Buy only on a deep discount. Or just wait for Planet Coaster 3, which will have all the upgrades from their experience working on the Jurassic World series. The first two tutorial chapters are actually decent. Don't need to play the tutorials after chapter 2, you will mostly be doing the same things past that point. There are problems in some spots of the tutorial though. In one of the early tutorial chapters you will build on a beachfront with pirate ships. It tells you to build a pool on beachfront 2. I was trying to build a pool on any beach I could find and was blocked, the game doesnt tell you that this is a locked piece of land and you must purchase it. It doesnt even tell you where the tool to purchase land is or even where the specific beach is to be able to purchase it. I had to search the internet. In a later tutorial you will build across two mountains with a monorail. The game wants you to complete the monorail across the mountain. Trying to build the monorail and place more tracks you get the error "auto tunnel not available" or some such similar message about tunnels. I dont want to tunnel, I want to build the track across the mountain. I had to search the internet again! Found out, in one the submenus for the monorail settings, auto tunnel is on by default when building new tracks! This is a tutorial for new players! It should not be on by default. After I completed the monorail, and powered it, it still wasnt working. Again, I searched the internet. It turns out, its a bug. You have to save the game and reload to get the quest to complete! Please playtest all of the tutorial before releasing the game! In many of the tutorial maps there are sloped paths, hills, mountains. These should not be there when teaching new players. Often I had issues placing paths because the game keeps giving me the error "intersecting terrain." Building on any kind of slope is very painful. Even the slightest height difference will have you messing around with the terrain modify tools for half an hour just to connect two paths. Better off building on a map with flat land to prevent headaches. It is much easier building paths in this game compared to Planet Zoo 1, but that is an extremely low bar. I like that I dont have to build things from scratch like PZ 1. There are lots of blueprints that let you build premade rides. They are simple to put down and connect paths too. Blueprints are a lifesaver. One problem with shell blueprints, it is hard trying to get custom buildings like shops inside of shells. Building breakdown happens too fast. You place down a generator, 5 mins later you get a notification that the generator urgently needs repair when it is at 73%. Why are you notifying me? I have plenty of mechanics. For some reason mechanics ignore repairing generators and rides on their own. I have to manually repair and refurbish things otherwise they go to 0%. Even when a generator or ride goes to 0%, they still wont go over there and start repairs! Why do I have to babysit mechanics? My mechanics always wander around "looking for work" when things are broken down. This is gamebreaking when you have lots of rides. I do not recommend the game just for this problem alone. It seems like rain and snow last forever. I do like though that I could set daytime as the permanent time. Once you have 3,000-3,500+ guests, just start a new map. Your fans will run on overdrive, and you may have some lag issues.

I honestly don’t understand why a sequel was needed. The pools could easily have been a DLC for the original game, and apart from that, not enough has really changed to justify calling this a full sequel. The new power distribution system just feels like an unnecessary chore. You have to place loads of power equipment around your park, and rather than adding anything enjoyable to the game, it just becomes another thing you constantly have to manage. A lot of the other additions feel like they’re there simply because they needed something new to justify making a sequel. It comes across as: “We’re making a sequel, so we need to add some extra mechanics to justify reskinning the original game and charging for it again.” Honestly, I’d give it a miss unless you can pick it up at a big discount, which is what I did. At full price, I just don’t think it’s worth it.

How does this game have any good reviews at all? It's unplayable in it's current state. Mechanics will ignore rides completely across the entire spectrum of well services -> Needing service -> in critical condition. They will ignore work zones, and even if you manually schedule a mechanic to have only a single responsibility all day, they will ignore the ride until it breaks down and your guests leave the park in anger. The only option they don't completely ignore is the "emergency rush service" which costs more than the ride earns. This is a game breaking issue, well known for many months, that cannot be discovered by a player in detail until after the refund issue ends. I feel scammed.

Hardest mode and it becomes more of a tycoon game. Flumes and pools add completely new variety. Research tree is too simple and dull.

I've played a lot of RCT2 over the years and recently got back into it, alongside Parkitect and Planet Coaster 1. Really enjoyed Parkitect, a lot of fun and very true to RCT, although it felt a bit "kiddy" rather than realistic. I quite enjoyed PC1 too, so after spending a lot of time on RCT-inspired games recently, I thought I'd give this a go. It's a stunning game and the parks look incredible, but it's just WAY too busy and overwhelming compared to Parkitect and RCT. A lot of the scenery, paths etc don't seem to snap together or follow a grid how you'd expect, so it's very easy to end up with things looking wonky. Getting things lined up feels far more fiddly and counterintuitive than it needs to be. I want to build a nice-looking park, but instead feel like I've spent hours just trying to build a station enclosure, and even then it doesn't come close to the standard of the stuff already in the game. It's a lot of effort for something that still looks a bit naff, which takes the enjoyment out of it. It's a shame, because it really is a beautiful game. But creating that same sort of beauty in your own park doesn't feel attainable, and the game doesn't feel like it does enough to teach you or help you get there. I don't expect to build something incredible straight away, but I'd like to feel like I'm learning how to, rather than just fighting with the controls. The controls are too busy, and there aren't enough straightforward, pre-made building options, things like draggable walls, to make it easier. The game overall just doesn't feel intuitive. The workshop is a bit crap too. No Steam Workshop, just their own version, and the filters don't seem to work properly. I tried filtering for content that only needed the base game and the DLC I got with the Deluxe Edition, but still kept getting stuff requiring other DLC. And the sheer amount of DLC for such a young game, which wasn't cheap to begin with, feels a bit cash cow-y. Great idea, beautiful game, but far too busy and overwhelming for me. I've packed it in.

Absoluter Freizeitpark-Traum!
