Literally the game that got me into playing video games, not just watching. And is pretty much the reason for my whole personality. It possesses such an eerie sense of anemoia. The characters are lovable and so distinct. Truly, this game has left a lasting impression on my heart, and I'll always carry it with me.

Szukanie odpowiednich częstotliwości pozwala odkrywać kolejne sekrety wyspy, otwierać przejścia i poznawać fragmenty jej przeszłości. Dzięki temu zwykła eksploracja staje się ciekawsza, szczególnie jeśli chce się znaleźć wszystkie ukryte anomalie. Ogromną rolę odgrywają też dialogi. Rozmowy brzmią naturalnie, a gra często pozwala odpowiedzieć w trakcie wypowiedzi innej postaci albo całkowicie przemilczeć daną sytuację. Nasze decyzje wpływają przede wszystkim na relacje Alex z pozostałymi bohaterami. Możemy próbować zbliżyć do siebie niektóre postacie, poprawić lub pogorszyć konkretne relacje, a część wyborów znajduje swoje odbicie w zakończeniu. Pod względem rozgrywki Oxenfree jest bardzo proste. Głównie chodzimy, rozmawiamy, korzystamy z radia i rozwiązujemy niewielkie zagadki. Tajemnicza wyspa, świetne dialogi, radio, anomalie i zabawa motywem pętli czasowej tworzą historię, którą zdecydowanie warto przeżyć przynajmniej raz – a najlepiej więcej niż raz. Ocena 8,5/10 ❤ Gdy zapomnę o wartych uwagi info, będę edytowała. Naturalnie, możliwość komentowania pozostaje włączona. Pozdrawiam.

[7/10] ★★★⯪☆ Oxenfree is worth the full price. The premise of using radios to find out how an island is haunted has a strong start, and the character dialog is on the better half of story games. In particular, the way characters bounce off each other in conversation is really well done — while some dialog feels dated, there's still a lot of believable chemistry between everyone, and their struggles throughout are well done. My gripes come with the game as it goes on: the story didn't feel like it had a satisfying payoff or explain enough as to why things were happening, and to be honest I started getting annoyed with a lot of the characters, as even knowing they are teenagers in a stressful environment their bickering just felt like melodrama. It's still a good story that has a strong atmosphere and is worth checking out for that alone.

Good game if you like story games and games where it is choice dependent. I would recommend this game for sure! Just make sure you pay attention to the dialogue and story lol

If I had to describe Oxenfree, I'd say it's "Interesting and Unsettling". Firstly, the characters are done amazingly, with dialogue that feels real for their age and friendship. At times the dialogue can drag a lot, and they have "too much" to say, but that is not a bad thing at all. I found myself waiting for dialogue to finish before going to a different area solely because of how well it's written. One thing I did not end up doing was finding all of Maggie Adler's notes, solely because of the nature of the game, and how long the loading screens are to transition between scenes. Perhaps if it was shorter, I would have collected them all and have some confusions cleared up. The horror elements are great, with certain scenes leaving my jaw dropped. I would have preferred more of a dive into the horror aspect than a jump though. The art style is great and the overall story is (a little confusing to me, but) great. You can tell a lot of love was put into it.I'm intrigued by Oxenfree II: Lost Signals and Afterparty, and even playing another playthrough to get a different ending. Overall, I'd rate Oxenfree a 7/10 for me, based off of what I experienced in my playthrough. I'd say it's worth the money, but you need to be sure it's your type of game and you're happy with the relatively short length before purchasing. — Daelan F. Fannious, 22th September 2026

Oxenfree Supernatural narrative adventure | ~5 hours What it's about Alex takes the late ferry to Edwards Island, an abandoned military site off the Oregon coast, for the kind of overnight beach party teenagers have been having there for years. With her are her new stepbrother Jonas, who she barely knows, and three friends carrying a fair amount of unfinished business between them. She also brings a handheld radio. Tuning it in the wrong place picks up something that isn't a broadcast, and the night stops being the one any of them came for. What the island wants is the game's to reveal; what the five of them say to each other while it happens is largely up to you. It plays as a side-on walk through a hand-painted island. You explore, you tune the radio, and above all you talk, with dialogue options appearing as speech bubbles while everyone keeps moving. The conversation never pauses to let you think. What it does well [*]Conversation that never stops to wait for you. Dialogue runs in real time while you walk. Options surface for a few seconds and then pass; you can cut someone off mid-sentence, get cut off yourself, or say nothing at all and let the silence sit. It's the closest games have come to how people actually talk over each other, and it makes every exchange feel live rather than menu-driven. [*]Teenagers who sound like teenagers. The cast deflect with jokes, circle around what they mean, and get things wrong in ways that fit their age instead of fitting a plot. The performances are relaxed enough that the group reads as people with a history, and the relationships between them move in whichever direction you take them, without anyone announcing the shift. [*]Dread built out of very little. Muted hand-painted backdrops, an unusually good synth score and a lot of radio static do the work here. There's nothing to fight and nothing gruesome, yet the island at night gets genuinely unnerving, and the radio tuning turns the investigating into something you do with your hands rather than watch. [*]An inventive New Game+. What carries into a second run isn't items or skills, it's the story itself. Few games make replaying feel like it's worth something on its own terms, and this is one of them. Worth knowing [*]The dialogue system cuts both ways. The same timing that makes conversations feel alive means you'll sometimes talk over a line you wanted to hear, or watch the option you were reaching for expire. It's the cost of conversations that don't wait for you, but expect a few moments of wishing you could take a beat longer. [*]There's a lot of walking. The island is crossed and recrossed at a fairly stately pace, and the map isn't much help. The talking carries most of it, though the stretches between conversations can drag. [*]The back half gets murky. The rules of what's happening on the island stay deliberately vague, which suits the mood but leaves some of the late plot hard to follow. Your choices also shape the ending less dramatically than the constant decision-making implies. Summary Oxenfree is a story about five teenagers on an island where the night goes badly wrong, and it's the talking that makes it. The real-time dialogue system is the reason to play it, the cast are written and performed with an ease that's rare in any medium, and the island earns its atmosphere with a synth score and a radio dial rather than jump scares. The walking drags and the plot gets away from itself near the end, but neither costs it much. A short, smart, unusually well-spoken night out. Worth taking the ferry.
