Do not buy this game. Group of friends bought it planning for COOP sessions back on release. We've attempted multiple runs over the years without any progression because the network code for this game is terrible. Lag makes the game unplayable multiplayer, especially because of how combat is so fast paced. This is still not fixed. I ended up playing a full solo campaign because I bought the game and wanted to experience it, and was let down incredibly. Village Management and UI: Do you like scrolling down lists? This game is for you. Once villager count, village count, and workstation count reaches more than one screens worth of list items, you are forced to scroll endlessly through the menu to manage your village. All of the dynasty tabs (population, jobs, priorities) list every single possible entity. To manage the needs of your village you will need to scroll every item just to find a missing tool, unemployed villager, or that workstation you want to find. Filters provided in the game are useless and do not correlate to anything you ever need to filter on. I've spent so much time scrolling lists in this game because I cannot pinpoint a specific workstation or person I know I need to find. Additionally, your villagers level each season and can produce more at whatever station you work at. However none of the work gets updated to the villager's level. Each time a villager levels up you need to manually increase the amount of production they produce. This led to me to each season clicking on every single workstation and ticking up their products a few ticks to ensure they were producing the max they could. The map is terrible, all the icons are just icons. No popup describing what the icons are and no way to filter icons out. Traveler posts (player placed fast travel) cannot be renamed. At the end of my run I have ~30 different traveler posts and had to remember where each of them went by their default number generated when they were created. Note that villages can be renamed, and you can even assign a new icon for them. Why they didn't include the traveler's posts in that system is beyond frustrating. Raids and Enemy AI: This game has a large curve for stats at the beginning. Copper -> bronze -> iron is a significant step. Raids however are incredibly broken. I enjoy a challenge and enjoy a steep stat curve, but I have had multiple instances of raids on my villages where the enemy spawned was a Samurai(steel)/Ashigaru(iron) when I still had bronze weapons. The only way to deal with these enemies was to zerg rush until they died. And the amount of waves ensure I lost a ton of items and failed the raids. Walls had no effect, enemy AI attacks the closest wall when you are in range so you cannot even funnel them into a choke point or plan for a good defense with your militia. Additional problem is that once you get iron tier armor, the game is very easy. Enemy AI is stupid and predictable and the aggro system is flawed. Attack patterns are the same for the same weapons. If you fight one, you've fought them all. Also if you shoot an arrow, all enemies in the vicinity aggro, where if you slowly walk up you can aggro one guy at a time. This made all the enemy camps very easy to clear. Major Bugs: I didn't see these bugs in single player until roughly half way through my run. However there were many instances of my equipped weapon unusable once I blocked a few attacks. This would actually lock out my entire hot bar. Also I've gotten stuck many times after building a workstation in a place where my character could not exit. Leveling System: The perks for all of the trees are either boring or useless. 50% of the monk tree just increases your base stats for stam/HP/resolve. The entire first tier is to boost XP gain in this tree or other skill trees. There is a skill that takes two points to reduce the MASSIVE/s cost of fast travel (10g). Complete waste of time. The craftsman tree just increase speed of harvesting or durability of tools. The leadership tree is split between reducing villager needs by a % or unlocking new structures. The warrior tree actually allows you to unlock new attack moves and has impactful skill allocations. However four achievements for this game are tied to maxing out three of the trees. Through this solo run, where I've wiped out all of the major bandit camps, plus significant hunting/minor camp replacement, I still need 36 warrior skill points to max it out. I currently have 39 lvls in this tree. So at the end of the game, when I've completed 36/40 achievements, I need to gather a similar amount of XP in warrior just to finish off this achievement when the only enemies left on the map are animals and random spawns of minor camps. Its crazy Mansions, Walls, and Decorations: The mansion system is broken. Interior walls snap to the ground level and since they clip the structure of the mansion you cannot place them. Mansion walkways do not snap to the actual mansion structure. End game tier wall connector pieces do not have all their snap points. A cross section only has two of the four snap points coded, L sections only have one snap point, and the T section only has two. The "end cap" wall has zero snap points. This is such a basic function I cannot believe this game is two years after release with these issues still in it. Decorations are silly. Do you want to place a weapon rack? Ok, next you need to build one of a very few selection of the weapons in the game and then place it in the rack. BUT this weapon cannot be pulled from the rack, its only there for decoration. Minecraft added picture frames ten years ago where you could put and remove any item into a decoration. Production Systems: Late game production systems are stupidly balanced. Paper, a late game luxury resource, requires 6 