Simple&Sweet Sometimes you get a desire to play an arcade racer. Something simple, light and fun. Surprisingly there aren't that many games out there, especially when you also want it to be good. This is one such game where you can just install, get easily into game and quit just after 5 minutes feeling satisfied. 🏎️Stylish Drifter🏎️ Game is just as much about its style, retro appearance as it's about racing. It uses 2D graphics, but does it well. Unlike old games, this one actually looks nice, highlighting that games of old looked badly mostly due to skill issue of the developers. Game has several characters who respond to your slipstream, throw their one liners. I wish that there was just more of dialogue. It gets repetitive fast. It's also not finished as doctor for example doesn't have a line when you use Slipstream. One which was supposed to find it the most interesting... Gameplay manages to retain its casual nature by having Slipstream mechanic. Game allows to come back from mistakes by a generous turn back time mechanic. Someone in reviews were confused about it, didn't knew how long you have to reverse time before mistake happened. It's simple, use it to the maximum. Though, for some people even reversing time in game or IRL wouldn't be enough to keep them from making same exact mistakes again. As for gameplay, it's mostly about not making mistakes in keeping up maximum speed. Then game gives very generous turns which are only feasible with drifting. With Automatic it's easy to do. Then you slide, you need to pick up the angle and know how much to drift in order to avoid incoming traffic. It's fun game to do when you want to relax or have something else in the background. Played while talking to a friend and my 2.6 hours spent with the game didn't felt long. That is saying a lot, because a lot of games, even more complex and expensive ones are so badly made that you just don't want to play them. They do not have any idea about game development basics and are trying to fly before they can crawl. All I can say about this game is that it certainly knows how to crawl! Flawed despite reception Initially I wanted to give this game a negative review. First of all, there isn't any keyboard control. Like why? Why developer is so incredibly lazy that it cannot bind WASD keys himself? Then a person is dum dum, he will do such dumb things in life. Then I tried it later with different PC and plugging proper Xbox controller. It still didn't worked! Precisely, only Automatic game mode works. Manual doesn't. It's impossible to enter into drift mode. You only got partial drift with manual and ability to turn it into full drift mode is bugged. You repeat same actions with a car and most of the time it doesn't enter into a full drift. Then randomly you can move directional joystick and it will easily enter into drift mode. Developer clearly didn't bothered testing Manual mode at all nor keyboard support. Usually I would leave a negative review over it and it would be truly deserved. If your product lacks basic features then it still sucks and what the hell you are doing with your game? Good for a small distraction There isn't much content. You will experience everything in few hours. Then you might just play for the sake of it or for 100% completion. Considering that game is roughly 10 euros, it's kinda pricey for what it's asking. But hey, gaming market despite exploding still has surprisingly few games when you start actually filtering what you would like to play. Good games are few and this is a good game. So, drop your pants, bend over and start paying! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3811395343 Biomes are small and doesn't have that much imagery to keep you entertained. You fly past them. Game has plenty of games modes, but few of them are actually worthwhile playing. Gran touring, the one where you race through five biomes of your choice is the best. Then that is it. Single race can put more contestants, make more traffic and change other settings. Then things like Elimination have no real reason to be there. They play very similarly to Single Race for all purposes. Likewise, mode where you upgrade your vehicle is also completely lackluster. You don't get it to upgrade from a starter car to overpowered hyper car. Nor mechanics are smartly made, just your typical 'win more' lazy slop. And at the end, there are like 6 cars. They look apart, play differently. However, Lynx (one with highest top speed) is clearly the best in this gme if you can avoid making mistakes. Even for an arcade, there is too little complexity. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered also had just few stats to toy around, but they managed to make actual meta and different cars actually to have strengths and weaknesses. There weren't a clearly best car for best players like in this game. A little more complexity and more cars would had been perfect. Largely deserved reputation Game is expensive for what it has to offer, but it delivers what it promises. Graphics are great in places. Gameplay loop works. Game is fun to play, easy to get into. It fits perfectly when you want something simple to race. Game is also aims for a niche audience in retro drifting. Developer has this sub-genre firmly locked down and his game is good. Just get controller (don't even dream about wheel) and set game to Automatic drifting as it doesn't support anything else. I don't know how this game flew under my radar for so long, given that it features my favorite car. But even if it didn't have a 300ZX on the cover art, I don't think I'd love this game any less. The rest of the cars are rad too, btw, and be sure to check out the Steam Workshop for some more. I can't say enough good things about this game. The tracks are beautifully drawn, diverse, and creative. I love the rival characters. The soundtrack is a mix of what sound like YM2612 beats and "lo fi beats to relax and drift to." It's like someone reached into my head and pulled a racing game out of it. Drifting feels great, just turn the analog deadzone down (25% is too high I think). Once you get a feel for the controls and physics, it becomes incredibly satisifying to slide through track after track. The different game modes give it a ton of replayability, and I love the way Grand Tour lets you select tracks by selecting highway exit lanes to take. I can't believe more people don't know about this game. If the previews look even vaguely interesting to you, just buy it, its absolutely worth every penny

Pros: + beautiful synthwave nostalgia + great arcade feel + good amount of game modes + perfect, short sessions of gameplay Cons: - too easy - encountering all the routes seems unreasonable - difference in the car performance is so small it doesnt really affect gameplay
