The best way to play Duke nukem , wich btw have not only one functional working remaster , shadow Warrior features Lo Wang who is superior to Duke in every way , not only the way of the Wang, The game is first class old shooter with a redicules sence of humor , starting with Wang what is also a Asian pseudonym for , well i think you know if not you will get a clue after you got all related phrases in the games one liners. The Theme is a wide mixture of Asian mostly japanese and chinese steriotypes blended in a satirical frame and a lot of stupid bullshitting , for example most likely American made dysfunctional turrets are commented.For the plot its nothing more than the common 80´s/90´s action movie stuff , outraging company boss reaches out to become the superpower and rule the globe and his employe thats in the know get own a warpath to stop that overture The gameplay is nice fleshed out for an 1997 one , plays better than nuke em , got also nukes but mostly all the weapons you would expect.Main differnces are the level of brainusage thats needed to push forward the levels and the Akimbo stiled ones like those beautyfull Uzi ,Ninja nades and more and the throwables. For meele you can go for karate kid fists or much better the Katana.Enemy variety is given, you get gore , wtf stiled one liners ,cool guns ,Asian siuciderbombers , hot chicks and a horny granny that send explicet messages and stalk you , that all in an allready upscaled monitor width and heigh siutable to actual monitor resulutions what you not get back is your missing hair but get over it you have fortune cookies

A classic in its own right, lots of gory fun that I honestly want to see more of in boomer shooters today.

Прошел почти на платину вот эту игру, последние 2 достижения это дополнения, может когда нить до пройду. Древний бумерский шутер, где всегда непонятно что делать и куда идти

I've played the if you will call it the modern Re-Imagining of the Shadow Warrior games made in the same vein of Doom (2016), Doom Eternal, and Doom: The Dark Ages. Enjoyable, but again I find myself buying Boomer Shooter games so I went back to the original Shadow Warrior. On discount, it was not a hard decision. Shadow Warrior Classic Redux remastered with two expansion packs, for a very good discount price was too tempting. It plays like Duke Nukem 3D, Doom the Original and other Doom Clones such as Heretic and Hexen which I am enjoying thoroughly. The simplicity of these sorts of games can pass a lot of time, exploring for secrets, keys to open up the map more and of course just doing what a Boomer Shooter expects of you. Even not at discounted price, it is a reasonable price of £8.50 but I got it for just 85p. What more can you want in this day and age of AAA games costing you a good chunk of your wages most months. It's gory, it's retro and at times can be quite calming with 90's-esque humour. Finding a new weapon, or kimbo Uzi's does really give you enjoyable gaming time. If you're a fan of Doom, the Doom Clones, Duke Nukem 3D it's a safe bet you probably played Shadow Warrior in the 1990's but I did not. If you have not played it then it's worth it without a thought if on discount, but for full price it's still a steal that I would recommend. 7/10

Shadow Warrior Classic Redux is one of the great old-school ego-shooters of the late 20th century. (Feel old already?). It gave you everything a kids or teenager heart ever wanted: A ninja sword, Shuriken (Ninja stars), Double Uzis and a Rocket Launcher that could launch a nuclear bomb. With that arsenal you would bath the world in blood and gore as well as gawk at semi erotic pictures of women and anime girl characters, all the while your character made a lot of inappropriate jokes in bad taste. And it all was rated for adults… ahhh the good old time. You play Lo-Wang the Shadow Warrior. He is a master of the melee and armed combat. An old Warrior following an antient path, with the humor and the self-restrained of a 13-year-old badly supervised teenager. And while I am sure that this game has a story, all I can tell after playing it over the decades is, that “Zilla sends his regards…” (First level, first 3 seconds of the game) and then a lot of people and monster have to die (including Zilla). If you are interested in this game, you either played it when it was “new” or you really must be into very old ego-shooters. For today standards the graphics is bad and strange, maybe so strange it could be considered art again. Also, it is fascinating to see what they achieved with theses compared to today limited options regarding level design and atmosphere. So, if you are here for some old-school, politically incorrect fun: Settle in, whip out your… sword… only your sword… (please) and never forget "You no mess with Lo Wang!" Hiiiijaaaa!

It has a few of the problems I have with classic boom shoots (some levels having cryptic progression and me getting lost, bosses just being circle strafe bullet sponge fights, and random difficulty spikes due to enclosed space mob fights) but it has some of my favorite aesthetics, music and weapons in classic boom shooters. So, good stuff.
