Keeping this brief: if you are into JRPGs and have not played Suikoden II yet, you are missing out. This port is great, despite a few imperfections and a questionable decision or two that do not maim the whole significantly. It is an overall significant improvement over the originals, which were riddled with major bugs and had awkward translations (looking at the exclamation mark abuse in the original second game).

I rarely put review, but I'll say this over and over again. Suikoden is the best JRPG franchise ever. Nobody could beat that. This game molded my values as a person - on how loyalty, friendship, trust, love, ambitions, and life should be. I just hope Konami would answer a lot of unanswered lore in the game in the future.

终于两部都全成就通关了，感觉挺不容易的。这应该是我那么多游戏里唯一一个预购的游戏，为数不多的原价买的游戏。一年多前发现这个合集开始预购，家庭群里有个老朋友说这是他的童年最喜欢的游戏，虽然我以前没玩过，还是毫不犹豫直接买了，等到发行了我就叫他先玩。可惜他也是没有太多时间玩游戏了，陆陆续续玩了很久一代玩了一半就告诉我，他暂时先不玩了，于是我开始玩。一开始觉得这个游戏是真好玩，但是也发现不看攻略几乎要玩不下去，不说成就，有些地方根本过都过不去。于是一路看着攻略按部就班打出一代真结局，二代继承存档，再打出二代真结局。中途印象比较深刻的除了一些剧情还有某几个小游戏成就，有点麻烦有点难。最后觉得有点意犹未尽，好游戏真的就是出品三十年之后仍然让人觉得好玩。

我心目中Jrpg前十，主角拥有所有JRPG游戏主角都梦寐以求的即死技，夜神月直呼内行。108个将星也是各有特色，招募将星当义军统领，和武将单挑，扩建基地以及一代大战略和二代的战旗玩法也是首屈一指，游戏不需要刻意刷级而且还有喜闻乐见的读博发家致富SL大法之类的，所以难度并不高，剧情虽然有点平淡但是没有难以接受的地方。总之是JRPG黄金时代的代表作！

Suikoden 1 is an old game but a good story and can play through 15-25 hours depending. Fun aspects. Suikoden 2 is widely considered the best in the series and is up there with my all time favorite RPG games

Steam says 276.4 hours. That’s cute. It wasn’t there for my original PlayStation days. 😂 I’ve loved Suikoden since its original PlayStation release, and I spent even more hours playing back then than I have on this version. These games have been part of my life for years, and somehow, coming back still turns into “just a little longer” until half the night is gone. Recruiting the 108 Stars of Destiny, watching headquarters fill up, hearing that music again—it all brings me right back. And the story STILL gets me. I know what’s coming. I’ve been through this before. Apparently, that offers absolutely no protection. This was never going to be a quick nostalgia trip. It was always going to be me getting completely hooked all over again. 276.4 hours on Steam, countless more on PlayStation, and I’d happily do it again. That’s how much I love Suikoden.

I never played these as a kid so I dont have nostalgia for them. But playing them as an adult they are abolsolutely wonderful.

I'll make this clear. I only voted no IF you're going to play the game vanilla. I don't think it's worth it. The sprites aren't HD, theres no QOL updates, you might as well just emulate the original. However IF you download the fix mod, and the Kyaros graphics mod, the game is definitely a buy. The fix mod itself will give you save anywhere and give you a ton of options you can configure. Edit. Nawh ♥♥♥♥ it, Lost a major character during a rock papers scissors battle without knowing they could perma die there. I'm done with this ♥♥♥♥.