different stations to process. Where the final tier of metal requires two. Paper sells for pennies and any tool/weapon made of the final tier of metal sells for hundreds of gold. Medicine is incredibly vague and useless on the most part. There are about 15 recipes for different types of medicine, but none of them actually effect your character at all and all provide roughly the same amount of need for your village. There are probably ~20 different types of food that all equate to the same villager need satisfaction. The problem is there is no variance to the recipes that you can produce compared to where you actually build a village. You can get the same food resources anywhere. This leads to a huge amount of recipes that are completely useless and a bore to navigate through. Legendary Weapons and Island Expansion: They added four sets of legendary weapons to the game. Only problem is that all of the weapons from the same type have the exact same stats. Why did you add three legendary katanas that are identical except for their icon and skins? Such a wasted opportunity for a bit of variety. Additionally the legendary weapons have such a small increase in power from their masterwork counterparts but require a huge amount of increased resources to make. Legendary weapons should be unique, not a slightly better version of the previous tier. The new islands they added are a complete waste of time. They replicated the same progression system as the main land (bronze -> iron -> steel). It looks like the goal was to make a new way to start the game? But once you complete either the mainland or the islands, the other remaining regions are ridiculously easy and just a time sink to clear. New content was basic at best, very disappointing. This game needs a lot of work and with the path its on, I don't see myself ever changing my recommendation of: DO NOT BUY

Over 435 hours, all 40 achievements. And yes, I would still play it again. I jumped straight into Hardcore without ever having played Sengoku Dynasty before. More than 435 hours later, all 40 achievements are done, every camp including the islands has been cleared, and what started as a shabby little settlement became a capital city with five additional villages. Before this starts sounding like I hate the game: I don't. Sengoku Dynasty is awesome. If you enjoy survival games, settlement building and feudal Japan, this is a game you can completely lose yourself in. The landscapes are beautiful, the seasons transform the world and the music fits the setting perfectly. The game is already great. My problem is that several systems feel unnecessarily complicated or unfinished. The Monk skill tree is manageable, Craftsman takes a while, and Warrior feels like it takes until the next historical era. A huge part of my playtime went into finishing it. Yes, you can increase XP multipliers, but to me that would have felt like cheating. Ironically, the most interesting tree, Leader, stops at level 20 and cannot be respecced. Early on, reduced food or heating consumption is useful. Later, merchant stalls, maintenance, luxury or the Zen garden may matter much more. If you did not take those perks, tough luck. Not even raising a child and taking over as the next generation resets that tree. The child keeps the parent's original specialisation and gains another one, but Craftsman, Monk and Warrior are only partially carried over. Starting a new generation while Samurai already raid you can hurt. My advice: save it for the endgame. The wonderfully strange "One Less Mouth to Feed!" achievement also made me sabotage my own perfectly happy settlement until someone finally left. Other games punish bad management; Sengoku Dynasty makes you do it for an achievement. Sengoku Dynasty requires a paid DLC: Microsoft Excel. That is a joke. Unfortunately, only about half of it is a joke. If you want a genuinely self-sufficient settlement, the game gives you far too few concrete numbers. My Excel sheet eventually reached column AB and around 85 rows. Production chains depend on seasons, tool quality, NPC skills and intermediate products. Ice is winter-only but needed throughout the year. Steel spears need steel, leather and high-quality wood; those materials require their own resources in turn. The complexity itself is not the problem. I like it. The problem is that the game does not clearly tell you how much food, heating material, luxury, security or spirituality one villager consumes, or how quickly a guard uses a weapon. Medieval Dynasty communicates this much better. Then comes overproduction. At some point I had around 4,000 spears of one type and huge amounts of ore, stone, straw and rotten food, with no sensible way to get rid of it. Shared storage eventually fills up. Dropped items do not despawn, so I literally built a garbage house and dumped massive amounts of unwanted resources onto the floor. Fortunately, my PC accepted this economic policy. Selling the surplus is barely better. Spears do not stack, so 36 inventory slots mean 36 spears per trip, while many merchants have barely enough money to buy one. If you did not unlock merchant stalls, congratulations: your settlement builder has become a walking simulator. The game needs endgame wholesale trade: a bulk merchant, regional trade or diplomacy, anything that lets a successful economy sell successful-economy quantities. Production controls also need work. Some values are changed by holding down a button. And holding it. And holding it. At the end I needed more than 2,300 water per day; reassigning workers and raising production again becomes absurdly tedious. Please give us a slider, direct number input or simply a MAX button. Seasonal production can break when skipping time. If a resource is unavailable in one season and