Mysterious city of London, the beginning of the 20th century. A series of terrible ritual murders shakes London and young detective James Voodoo takes over the case. He faces the inexplicable events while investigating the case, and realizes that these murders are only the tip of the iceberg. An ominous plan, which is embodied by a group of conspirators, stands behind this all.

James collects evidence related to the murder, and sees that they are directly connected with the abnormal events in the city. Unusual and never previously seen objects and creatures appear at every turn. Some supernatural forces begin to break into this world and destroy it.

James finds out that a billionaire and philanthropist Coins is the main person, who is involved in these ritual murders.

Being obsessed with immortality, the crazy billionaire is willing to do anything, even to destroy our world. Using the brilliant scientist and coldblooded killer as his own tools, he seeks to conduct an ancient ritual, which combines two formerly separated worlds. He is ready to destroy everything just for the sake of his own survival. And only you, as a brave detective James Voodoo, can stop Coins and his associates.

Taken Souls: Blood Ritual Collector's Edition próbuje połączyć klasyczną przygodówkę hidden object z kryminalną historią, horrorem i elementami nadprzyrodzonymi. Sam pomysł ma potencjał, ale wykonanie niestety pozostawia sporo do życzenia. Akcja rozgrywa się w XIX-wiecznym Londynie, gdzie próbujemy rozwikłać serię tajemniczych morderstw powiązanych z krwawym rytuałem. Mroczne ulice, miejsca zbrodni i okultystyczne motywy początkowo tworzą całkiem przyjemną atmosferę. Rozgrywka opiera się na eksploracji, zbieraniu przedmiotów, scenach hidden object oraz rozwiązywaniu licznych zagadek i minigier. Niestety wiele z nich jest bardzo prostych, a część rozwiązań mało intuicyjna. Zamiast satysfakcji z prowadzenia śledztwa często wykonujemy po prostu kolejne typowe czynności znane z dziesiątek podobnych produkcji. Problemem jest również ogólne niedopracowanie. Animacje są sztywne, interfejs potrafi być niewygodny, a historia mimo ciekawego początku szybko staje się przewidywalna. Collector's Edition dodaje trochę zawartości, ale nie rozwiązuje podstawowych problemów gry. Największa szkoda dotyczy niewykorzystanego klimatu. Wiktoriański Londyn, seryjne morderstwa i okultyzm mogły stworzyć naprawdę świetną przygodówkę, ale Taken Souls nie wykorzystuje w pełni żadnego z tych elementów. Na rynku hidden object znajdziemy wiele znacznie bardziej dopracowanych i ciekawszych produkcji. Ciekawy pomysł, przeciętne wykonanie i zdecydowanie zbyt dużo niewykorzystanego potencjału. Nie polecam.

A bug ridden unplayable mess. I've heard that others have reached a point where the game is unwinnable, but in its released state its certainly unplayable. When you crash about 10 times in half an hour its inexcusable. Even for a low budget game this is absolutely inexcusable and should never have been allowed on the steam marketplace
