Although short, The Rhombus of Ruin keeps the charm of the other Psychonauts games, with some beautiful set pieces, and puzzles that are simple enough to never be too frustrating. I played on a Quest 3 which was unimaginably annoying to set up, but with a more combatable headset, I imagine I would have left the experience more positive overall. Worth checking out for fans of the series.

I was blown away. if you have vr and you love psychonauts this game is necessity. don't worry about missing storyline for the next game, the developers were kind enough to consider that and cover all of the missing context in game 2 and there isn't much critical info in this. it's as short as it is sweet and i want to play it again already. details: - can play the entire game while sitting - gameplay is designed to avoid motion sickness - gameplay is about 15 minutes to an hour - graphics are 7/10 but my headset is VERY obsolete - puzzles are frustrating in a good way - raz won't shut up - milla vodello jumpscare at the beginning, why is she built like the witch from L4D2? - game is incredibly funny and endearing. chaotic vr players would have a blast with the dark humor potential - visually hypnotic and captivating the entire time. - makes you use your headset in a way that makes you feel like a real psychic using your powers - bonus points that your vr headset and headphones will make you feel like raz - story has hearbreaking moments. i genuinely paused and stared at the ground for a while during one of the levels because i was like "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... i- i'm so sorry"
