Port Royale 3: Pirates & Merchants
The Caribbean, in the turbulent 17th Century. The mighty kingdoms of Spain, England, France and the Netherlands fight over the colonies. And there you are, a young sea captain whose only goal is to become the most powerful man in the New World. To achieve that goal, you may choose one of the two available campaigns: will you become an Adventurer or a Trader?
If you chose the way of the Adventurer, lead an unforgiving campaign for the conquest of the seas: invasion, piracy, bounty hunting, raiding; do whatever it takes to build your own empire in the Caribbean. And of course, trade will have a less important role to play in your rise.
The way of the Trader is, on the opposite, mostly about developing your riches and your economic power. To be the most powerful Trader of the New World, you have to create trade routes, build industries and develop the economy of the colonies.
Of course, in Free Play mode, you can mix both of those in any way you want, letting you create your own unique and exciting story.
For the first time in the acclaimed Port Royale series, you are not alone in the beautiful and seemingly so peaceful seas of the Caribbean. The Multiplayer mode allows up to 4 players to play through LAN or over the Internet. Develop a successful trading company, lead your ships in beautiful 3D naval battles and force your opponents to their knees!
Two different single player campaigns: Adventurer and Trader.
Naval battles, raids, plundering and invasions await the Adventurer, while the Trader will develop trade routes and the economy to earn glory, fortune and power.
16 different ship types, such as powerful Galleons or versatile Frigates.
Organize trade with 60 different cities such as Port-au-Prince or Tortuga.
A competitive Multiplayer mode for up to 4 players.
A comprehensive trade system, with supply and demand dynamically setting the price of goods and wares, like in the real world.

Port Royale 3 to ciekawa strategia ekonomiczna dla osób, które lubią handel, zarządzanie i stopniowe budowanie własnego imperium. Karaiby XVII wieku są świetnym miejscem dla takiej gry – zaczynamy jako niewielki handlarz, żeby z czasem posiadać całe floty, przedsiębiorstwa i wpływy w kolejnych miastach. Najwięcej satysfakcji daje handel. Obserwowanie cen, wyszukiwanie najbardziej opłacalnych tras, automatyzowanie konwojów i rozwijanie własnej produkcji potrafią naprawdę wciągnąć. Można również pójść bardziej w stronę piractwa, walki i zdobywania kolejnych terenów. Nie wszystko zostało wykonane równie dobrze. Bitwy morskie są dość przeciętne, a część mechanik została wyraźnie uproszczona względem Port Royale 2, co szczególnie odczują fani poprzedniej części. Mimo swoich wad nadal jest to solidna strategia ekonomiczna, przy której można spędzić wiele godzin. Jeśli ktoś lubi handel, statki i budowanie własnego imperium na Karaibach, warto spróbować. Polecam.

Port Royale 3 ist ein Spiel, wo man auch ohne Kampf auskommt, nur mit Handel und Aufbau. Natürlich kann man mit Piraten kämpfen, muss aber keine der Nationen als Feind haben. Super zum entspannen und auf andere Gedanken zu kommen.

DISCLAIMER: This is a first impressions review, and NOT a full review Port Royale 3 is a game developed by Gaming Minds Studios and published by Kalypso Media Digital and is the third game in the Port Royale series The game offers some nice graphics and a nice aesthetic, although some ugly glitches here and there, it is pleasant all the same The game does suffer with some repetitiveness at certain areas of the game but a fun game nonetheless Port Royale 3 overall, however, is a fun game to play, yet sometimes repetitive and it does get boring if being played for a long time, but is a really good strategy game to play in short bursts! The concept is straightforward: build your trading empire in the Caribbean, buy goods where they're cheap, sell them where they're expensive, establish businesses, develop cities, and eventually become one of the biggest powers in the region. The trading system is probably the most satisfying part. You start small, learning which goods are needed in which towns, and slowly build up your fleet and trading routes. Once you have several ships moving around the Caribbean and money constantly coming in, there's something incredibly satisfying about seeing the little economy you've created actually work. But you're not limited to being a peaceful merchant. You can also get involved in naval combat, piracy, privateering, and territorial conflicts, which gives the game much more variety than simply buying and selling goods. The map is also surprisingly enjoyable to explore. There are a lot of towns and islands to discover, and the Caribbean setting gives the game a great atmosphere. That said, Port Royale 3 definitely has its limitations. The interface and some mechanics can feel dated, the AI isn't always brilliant, and the game can become repetitive once you've figured out the most efficient ways to make money.
