I don't get why this is "Overwelmingly Poisitve" it has terrible controls and looks like a web browser flash game from 2002. Does not work well with controllers either.

RETROWAVE, is a simple driving mini-game that has you weaving between traffic, and vibing to the beautiful synth and vaporwave soundtrack. There are many vintage cars to pick from with their own unique stats, while still being customisable. This is the first in the Retrowave "trilogy" so it is more bare bones than the next two. It still features a healthy amount of gamemodes and landscapes to drive through. This game is a basic score attack game where the game does not really meaningfully change after your first run, but it can keep you coming back for more. As the game can altered to be a relaxing drive or a heart-pounding dodging game. The vehicles are not on rails and so each of the physics will be different which can change how you play drastically. Especially, the truck, which can drift and flip very easily. One big issue is that this developer often does not continue to fix the game and copies a lot from their previous titles. Another thing is soundtrack, it is a great little soundtrack, same with the other Retrowaves, however, there is never an official list nor a way to specifically choose songs, so if you find a song you really like, have fun tracking it down. PROS: - Really beautiful and accurate synthwave landscapes - Large variety of maps and cars - Sufficiently different game-modes - Score attack CONS: - Terrible truck physics - Horrible song selector If you are looking into Retrowave 2 as well, it will be a huge step up from this entry.

Soon as I heard Home Resonance I was locked into what ended up being my best run lol. The gameplay and music, progression, everything here is excellent. I got the map pack as well. I saw there is a sequel to this game but I haven't tried it yet. I don't think a sequel was necessary, they should've just added free updates or more dlc to this instead.

In short: get it if you want 3 sets of fancy alphabet achievement tiles and anime babes for your steam profile, or if you enjoy a simplistic driving experience. Retrowave is a vibe game where you 'race' across courses in fast cars dodging left to right while building up points based on speed, distance, near misses and elapsed time. You have a few game modes, One or two way traffic, time attack and bomb mode. One or Two way are infinite roads, you just drive and try not to crash. Time attack requires you to drive while building a high score without crashing for 100 seconds, and bomb, just don't let the bomb explode and you are golden. The Good: - The car designs are based on classic models and look great. - The music is definitely matching the retrowave/synthwave/outrun vibes the dev(s) were going for. - You can buy and improve cars ( I liked getting better handling) - The achievement tiles are awesome. - It is generally a short game, you can see all it has to offer in a few hours. The Bad: -The speed stat increase is marginal, especially on the more expensive cars. -The music could have been licensed tracks from more renowned or popular synthwave artists big in the genre- one in particular who this game owes a lot to (They did reference said artist in the sequel, but still didn't get the song rights) - I ended up playing the Saturday Night Synthwave playlist on YT Music while I played. -The courses are basically 5 second loops that have cars placed differently as you drive. The backgrounds are repetitive and that is a bit vibe kill when you just want to do an Outrun styled race, where you drive, reach checkpoints, dodge cars all while driving a super cool cars. I mean, I enjoyed the game for what it was, but it outstayed its welcome with two very obnoxious achievements, which leads me to... The Ugly: - The two VERY obnoxious achievements: Get $1000000, and Complete a 1000 runs are more of a test of patience and resolve then being anything of skill or for the game itself. You can save all the cash and get the 1million, then buy all the cars, and by the time you got that 1million, unless you did the hold drive and go AFK for 8 hours trick, you will get the 1000 runs along the way or a short time after. It is ugly because, frankly, it doesn't respect your time, and it stops being fun and becomes a chore. You will notice these are the two achievements have the lowest percentage, because people gave up on them. The game unfortunately outstays its welcome and is a bit boring for the final 500 runs. It's an unhealthy grind. That being said, I did really like the vibes, the achievements tiles and the general chill of the game. I Enjoyed running for an hour a night, until the final 500 which I basically did in two sittings. I do recommend getting this game, for all it's bad and ugly sides, it is still a nice project and one that was bettered with Retrowave 2. The developer(s) did work hard at it, I just think they were too ambitious with achievements, considering how short the game actually is. Grab it on a sale and then get the sequel!

Играл в это чудо сугубо ради платины, пусть и знал, что это дело неблагодарное. Решил схитрить и подрубить спидхак. По итогу — разраб-приколист аннулировал мои деньги и заезды, спиздив возможность их увеличивать. Браво, ♥♥♥♥♥. Зато делать максимально душные и унылые достяги мы умеем, да. Благо я потратил в эту помойку относительно немного времени, как мог, потому с чистой душой могу послать получение платины в этой поделке в пешее-эротическое. Максимально не советую брать за полную стоимость и если вы любитель закрывать игры на платину. Это того не стоит.

Nur dem Verkehr Auszuweichen ist wohl ein relativ simples Spielprinzip. ^^ Aber dank des Soundtracks🎶, der soften Steuerung und der Retro Optik konnte mich das Game noch bis zum Ende mitnehmen. 🕹 _🏎_ Danke dafür. 👍
