This route is one of the many that has scenarios and services in which you can't obtain a Gold medal. And not like a couple. A significant portion, even in the Journey mode. Of course, this is a strictly freight route (despite it not being such IRL), and none of the scenarios/services are timed, so this deficiency is easily remedied with those little back-and-forths you have to do to get extra distance and Action Points... or, rather, it would be easily remedied, if not for one of the scenarios (one of the more interesting ones, Equipment Move) being literally uncompletable. I thought things like "incorrect red signals preventing you from progressing" were a thing of the past. Apparently not. Out of 6 scripted scenarios, half are bugged: one can't be finished at all and two can only be completed with a Silver medal when playing the intended way. So that's the scripting stuff out of the way. Now the map itself. It is extremely short. Which would be fine, if it was interesting. It isn't. Most of the services you do amount to driving in a straight line from one nondescript end of the route to the other equally nondescript end without stopping. Exactly how nondescript? Well, one time I didn't pay attention as to which end of the route the service was supposed to start at and ended up a bit surprised when the final checkpoint said "Oakville" instead of "Aldershot." See, the scenery was so bland, I managed to complete the service while thinking I was going in the direction opposite to the one I was actually going in. Not helping things is the fact that of the 30 or so minutes such drives take, 25 can be safely spent away from the monitor doing something productive. Anyway, that's one type of service and about ⅔ of the entire timetable covered. As for the other type: if the service isn't just driving straight from point A to point B, then it probably involves switching cistern cars around some gray industrial yards. Which would be reasonably fun, except those services usually come up 200-300 points short. So you wind up taking an extra 10-15 minutes to slowly back-and-forth your way to a Gold medal. Gets rather aggravating after the fifth time or so. A note regarding ethanol loading: in scripted scenarios you actually get out of the train, go up to a gantry and load the cars. Which is something different, I suppose. However, when you drive the cars into a loading facility during services, you just get a prompt to "Wait for 10m" or "Wait for 20m." Not joking, the game requires you to just sit there for 10 or 20 minutes and imagine that the cars are being loaded. Before you ask: yes, you can go up to the gantry and try to actually load the cars yourself. Key word being "try," as nothing happens when you open the valve. After the pretend "loading" is done, the train's weight doesn't even change. Very immersive. The Steam description uses words such as "bustling" and "busy" to describe this route. Those are, simply put, lies. The so-called "Extensive 24-hour timetable" has a laughable 64 services in it. As a result, the route always looks empty and abandoned. There aren't any AI passenger trains either, despite the route having several passenger stations with passengers on them. Just standing there underneath empty PIS boards, waiting for a train that will never come. In summation: don't. Not even on sale. This route will give you boredom at best and frustration at worst. I paid half the asking price and I still feel ripped off.

Please for the love of god don't buy this. This is genuinely the worst route in the game. There are a few polished turds in this game, but this right here is an unpolished turd, It just flopped out onto the steam store with no attempts made to do anything right, and is sold for $30. An honest disgrace, and something everyone at Dovetail Games should be ashamed of. I only bought it because it was $3, and honestly it still wasn't worth it. I don't know what the hell happened that anyone thought just kicking half of a route out the door was a good idea, and whoever they are I hope everyone involved has found new employment by now. The updates have not saved it, and nothing really could save it except the rest of the line to Toronto. Even then it still would be subpar. Add to that the fact that the assets are copied from Sand Patch, and are not correct for Canada, the rolling stock is crap, the GP9 uses the same sounds from the original RailSimulator GP9 pack from 2009, and the manifest trains are broken. Oh, and the devs have a completely ass-backwards understanding of how industrial switching works. Please don't give anyone any money for this thing.

Very nice route. I did whole GP9rm journey chapter and it was nice time for me. quests are 30-1h with different weather and time. Stock is interesting.

Отличный маршрут. Но пишу, потому что в сценарии "Пересылка локомотивов" в один момент красный не даёт доехать до точки остановки. В видео с прошлых версий там жёлтый. Надеюсь, поправят.

Avoid. Instead, get the base game Train Sim World 6. Then get the corresponding DLC for TSW 2020. Link below. As a Canadian, I love this route. However, I do wish it contained more switching and filling missions, as the actual services are pretty much all the same. Great for short freight missions though.

Being a Canadian myself who lives near this route in the real world, was happy that we finally have a Canadian route. Canadian National is in the top 5 largest railway companies on the planet, so it's disappointing we don't see more of their routes in the sim. However, this route itself isn't that detailed and it's limited to freight. I wish we had some GO Trains or something else added, as for the asking price, it's too expensive for what you get. The scenery is fairly bland too. Only buy at a steep discount, or if you're a diehard CN fan.
