DO NOT BUY! This game is broken. Or more its servers. You can rarely start a game because the servers wont respond. Most of the time you'll get stuck in the loading screen. Tried to get my money back but steam refused to do so even tho they sold a broken game. Steam said its my fault but all my friends who bought this game (we wanted to play it together) have the same problem!

Where the first game is great fun, they managed to screw it over in number 2 with worse controls just taking away the fun and the hero feelings. Buy the first game and leave this one to rest, after all you are more likely to buy these games for the flying than for the story.

1. To solve "Error 1", install the UbiSoft Launcher from Redist. 2. To solve the "launcher stopped working" error, set all EXEs that belong to the game AND to the UbiSoft launcher to Compatibility with XP and Admin privileges. 3. To solve the "no network" error, close the game, open the UbiSoft launcher, click Settings -> Go Offline, and also in options, mark "Always start offline". 4. To solve the problem where mission 1 doesn't load and it throws you back to the main menu, re-check your Steam files AND your game files, *even if you just freshly installed*. EDIT: Game still is randomly unplayable, even if the above procedures helped for a while. Deleting now and contacting support. I still do not recommend this game, though. Sub-par graphics, terrible soundtrack and voice acting, arcade controls. HAWX 1 was better.

Man könnte sagen, dass dieses Spiel gut ist. Man könnte es aber auch lassen, denn eigentlich ist es richtig schlecht. Das Gameplay und Missionsdesign sind deutlich langweiliger als im Vorgänger, die Grafik erinnert an GoogleMaps, und das Gameplay ist so erfrischend Abwechslungsreich wie Leitungswasser aus zwei Hähnen in einem Haus. Leichte Nuancenunterschiede und doch zum Teil leicht verkalkt. Zur Story. Anfangs dachte ich sie sei richtig schlecht, doch später entwickelte sich eine überraschend innovative Geschichte, die zwar vorhersehbar aber von einigen Wendungen durchzogen und nicht mal so schlecht in Szene gesetzt wurde. Aber im letzten Drittel bricht das Ganze ein, dass man denkt, man spielt einen U-Bahnführer anstatt einem Kampfpiloten. Jedes nur erdenkliche Klischee wird mitgenommen, keine Stereotypel ausgelassen, und das Elend wird von einem Ende gekrönt, welches spannend sein will, aber es ums verrecken nicht schafft sich selbst ernst zu nehmen, obwohl dies nicht einmal positiv ist. Jede Art der Spannung wird duch konsequente dahinschluderei vernichtet, und geht im Einheitsbrei des restlichen, mit der Zeit einödenden Gameplays, unter. Danach kommt noch der Gedanke, noch einen Storyhöhepunkt einzubauen, dem es an jeder Logik fehlt und der so schlecht umgesetzt wird, und an der eigenen Steuerung scheitert, dass man eigentlich nur noch resigniert über diesen Blödsinn schmunzeln oder vor Wut schreien muss. Das Leveling wurde überarbeitet und ist eigentlich nur noch für den Multiplayer relevant, funktioniert auch einigermaßen, wenn man sich diesem Trauerspiel denn annehmen will. Es wurden Funktionen aus dem ersten Teil gestrichen, die Story ist einfach nur noch dämlich, auch wenn sie tatsächlich drei bis vier sehr sehr gute Missionen hatte, die auch wirklich fesselten. Ein Höhepunkt, wie die Schlacht um Washington, Rio, oder dem Finale, bleibt einem hier verwehrt. Allerdings erkennt man einige Missionen wieder, die jedoch nicht zitiert werden, um den Spieler in ein leichtes nostalgisches Schwelgen zu versetzen, sondern werden so dreist kopiert, dass man sich ans Hirn langen möchte. Das man im Laufe der Gefechte, hunderte Gegner vom Himmel holt oder mit Bomben vernichtet, sehe ich jedoch nicht als Kritikpunkt an, da es sich hier auch nicht um eine Simulation handelt sondern um ein Arcade-Flugzeug Gedöns. Mein Tipp: Kauft euch den ersten Teil und erfreut euch daran und stellt euch vor, wie eine gute Fortsetzung aussehen könnte, und spielt niemals Hawx2 an, dann habt ihr vermutlich das perfekte Spielerlebnis, dass ihr in diesem Genre haben könnt.

The game is fairly average and while it can definately be fun at times, the DRM and bugs kill it The game will not remember your controller map between restarts which is mildly annoying, this is nothing compared to the crippling uPlay DRM issues. Getting the game to install and run was a trial that took me multiple attempts. This involved editing ini files and installing/uninstalling/installing uplay manualy After playing a few sessions I got to a mission where it would start to load then kick you back to the main menu. This effectively made the game impossible to complete without starting again. At this point I didnt bother look for a fix, just uninstalled and purged uplay. I will never buy another ubisoft game

Let's get the negative out the way: the Uplay third party DRM; it sucks big time. I cannot play Hawx 2 at all if I run from Steam, I have to run directly from Uplay. This means I can't use the DX11 feature. Many other people simply can't get it to run. Check the Steam forum. Maybe they could if they started directly from Uplay, don't know. Once Hawx 2 is up and running, it's a great arcade jet combat game. Not to be taken seriously, and probably not as good as Hawx. There's slim pickings for this type of game on Steam currently, though.

Don't buy this game. It is just a scam to get your money go play H.A.W.X 1 instead. A complete scenario of a programmers nightmare. Bugs everywhere and you need to install a ubisoft launcher (that dosen't work and not autoinstalling like other software that comes with games) then you possibly may need to try that many times before it works (that is how to fix the error code 1 that always come if you don`t have installed it correct). If you get so long then you will meet the campaign error when the game just crashes or closes when you play the campaign or makes you come back to the main menu (now i know why there is no demo this game is just scam). Multiplayer servers are being shut down so i don't even think that you can play multiplayer anymore. Yeah but you can just say to the support that the game is so bugged that you want your money back right? Nope because geuss what steam support sends you to ubisoft support which took me over 3 months to get the first reply from. Then when I reply to that 1 weeks wait time they ask for logs i send them. Then 2 monts wait time because i got a new support person. Then you need to be online all the time due to uplay even though there are singleplayer campaign and first then you will meet all the bugs in the game. 10 € just wasted on a game that will not work. I am never going to buy games from Ubisoft (using uplay) again. The 1 hour steam recorded me playing was while i was trying to fix these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bugs with more.

Hat eine ziemlich kurze Kampagne, die aber sehr abwechlungsreich und fordernd ist! Das Spiel war für mich mal etwas anderes, als immer nur FPS oder RPG's zu spielen! Eine willkommende Abwechslung! Zudem ist die Grafik, zumindest der Flugzeugmodelle, sehr gut! Neben der Kampagne gibt es aber auch noch eine Art Endgame. Hier kann man entweder Online oder alleine Luftschlachten führen! Es macht Spaß umherzufliegen und in einem heißen Gefecht im Modus ,,Überlebenskampf" haufenweise Gegner auszumanövrieren und zu besiegen! Es gibt noch einige andere Spielmodi, auch einen um einfach nur mit den verschiedenen, freischaltbaren Flugzeugmodellen umher zu fliegen, um seine Flugfähigkeiten zu verbessern! Durch die Herausforderungen, wie zum Beispiel schon genannt, der ,,Überlebenskampf", kann man seine Flugzeuge aufleveln und gewisse Eigenschaften verbessern. Hat man genug Punkte, um einen Rang aufzusteigen, dann kann man in einer Tabelle neue Flugzeuge und passive, sowie aktive Ausrüstungsgegenstände freischalten! Macht Spaß und ist durchaus zu empfehlen!
