Gameplay wise, this game is great. However, the lack of strict penalties for toxic behavior is ruining it. Playing in Silver is a nightmare because someone throws, griefs, or leaves in almost every match. Since the game doesn't punish them properly, they just keep doing it. The developers need to add severe punishments for bad behavior, or solo queue will stay unplayable.

Don't let mostly positive reviews fool you, this game state its a mess, the developers only care about pushing cosmetics instead of fixing the game, they only do patches when season ends which can take months, there's too many exploiters in the game defending the bugs, people having infinite stamina, so many cheaters as well, matchmaking still awful, its so disappointing the studio who was behind of Sifu created this game, they don't care.

TL;DR: Fun online multiplayer kung-fu street-soccer game. REMATCH takes fun aspects of street soccer and spices it up with kung-fu pace (hello SIFU). It is basically soccer without boring elements: no slow-paced games, instead you're presented with quick 3v3 or 4v4 or 5v5 matches that you'll finish in 5-7 minutes; no nerdy rules, so you can enter this game without almost any knowledge; no grind like in FIFA, only thing that matters is your skill, no randomness or luck (besides physics). It is just a fun competitive sports game! Short section about aesthetic components: visually REMATCH looks pretty stylish, sound design is competitively clear and well done, OST is nothing crazy, just okay. Optimization is decent: my PC manages to get 120-160 FPS with 2K resolution, DLSS balance and all low settings except textures quality (Ultra). And now to the most important things. Gameplay is, in my honest opinion, good. You have some basic options to shoot and pass, stamina bar with normal sprint and EE (extra effort) that you can use for a couple of seconds to get faster running speed and create space. Another nice thing to mention is that you're not pushed to play only one role, either it's midfield or striker or goalkeeper and etc.. You have freedom to combine those playstyles. And my favorite: goalkeeper changes everytime someone scores, so you know that you will play with the ball when you boot up in the match (and be GK, don't leave the net for God's sake). In mechanical meaning gameplay provides some freedom in dribbling and movement and fun tactical opportunities, like dolphin dive, volley shots and etc.. Controls are relatively simple and very precise, you have many options to choose from: normal shoot and curve shots; passing, that includes ground pass, lob pass, lob light tap, which you use without changing direction of your camera (insanely convenient); rainbow flick and many combos using them together. To be clear, for controls you will use around 4-5 buttons: you don't have to always use every option. So I'd say that game is pretty accessible. But I cannot say that gameplay is perfect. Like in any competitive online game people will always find unbalanced mechanics that need patches and will abuse them. For example, at the release of the REMATCH team with a higher score would just pass to their GK all the time to ensure that opponents won't get the ball to try to launch a counterattack. For now I think that Sloclap should look into zero stamina dribbling with dribble stance, it feels unfair to defend, because it pretty much ignores the whole point of stamina - restricting controls for every player to ensure no one is too strong. Same thing with defensive stance and it's dashes. Magnetising ball as a whole concept works weird, sometimes it looks fair, sometimes not. To people that disagree - remember that I'm just a casual player and I do not promote myself as a pro that deeply understands the game, but I'd be happy to hear what you think about it. That said, I still feel like the whole picture looks great, because REMATCH provides fun gameplay after all, it is incredibly nice to play with a group of friends. Randoms? About randoms? Uhh... I guess you've played online games and you know what you will experience when playing with random teammates... hey, at least it's not as bad as Rocket League! Almost. Another thing I want to mention is about devs. Sure, I understand, it's an indie company that might not have a big budgets and huge dev team. But it is still weird and sometimes unacceptable that to fix some of in-game exploits it may take half a year or even the whole year (maybe not quite exact amount of time, but you get the point). REMATCH has been out for a year and netcode still feels clunky and even junky, and I'm an EU player, AFAIK server issues are even worse in SA and other regions. It really feels weird when they do cosmetic collabs that often and not gameplay related updates. It has become better at the moment, but it still concerns me as a regular player. Last thing for me is lack of communication, basically only source of the news is their official site and Discord server, they could've at least share patch notes through Steam also. In conclusion I'll say that game itself is fine and incredibly fun, especially when you have friends (or even just one). Competitive element is decently fair and provokes the player to work with a team and shine with personal skills, whether it's a striking dribbling, unbreakable defending or being a never missing goalkeeper. I never was a fan of soccer, because it always looked like very slow, boring, even motionless sport. This game proved me wrong! Guess only thing I can do is to thank Sloclap! Hope REMATCH will have a great future <3

Играть в эту игру это пытка. Каждый раз заходишь и думаешь посидеть попердеть пиная мячик по полю, но тут тебе закидывает одного или двух аутистов, которые за всю игру дадут 1 пас и то случайно. Постоянно кидает в игру где 2 человека в пати и ты бегаешь нюхаешь траву на поле. Ужасный сетевой код. Пинг в этой игре очень решает, но поиск думает что ты сможешь играть с людьми у которых он 120+. Режим 1 на 1 просто ужас. Говорить о том что за год игры они не исправили срыв сенсы на мыши когда даешь пас низом/верхом это вообще пи3дец какой-то От футбола тут только картинка и крутая нарезка в клипах с ломаными анимациями Либо играть с друзьями, либо скип, со временем вас эта игра за~бет
