The Class 31 is the best British locomotive DLC for TSW so far. The locomotive itself is nicely modelled both inside and out. The textures are detailed and show the locomotive in the shabby state they so often ended up in. The PCA cement wagon is also included and is again nicely modelled with quality textures. The sounds featured for the Class 31 have been provided by Armstrong Powerhouse and sound excellent. There was a bug with the audio on release, this however has been corrected with a patch as of 20/11/19. I love opening the windows and listening to the English Electric engine working hard! The physics are fairly realistic, within the limitations of DTG's Simugraph engine at least. The locomotive behaves as you'd expect it to, with no obvious physics faux pas. The 3 scenarios are based around freight operations on the Tees Valley Line and are quite entertaining. Also provided in Service mode are additional freight workings as well as passenger workings for TVL, with the Class 31 being used to haul a defective Class 101 DMU over the route. If you own the West Somerset Railway DLC the Class 31 will also be availble to use in Service mode on there too. Unfortunately the Class 31 cannot be used on the Northern Trans-Pennine route. This is really the only negative about this DLC. Overall, if you enjoy British traction and you already own the Tees Valley Line, I'd certainly recommend this DLC.

The loco is nice overall, model, sounds I'll give a 9/10 or more. As always for the latest DTG packages, the gameplay part is a shame. Well under-utilized. 3 scenarios + 2 back and forth timetable scenarios, one for passengers and one for freight (repeated 3 times, but still..). I feel that for a paying DLC this is just a joke.

我真的怀疑DTG最优秀的资源是不是都投入到了德国相关的开发项目，以至于本家英国的线路和机车也一作不如一作？ 这车的旅行模式章节是独立的。教学关初见时，这车外观真的是久经沧桑，可以说是接近报废了。登车的细节动作好评，关门声不厚重，如同木门一般（滑稽）。驾驶室内给人感觉像是封存车一般，操纵台指示灯的贴图真是TS水平，有失TSW水准。 这车驾驶手感让习惯了现代机车的我非常不适，最让人难受的就是牵引力和反应迟钝的空气制动机，真空制动机配合只有两节的C101反而因为机车上大功率真空泵，反应倒是比空气制动机快得不是一星半点。由于其A1A-A1A的轴列式和弱鸡的马力，这车拉货注定悲剧，提速慢，制动慢，缓解慢。起步稍微有点坡度就必须2.00级起车，然后就得把电流维持在绿区和红区附近，不一会到了几个枢纽就得退级制动。拉客车更是让人迷惑，明明C101有动力并且起步比这车快了不知道多少，却非得画蛇添足用这车来拉。到了Saltbun后还得去推到侧线换挂掉头再推回去，侧线的调车信号机还有bug，HUD提示黄灯但模型还是红灯。不过手柄过4.50级，柴油机转速上来之后音效真的不错。

It's a shame to give this a negative review, because the locomotive itself and the cement wagons are well done as usual, but the main problem is that it is currently restricted to Tees Valley (and one service on the modern East Coastway route). Tees Valley isn't a bad route as such, but it's another route that's short, especially the freight services which use only half of the available length. The Class 31 has the same problem in that it's freight services only go from Darlington to Tees yard, a bit over 10 miles. You can't use the Class 31 with the steel and coal wagons of the Class 37 either, you are restricted to the new cement wagons for freight. There is no loading/unloading the cement and only a little bit of rudimentary shunting. On the plus side, you can use the Class 31 to tow a bunch of Class 101 passenger services which go all the way to Saltburn, which I personally wasn't interested in, but your mileage may vary of course. However, if more period British Rail routes are released and they make the Class 31 playable on those, or on the marvelous Trans-Pennine route they released earlier, I'd give this another look. As it stands, it doesn't offer enough of gameplay to be considered essential purchase.

A favourite. It growls and pulls and makes cool noises. True old fashioned British diesel power. As it is currently, feel nice to drive and do learn how it used to work.

This DLC is awesome. The loco is nice in all its shabby old worn details, which makes it feel real. New is the animation when you climb the steps. Included in the pack is a PCA Cement wagon, also with a lot of details. Where Tees Valley Line in it self is interesting, this pack adds a lot: Runs and a bit of shunting with the cement vans. Runs where the class 31 pulls Class101 services. The class 101 's were about to replace, but still needed. The choice was not to repair them but to use the also worn out Class 31 to pull them. These days really were not the glory days of BR. As a bonus, you can use the class 31 also for all runs at the Sest Somerset Railway., where it add variety but no additional services. Unfortunately it will not run at the Northern Trans Pennine route. On the minus: I still have trouble with one scenario, got stuck at a signal. Other players report they could complete the scenario, so I will try again. On the other hand, the tutorial is above the vaerage low DTG standrd and is quite nice to play. Please be aware you need the TVL add-on to play!
