The Pit: Infinity

The Pit: Infinity is a cooperative rpg with first-person-shooter controls and roguelike permadeath. It is meant to be played solo, or cooperatively with up to three friends together.

Players will take on the role of a Marine, Scout or Engineer character and enter the Pit, a high-tech dungeon in which diabolical experiments are performed on life forms gathered from all over the galaxy.

Game Features: Start as one of three unique Characters, each with different Attributes, Skills and Items!

Explore procedurally generated hallways, rooms and biomes!

Battle monsters and robots to gain experience and loot!

Open locked doors and rifle through alien treasure troves, seeking supplies, ammunition and gear!

Gain Levels to improve your Attributes and Skills!

Collect components and craft new items to improve your chances of survival!

Delve as deep into the Pit as you can, before you’re horribly killed! Each new floor becomes more challenging and progressively more difficult to beat.

There's a reason why Bethesda stopped using stats to determine chance to hit in their action RPGs after Morrowind. That and the game is janky and ugly even without taking into consideration all the playability issues of trying to incorporate the original game's roguelike turnbased mechanics into a real time game.

As of 2026, enemies still get stuck on corners or refuse to enter certain rooms. But please give this game a chance. There is nothing quite like this game out there, I believe. It's incredibly difficult (as a Rogue-Like is supposed to be), and there is almost no limit in how good you can get at playing it. It's been a while a game has given me this much adrenaline. Please also play the turn-based Sword of the Stars: The Pit. You just might sink 4000 hours into it, like I have.