production drops to 0, it may stay there when the resource becomes available again. That happened to me with ice and Sake. On Hardcore, silently breaking a supply chain like that can become dangerous. Automatic crop rotation is another obvious missing feature. Medieval Dynasty lets you configure what should be planted each season. Sengoku Dynasty does not. A supposedly self-sufficient settlement therefore still needs manual babysitting. The newer NPC specialisation system is a good idea, but finding the right worker can be miserable because you do not know a refugee's profession beforehand. You can spend an entire season searching and still not find the farmer or guard you need. A notice board or targeted recruitment would help. And why are there no horses, donkeys or boats? The map is huge and fast travel is limited. The scenery is gorgeous, but after 300 hours I have seen it. Several times. Thatched-roof buildings look fantastic, but NPCs sometimes get stuck around them. A simple "reset stuck NPCs" button would help. And now the real crime: 1,000 plants. I can overlook the Warrior grind, production sliders, my garbage house and 4,000 spears. But when you interfere with decoration, things become personal. Even with custom settings, the maximum number of plantable objects is 1,000, not 1,000 trees, but everything combined: trees, bushes, flowers, bamboo, shrubs and so on. Across the entire world. For a game about beautiful settlements in feudal Japan, that is painfully low. Sakura trees, plum groves, bamboo forests and gardens are part of the atmosphere. I once made an existing forest denser and later discovered I had burned through a huge part of the global limit. Removing plants is awkward too. Cutting a tree is not enough; even the stump and regrowth can matter before the slot is finally freed. A bamboo forest with 20 bamboo plants is not a bamboo forest. It is a sad little bamboo support group. I understand the technical reason for a limit, but give us warnings, graphical options or much higher optional caps. A hard maximum of 1,000 is simply too restrictive. If you want to see what more than 435 hours of building eventually turned into, I made a video of my capital: Sengoku Dynasty - Kokorosogi | A Peaceful Tour Through My Japanese Capital It starts where a new game begins and follows the gorge toward Kokorosogi, my capital built where Sosogi once stood. There are smaller issues too: odd sleeping bugs, ugly mandatory weather gear and very limited diplomacy. But despite all of this: Sengoku Dynasty is already a great game. I did not spend more than 435 hours playing it because I was suffering. I spent them because the game genuinely pulled me in. Watching my settlements grow, building production chains and eventually looking at a functioning dynasty was immensely enjoyable. The longer you play and the harder you push its systems, the more unfinished edges you notice. But the foundation is excellent, the atmosphere is wonderful and the potential is enormous. If you love survival games, settlement building and feudal Japan, weeb, otaku, Japan nerd or whatever you prefer, I absolutely recommend giving it a try. Clear recommendation. But install Excel just in case.

I would only play this if you want to build a village and nothing else. The combat is horrendous to the point that every single boss/fight in the game can be cheesed because (when I played it over a year ago) every enemy is leashed to a clearly defined area. So you can sit 1 foot outside of it and watch as enemies turn around and forget your existence. Somehow worse than Medieval Dynasty. I keep putting dozens of hours into these games expecting more and I keep being disappointed.

Had a lot of fun playing this with my wife! The menus are a bit convoluted and there are definitely some quirks to the game, but on the plus side there's a lot to do and we thorougly enjoyed our time.

Sengoku Dynasty — Great Potential, but Still Feels Like a Beta DISCLAIMER I love this game, its setting, and its style, but I can't recommend it in its current state. I'm the kind of player who checks every corner, looks closely at every detail, and tends to be a perfectionist. So you'll find issues here that you might not have noticed yourself or simply wouldn't care about. I came back to the game after some time away, and I couldn't help but notice how many things still need attention. 🎨VISUALS & GRAPHICS • Textures: Even with graphics settings maxed out, some textures look like they're straight out of the PS1 era. • Water: This is probably the worst offender. You can walk through water as if it were solid ground. There's no swimming, and the water doesn't react to your character at all. The visual effect is noticeable in shallow water and sometimes even on the beach itself. • Map: The map could use a higher resolution. I don't think replacing a static image with a better-quality one would have a significant impact on performance. • Lighting: Lighting is inconsistent. Some caves are so bright they feel like open spaces, while others are properly dark. • Building details: I like the building customization system and the ability to change materials. However, building prefabs often feel too empty and could use more detail. I understand that some of this might be intentional to give us more freedom when customizing our buildings. 