One of the best if not the best 4X games ever made. I did sink hundrets of hours into this back in the day. Stellar writing and not one voice line from sean bean! i dont know why some people are complaingin about bugs and crashes. i run this on a modern win11 PC nad have no issues.

I love the heck out of this RTS, it's incredible for its time and is definitely a 9/10 fun-wise - however it's completely unplayable on Windows 11 in the Steam library - any game that NEEDS you to mod it for it to function on a baseline level does not deserve your money; you have to either run it on Windows 10, download two seperate GOG versions to get both the base game and DLC, or download the Thinker Mod that completely salvages the unplayability from Windows 11 and Firaxis' abandonment of the game (which is the best option because they also updated the sound design and 800x600 display limitation. However I this also means I CAN'T LOG OR NOTE MY PLAYED HOURS! Only buy this on Steam if you're really bothered to do all that AND if it's on special. Luckily I got the classic for peanuts, but it should be remastered by Firaxis, if ever. Technical rubbish aside, it's a cult-classic RTS and a nice way to pass the time if you're into 90's-era sci-fi cheese and strategy games.

I bought this game when it first came out nearly 30 years ago - it is just as good, maybe better, than most 4x games made today.

Il mio strategico a turni preferito di sempre. Lo consiglio perché ci ho giocato per decenni, sin dalla sua uscita originale. Detto ciò, posso comprendere se chi lo approccia per la prima volta oggi non lo gradirà.
