Pretty good short point and click. Great art style but insanely slow walking speed.

The presentation and music was pretty nice, but the snail-like pacing of everything killed any enjoyment I could have had.

A meditative puzzle-adventure set inside a beautifully crafted Japanese pop-up book. It follows a nameless hero through a 2.5D papercraft world, folding pages and manipulating the scenery to restore a dying cherry tree by recovering its fallen blossoms. Blending point-and-click adventure, side-scrolling exploration and light environmental puzzles, it evokes Kentucky Route Zero and Superbrothers: Swords & Sorcery EP, yet never fully develops its inspired paper-folding mechanic. After the initial novelty, progression relies on conventional movement and glowing hotspots, while interactions remain limited. Most puzzles amount to simple environmental manipulations, trial and error, hidden-symbol combination locks (sometimes without any indication that hidden symbols are even the solution), with only one clever terrain-folding puzzle. Others feel arbitrary (such as the bell sequence), some mechanics ignore the world's papercraft logic (like transferring fire between torches), and interactive objects often blend into the scenery. The concept suggests something closer to Paper Mario or Monument Valley, but its paper-folding mechanics rarely evolve beyond their initial novelty. Slow walking, excessive backtracking, simplistic interactions, stiff animations, sparse interactivity, and interface quirks ("Esc" not opening the menu) betray the game's mobile origins. Beyond the symbolic quest, the story is told through a few cutscenes and seasonal haiku, but its minimalism feels underwritten rather than poetic, leaving the protagonist, motivations, and abrupt ending emotionally distant. Likewise, its Japanese influence remains mostly aesthetic, lacking the cultural depth of Year Walk. The handcrafted paper world is gorgeous, with a pastel palette, textured paper and tactile pop-up animations reminiscent of Lumino City, although the visuals evolve little beyond their striking first impression. David Wise's gentle Japanese-inspired soundtrack perfectly complements the atmosphere despite occasional abrupt transitions. Tengami strives for the elegance of a haiku, but too often mistakes simplicity for emptiness. 3.5/10
