Trigger Warning: Heavy psychological themes incl. mental health crisis I noticed all the positive reviews and really got curious to play this game myself, and well..that was truly a bizarre 20 minutes of my life. There is no explanation for anything, but the atmosphere simply carries it all. To me, this game is definitely art. "the static speaks my name" manages to capture deep and all-consuming human feelings (like not belonging anywhere, being misunderstood, feeling like a disappointment to the people around, and an inner emptiness and numbness that makes life itself might feel not worth living)—and stylistically executed them through the setting itself. It's the story of a man who takes his own life by hanging himself with a noose, and these 20 minutes summarize what emotions may drive many people to take this step. The setting reflects every single one of the above mentioned feelings perfectly. From barricaded windows and doors, TVs playing static, and numbing online sex chats, to a complete loss of morals and empathy—everything is well-delivered through atmosphere and gameplay and offers a very intimate glimpse into the protagonist's final minutes. While that, the game still manages to take itself not too seriously, and adds a little dose of humor to the story, without being disrepectul to such a sensitive topic. A short and minimalistic, morbid journey about the abysses of the mind that once more reminds us that arthouse games bring a much-needed breath of fresh creative air to the industry.

A disturbing but powerful look at depression and emotional detachment. The mundane tasks, like cleaning and browsing, feel almost absurd when you consider what is happening beneath the surface. That disconnect is what makes the game so unsettling and surprisingly relatable for some people.

The attention to detail in insane, the atmosphere is terrifying. There's a constant feeling that something will jump at you, but nothing ever happens. It's so short and shocking, left me with the "was that it" feeling, yet it perfectly fits into the story. Truly a bizarre experience.

This was NOT a funny exploration game. Dark, sad and weird sure. It is very short and I replayed it three times because each time I was scared that there would be jumpscares and ended up leaving mid-game only to start over a minute later. There were no jumpscares, but the background music and the whole atmosphere were very creepy, diving into a mentally unstable man's final moments, surrounded by obsession. It was interesting but disturbing (poor shrimps) and not enjoyable, so I would not really recommend.

just a normal day in my life, wake up, go to the toilet, eat my pet shrimps, clean my microwave, electrocute some dude i keep in a cage and proceed to hang myself.
