I've been waiting for a game like this for a long time. There is no other game that comes close to what this game is, and it seems like some people are confused as to what this game is. First off, this game is NOT a simulator, but it does a fantastic job of being one nonetheless. It's not 100% realistic, but it isn't trying to be. The pursuits and shootouts aren't realistic, but they are FUN. It's like an over the top action movie at times, and while I usually prefer realism, I absolutely love it. It's what I imagine being a cop in GTA would be like. What this game is, is a sandbox police patrol experience in a gritty 1980's city. You aren't a detective, you aren't looking for clues or solving crimes, you're out working a beat, and responding to crimes as they happen. No other game or mod comes close to doing this as well as The Precinct does. Like many others, I'm not a fan of the top-down perspective, but I quickly got over it because this game is just too good. I have another 50 hours in this game on Xbox, so add that to my total on Steam, and I'm well over 100 hours in at the time of writing this review. This game has a story, and it's serviceable, but that's not what draws me in. You start off as a rookie, and you have to do a few training shifts before you're allowed to choose your shift, but once you can do that, that's where this game really shines. You can choose from a variety of shift types, foot patrol, vehicle patrol, parking enforcement, and so on, and the city is split into patrol sectors, which you will unlock by solving crimes or writing parking tickets. Eventually the entire city will be available for most shift types, but I prefer staying in a smaller sector, even now. You can complete the main story at your own pace, or ignore it. The sandbox shifts are always available, but the story is definitely worth playing. Most of it occurs during your regular shifts. I absolutely adore this game, and the developer has been very active, pushing new updates and bug fixes regularly. Every single update has been free, despite many being comparable to full DLC add-ons that other developers would charge for. They are always adding new content, I'm sure they're working on something new for us right now. If you need to constantly unlock achievements and earn rewards to enjoy a game, this probably isn't for you. If you constantly need to be stimulated with something new, this probably isn't for you, either. If you want to put on the badge and patrol the streets of Averno City, keeping its residents safe from the criminals running loose, then you need this game. There is nothing else like it.

The game is awesome and definitely has some really neat systems going for it, however it feels weird not to have an option for co-op as it the game feels like it could really benefit from it. I wish my AI partner could instead just be a friend and we work together to tackle crime in the city.

На самом деле довольно богатая на контент, дает много возможностей играть так, как захочется самому. Но очень плохо удерживает интерес, ибо спамит событиями на каждом шагу. Отсутствует ценность от каждого раскрытого преступления, это просто дает чуть чуть экспы и все. А экспа... Ради экспы можно буквально приехать к стрипухе и повязать +/- всех афроамериканцев вокруг нее, параллельно проверив отсутствие [ДАННЫЕ УДАЛЕНЫ] в труселях у стриптизерш. Это будет эффективнее, чем гоняться за самими преступлениями. Другая проблема - нет уникальных событий никаких, кроме короткого и, едва существующего, сюжета. Остается надежда на светлое будущее у игрульки или на выход более доработанной второй части. В подобной тематике это, имхо, пока один из лучших проектов.

The play style, as in shift-to-shift precinct style is nostalgic to former GTA style games. Also has a 80's theme that really does fit the game play. The story line really fits the "play for fun" concept that really makes you want to sign on to run a few shifts. The cars drive like they are older, same with the police gear. I will say I wish I could search suspects while patrol is running a background check. Also, the cars disappear rather too quickly if the suspect does get about a block away. The game could use a more "behind the character" camera angle, because it is a little weird playing from birds eye view. Can we also add k9 with partner? I would also like to call 1 backup when pulling up to certain scenes. Maybe if you let us store 2 call points from last incident? Otherwise this game is outstanding! Really enjoy this game. Ha it for a while and out of all my other games, I had no problem remembering the controls so naturally.

The game has had quite a few updates recently, but after you've played for a while, just hopping on occasionally can get a bit boring. Really hoping the developers add friend multiplayer—this would make it way more fun and extend the time you'd want to play

Absolutley fantastic police "sim" - great music, fantastic art style and exciting open world. If it was not given to me as a gift I'd deff buy it.

Неужели за долгое время неплохой сим песочница городских служб. Скорую даже добавили, осталось увидеть пожарную охрану и это будет точно один из лучших симов в данной нише. Да не всем может понравиться изометрическая камера, но привыкнуть можно. Своих денег стоит, рекомендую любителям вайбов старых частей GTA, только тут вы уже играете за исполнителей правосудия.
