While the game mechanic and realisation are still very enjoyable, the game was way easier and shorter than the first one. I spent 15h on the first, while I got the 100% of this one in only 3.5h. Everything is straight forward, not much thinking needed, every animal is easy to spot, and overall less surprising than TOEM 1 with less locations to visit. I liked it, but was expecting a longer adventure, or more diversity in the situations and places visited, especially while knowing that the core gameplay was already implemented in the first game.

To get this out of the way, this is a good game. It's still just as charming and fun as the first game. However, it really does not feel like a fully fleshed out sequel to the first game, rather just an expansion. The Game is much shorter than the first game, I finished it just under four hours. The original took me twice as long to finish. The first Toem has 6 areas (and 1 DLC area). This game has 5. If you take away the starter areas and the ending areas, the main playable areas are 4 to 3. These new levels feel much smaller and more streamlined. The gameplay is also considerably easier. In the first game I had to use a guide to solve some of the puzzles. In Toem 2 every thing is just laid out in really obvious spots and places. Most of the quests are just, "pick up some items off the ground", or press the A button on something, or "hang this thing wherever you feel like it there's no solution", or "go take a picture of this specific thing". The character in the comedy club is a great example. He has a joke about bicycles, but he can't remember what they look like. He pretty much just tells you to take a picture of one of the many bikes around the level. Many solutions are like this, where you are simply told to do something and not think about it too much. The new "mechanics'" of this game are the tools and the Jump button, but to be fair they did not really do much with the mechanics. Tools are simple puzzles and only usable in the level they are found in. Jumping just adds some verticality to the worlds, but most of the jumping "puzzles" are really simple. I am torn because I really want to support this series and really loved the first game, but I cannot recommend this game at full price. Wait for a sale. It's just too short, too easy, and too shallow.

It really hurts to leave a negative review. The game was lovely—similar to the first one, but not quite as good. It was very short; I managed to 100% it in just 4.3 hours. That’s despite playing very slowly and taking my time. Just like in the first game, you get camera upgrades in the sequel, but in TOEM 2, these were region-specific; once you were done with that area, they became useless and were nerver brouth up again I also want to say that puzzle were not as intristing as in TOEM 1 but that could be personal Preference. I also have to say that the ending of the first game was far more memorable. Spoiler: In the first game, you climb a high mountain that offers a view of another brightly glowing peak. In the second, there isn't a real "challenge"—or rather, it just doesn't evoke the same feeling as the first one. It’s simply a tree bursting into colorful bloom—only this time, you aren't alone. Verdict: It is a beautiful, artistic game, has beautiful music and lovebl Characters even though it is very short; still, it makes for a lovely sequel. as much as i want to give a positiv review cause i really liked it, I expected more saddly A bit short and underwhelming for nearly €20.

I played the demo right when it came out and had been eagerly waiting for the release of the full game. I've played through Toem 1 dozens of times and the experience it offered was immersive and the gameplay felt new. Every puzzle felt rewarding to solve, and everywhere you looked something was crawling or flying or swaying. Your camera had filters and your album had titles! Toem 2 removed all the detail and heart and replaced it with jumping. If you played the demo, you played the game almost as a whole. I've played Toem 2 a few times over, but there just isn't anything to explore. I love Toem 1 with all my heart and I was so thrilled for Toem 2, but i would have waited longer if it meant a longer, fuller game.

As someone who is a big fan of the original game, especially considering it is one of my favourite games of all time. I have to unfortunately give this a not recommend. My main issue with this game is the difficulty. I feel everything is spelled out for you and it's way easier that the first. I'm not expecting the hardest puzzles in the world, but I was expecting more difficulty here. I remember having to think in TOEM 1 when solving puzzles and having that aha moment when I figured something out. I'm not getting the same thing here. Everything else about the game, the art, the music and the overall charm is still there, However, I'm going to have to refund as I cannot get over the fact about how easy this game is. I feel bad as I would like to support the devs here, however I cannot recommend this game at full price.

Absolutely loved my time with TOEM 2. This game is just as wonderful as the original, and the new areas were delightful to explore. The same charm was still very much there, with new additions like jumping and tools that made it feel refreshingly new. My only critiques were it lacked some of the features from the original, and didn't add anything in their place (the cosmic cubes, the shiny character portraits etc.) I was also hoping it would be a little longer than TOEM, or even similar in the amount of areas, but it was slightly shorter. I do hope they add some more to it in the future. Otherwise, the core gameplay is lovely and it still remains one of my favourite games. Would recommend playing TOEM first, if you love that, you'll love the sequel

I want to love this game more, but I can't stop comparing it to the first game that just felt better in a lot of ways. Some of the fun and magic is still found in TOEM 2, but the world feels so much smaller and the game is way shorter than the first one, even if you take your sweet time just looking around and having photoshoots. I was surprised that a lot of the stuff we saw in the trailer was pretty much what the game has to offer, which was a bit disappointing to see. I thought once we would get all the tools we would have to combine those tool using skills in a new area, as I thought there would me more to explore, but got surprised when I loaded the game in and had 90% of it already finished on the save file after exploring just 3 areas. It's still a fun game and I love the updated graphics, songs, fun characters, funny references to pop culture and outfits, but I do feel like the full price is a bit too much so definitely get it on sale to get more of your moneys worth in regards to the play time. I highly recommend getting the first game and playing through that. And then if you feel like you want a bit more TOEM in your life, try this one out, but be prepared that it might not be as magical experience as the first installment.