🌿WORLD & IMMERSION • The world feels dead: There are animals, a few random camps or tents with recruitable villagers or bandits, but no travelers or ambient events to make the world feel alive. • Cities and NPCs: Cities look plastic, and NPCs mostly walk around without doing much else. They feel shallow, often look alike, and have very little personality. The same problem applies to villagers. • Dialogue: NPCs have only basic dialogue lines. They don't reference the conversations you have with them, and they lack facial expressions. • Idle animations: There seems to be very little variety in idle poses, if any at all. • Points of interest: They often feel repetitive. Most seem to be variations of camps, tents, altars or cities that look as if they were built by players. • World interaction: The environment feels static. Plants don't bend when you walk through them, there are no footprints, and footsteps sound basic rather than crisp and satisfying. During rain, almost every surface sounds the same, even indoors. There are no leaves drifting through the woods, just a few tiny particles falling quickly and almost straight down beneath the trees. • Weather: The weather system feels very basic. There's sunshine, rain, and winter, but not much else to make the world feel dynamic. • Plants and animal resources: Almost all animals provide the same meat, fur, and other materials, with only a few exceptions. Some plants also share the same materials. It's pretty disappointing. 🧍ANIMATIONS & CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION • Movement: Animations often feel clunky. On hills, character feet don't align properly with the terrain, sometimes sinking ankle-deep into the ground. You can also point in one direction while your character moves in another. • Character creation: Customization options are very limited, often offering only a handful of choices for each feature. The same limitation applies to NPCs. • Villager clothing: We still can't change villagers' clothes ourselves, either directly or through a suitable workstation or building type. ⚔️GAMEPLAY, BALANCE & PROGRESSION • Balance: It barely exists. Weapons feel too similar, durability is far too low, and raids make little sense. They're random and don't scale with the player's level. • Economy: Item prices make little sense across different categories. At the start of the game, hunting alone can make you rich enough to buy almost everything instead of having to work your way towards it. • Skills: The skill tree is very basic. I actually like keeping things simple, but there could be more variety. • Sandbox options: I like the available sandbox settings, but I think we need more options. • Village management: This system still needs a lot of work. Other reviews have explained issues with filters, lists, and general management much better than I can here. • Villager assignments: Personally, it's easier for me to do everything myself than to rely on villagers. If you assign villagers to a project, their jobs aren't remembered properly, so you have to assign everything again, one task at a time. • Building variety: I'd love to see more building types, such as a dedicated stone warehouse for storing stone, ores, and ingots. • Tree stumps: Digging out tree stumps should require a shovel. I accidentally chop down trees far too often when I actually want to remove the stump, preventing the tree from growing back. 🐛BUGS & TECHNICAL ISSUES • Getting stuck: Looking inside a warehouse chest once left me completely stuck. There was no unstuck option, so I had to kill my character and lose some of my progress. • Animal sounds: Animals sometimes continue making sounds after they die. • Surfaces: Under rain even floor inside of buildings is wet. • Items stacks: Once weapons are stacked in storage and then taken out, they take durability of the worse one. • Other issues: These are just a couple of examples. There are more bugs that still need attention. 🚀PERFORMANCE Performance is another problem. Even on a good PC, a large village can kill your FPS. Sometimes even a simple rain is enough to make things run like crap. 🎵MUSIC & AUDIO I love the music. It helps with my depression and calms me down, which is something I genuinely appreciate about this game. That said, even the soundtrack could benefit from more variety. 🛠️MODDING SUPPORT Please add Steam Workshop support. If the developers don't have the time or resources to address every issue themselves, at least the modding community could help take care of some of these things. ✅WHAT I LIKE • Village building: This is where the game really shines. Building and customizing your own village is satisfying. • Building customization: Being able to change building materials is a great feature. • Sandbox settings: I appreciate having some control over how the game plays. • Music and atmosphere: The setting, style, and soundtrack are a big part of what makes this game great. • New item sets: They're cool additions, but I believe the focus should be elsewhere for now. FINAL THOUGHTS These are just some of the things I've noticed. There are more issues, of course, but there are also good things that make players come back and stay for a while — emphasis on a while. I really like this game, but it still feels like a beta, or perhaps an Early Access title. The village-building aspect feels good, while much of the rest of the game feels abandoned. Many of the issues I've mentioned seem like things that should be relatively straightforward to address, yet we're still dealing with them years after release. The developers seem nice, and they sometimes respond to comments under updates, which I appreciate. However, adding new sets of items is not what the game needs most right now. New item sets are cool, but the devs should focus on other things first. I really like this game and want it to be better. I want to recommend this game someday. In its current state, I just can't.

Half assed Medieval Dynasty with a Japanese aesthetic skin slapped on. I haven't played multi player, but I doubt having another person or two or three would make the game better. Game has been out long enough to where i doubt they're going to patch for any improvements.

悪かった点 [*] UI(UX?)
