I really wanted to love this.. As a technical showcase for RTX Remix, Portal with RTX is genuinely impressive. The lighting is gorgeous, path tracing completely changes the atmosphere and it's a fantastic example of just what RTX Remix can accomplish. If your goal is to show off modern ray tracing technology, mission accomplished. The problem is...it's just not fun to actually play. Performance is all over the place. Even on capable hardware, it feels like you're fighting the game more than actually enjoying it (even with DLSS + FG). The visual upgrades come as such a massive cost that you're constantly reminded you're playing a tech demo instead of a polished remaster. Then there's the art direction. While some areas look incredible, others lose the clean, sterile identity that made the original Portal so memorable. Everything is just drenched in reflections and extra detail that often distracts me from the simple aesthetic Valve originally nailed. Honestly though, Portal with RTX is a damn fine showcase game. It's hard not to appreciate the work that went into rebuilding all the assets and demonstrating what RTX Remix can do, but I wish the same effort had gone into making it feel like the definitive way to play Portal. Instead, I found myself wanting to go back to the original after a while. Don't get me wrong, if you're curious about RTX Remix, this is an excellent benchmark. However, if you're looking for the best way to experience Portal, stick with the original.

I'm just not impressed with any of these path-tracing games because the image quality is always terrible, with noise, ghosting and smearing even on ultra settings. And it can hardly be called real-time when it takes a few seconds for the lighting to fully update whenever anything changes (turning the flashlight on and off in HL2 RTX illustrates this perfectly). It's a freebie though, so whatever. What prompted the negative review was that they somehow messed up the text formatting in the end credits, one of the most iconic scenes in videogame history. Unforgivable!

Tedious to setup OptiScaler to take advatage of the newly released FSR 4.1.1 and the game crashes a lot on my computer, but it's gorgeous and super fun to play. Finally playing this for the first time even though this game came out 16 years ago. I get 60 fps in 1440p FSR4.1.1 performance upscaling with ultra settings on my 9070xt. The game will be rough to run on lower end AMD cards so be ready for that.

Очень рад пройти обновлённую portal rtx. Новая графика не нарушила настроения покинутой лаборатории и напряжённости. Вторая часть растеряла как мне кажется эту напряжоноость из-за шуточек через каждые 3 минуты.

на фулл хд, в максимальных настройках и dlss на качество, было 60-70 фпс. мне очень даже понравилось. мне, наверное, повезло то, что впервые поиграл в эту игру, так еще и с rtx. смотрю, мыло не так уж и много было, изображение чёткое и плавное. думаю, потому что у меня просто rtx 5070, я хз. не играл никогда в портал, но, когда купил новый комп, решился попробовать. оказывается игра реально охуенная)

Excellent visual overhaul of an all-time classic puzzle game. Nothing more, nothing less. Quite demanding on hardware, but worth the performance hit for what it brings.

Yorumları gördüğümde oyuna başlarken biraz endişelmiştim herkes optimizasyonun kötü olduğunu sadece en üst düzey ve en yeni ekran kartlarıyla makul bir kare hızı alınabildiğini söylüyordu. Özellikle bu oyunda 4090 olmadan en yüksek görsel kalitede kusursuz bir performans alamazsınız ama zaten bir teknoloji demosunun olayı da budur teknolojiyi sergilemek çoğu oyunda görülen kısmi uygulamaların aksine burada tam kapsamlı ışın izleme kullanılıyor bu da sisteminize çok daha fazla yük bindirecektir.
