Project Hospital Made Me Learn Real Medicine By Almost Killing a Guy With Lead Poisoning Project Hospital lets you run things two ways. At the micro level, you take control of an individual doctor (you can even rename yourself into the role) and work clinic patients directly, running the actual exams (physicals, chest exams, skin allergy tests, and so on) to reach a diagnosis. At the macro level, you're managing the whole hospital instead: expenses, patient flow, staffing, the works. Both layers are playable, both are genuinely deep, and the game trusts you to actually understand what you're doing instead of holding your hand through it. Pros The diagnostic complexity is the best part of the game. Patients don't always present cleanly. You'll get someone in through the clinic or via an ambulance trauma case with vague complaints, breathing trouble, some pain, nothing alarming on the surface, and then they'll suddenly collapse. Transfer them to internal medicine and you find out it's actually lead poisoning or some other condition the original department couldn't catch with the tests available to it. Miss it, and the patient dies. That's the game punishing you for not paying attention, and it's brutal in a way that feels earned rather than cheap. It's built on real medicine, and it shows. Symptoms map to diseases the way they actually do in real life, department by department, test by test. I'd genuinely believe an actual doctor would enjoy sitting down with this. I've picked up a surprising amount of real medical knowledge just from playing, enough that it renewed an interest in biology I had as a kid and had completely forgotten about. The tutorials are excellent. This is a complicated game and it will absolutely overwhelm you if you're not paying attention, but the tutorials do a genuinely good job walking you through hospital flow, department dependencies, and how everything connects before it throws you into the deep end. Follow them properly and the rest of the game clicks into place instead of feeling like a wall of systems. There's a modding community, and it's still alive. Not huge, but active enough to matter. Good mods out there adding new departments, name changes, decorative items, posters, and other small quality-of-life touches that add up over a long playthrough. Your staff have personality, and it actually affects how you manage them. Employees aren't interchangeable stat blocks. Some have long commutes that affect their reliability, some are young parents juggling that alongside work, some are just more diligent on day shift versus night shift. It makes staffing feel less like filling slots and more like actually managing people, quirks and all. The day/night shift system adds a real layer of planning. The hospital runs day and night shifts, but starting up the night shift is entirely on you. You have to hire for it and actually pay attention to which rooms get heavy use during the day so you can staff and prep the right departments for the night. It's an easy thing to ignore early on and a genuinely satisfying system once you start optimizing around it. Cons The patient queuing system is a black box, and not in a good way. Patients who've clearly been waiting longer than others sometimes get skipped over for someone who arrived after them, with no visible explanation for why. I never figured out the actual logic behind it. It should be transparent, and it just isn't, which makes it hard to trust the system is even working correctly. Janitors clean whatever they want, not what actually needs cleaning. You can't direct them to a specific dirty tile. They'll wander off and re-clean a spotless hallway while an actual mess sits there in plain view. It's a small thing, but it's the kind of small thing that gets genuinely annoying once you notice it, especially in a game this focused on managing what's in front of you. This game is not for everyone, and it knows it. I recently finished one of the six major challenges and only 3.4% of players have actually completed it. That's a real signal about how steep the learning curve is here. If you go in expecting something casual, you'll bounce off hard, and the game isn't going to soften that for you. Bottom Line This is a genuinely deep, well-researched sim that rewards patience and punishes carelessness in a way that feels earned rather than cheap. It's not for a casual audience, and a couple of the systems (the queue logic especially) could use more transparency, but if you stick with it, it's a lot of fun and honestly kind of educational. Thoroughly enjoyed my time with it.

This is a tough game to rate and therefore hard to say if I recommend it or not. Project Hospital is a sandbox management game where you build and manage your own hospital. It is very similar to Two Point Hospital, just more realistic and way more “serious”. This game goes really hard in on management and less so on being a creative sandbox. Patients have to go through every step of the process and mishaps often lead to injuries and death. Hospital employees all have their own employee cards with things like personal stats, special skills and stress levels and patients have similar cards with their possible diagnoses, examinations and treatments. Most of this game is just about hiring and managing competent staff and supplying the correct facilities and enough space to house your patients. Most facilities and rooms are prebuilt, and everything kind of looks the same after you build your first few hospitals. So, there isn't a lot of creative freedom for the player. I do like that this isn't as silly as Two Point Hospital though and that they went the more serious route, but I also think it is somewhat what hurts the experience a little. Two Point Hospital's strength was its easy UI and relaxing playstyle, and it was just easy to boot up, play a bit and then close again. Project Hospital however, just always felt to me like I had to dedicate a longer time in order to really get into it and every time I came back, I had to relearn it. I do like the visual design though. The surgery rooms with the surgeons during operation look super cool and is initially why I decided to get the game and the look of your hospital as it starts growing also looks good and realistic. I don't think I can really recommend this game though, even if it is a solid management game. I just don't think I'm gonna play more of it and I honestly don't know who I would recommend it to. ─────────────────────────── Help me out by following my Curator, I’d really appreciate it!!

No ¿Es Difícil?

This is a unique and engrossing game IF you have the patience to get past its rough edges and are willing to do a bit of work to understand its mechanics. I spent my first few hours running to the forums to find answers to things which, it turns out, had confused others too. Why are my staff upset at being "unattended"? (they need a chief doctor in their department) What if the doctors can't distinguish between viral & bacterial tonsilitis? (treat both!). Why are people exposed to weather? (you missed a wall somewhere). Why isn't my surgery team performing surgery? (you need extra staff, and/or to set them to have specialised roles) Why do my patients keep collapsing post-surgery? (check them post-surgery for an abscess/infection/bleeding etc) Why are people turning up in ambulances with arthritis? (okay, I never worked that one out) Then I spent the next few hours trying mods to fix the stuff which was driving me mad (for a start - bedside examinations, more names, realistic collapses). Once I could finally get stuck into it, I loved it. From little things like the cute pictograms and animations and the different patient and doctor traits which keep things varied to the fundemental stuff, like the freedom to have as small or broad a scope to your hospital as you like. Want a dinky little clinic dealing with minor ailments? Go for it. Prefer a major hospital performing a dozen surgeries a day? You can do that too. There's something deeply satisfying about seeing someone get discharged after being pulled back from the brink several times, or in catching a potentially fatal symptom just in time. Add in the solid community, which offers plenty of help and additional content, and you have a pretty special game.

Awesome to play. A lot of things to do and build. Still in the campaign and looking forward to play in the sandbox.

I suppose this just comes down to my personal taste, but the interface and art is just too unattractive for me to be able to spend much joyful time with this game.
