While I won't say it's a masterpiece, Tron 2.0 is a true gem of a game. In my opinion it functions as the better sequel when compared to the more recent Tron movies. Graphically the game held up extremely well. The art style of the Tron enviorments are beautifully clean, and I think it would not benifit at all from a graphical remaster. It does have a few problems. While the game is fair for the most part there are a handful of sequences that see a sharp dififulty spike. And most of the weapons in the game are either gimmicks or they're just not that effective. It has limited stealth mechanics but they're very basic, unforgiving, and the game rarely gives you chances to expoit them. On the highest difficulty level it also has an unusual bell of difficulty, it starts out quite unforgiving, gets easier in the middle, only to spike hard in the endgame with enemies that do not play by the rules you've spent the entire game getting used to. That said none of these problems actually damaged the experience for me. Fortunatly 90% of the game was designed so it can be done with the basic disk, with the remaining 10% needing the LOL sniper rifle. The Disk is a fairly unique weapon in the FPS world, and it's quite fun to use once you get used to its quirks.

Ein absoluter Shooter-Geheimtipp, der sich trotz kleiner technischer Hürden jede Mühe lohnt! Wer das Tron-Universum liebt und auf der Suche nach einem richtig guten Shooter ist, kommt an Tron 2.0 absolut nicht vorbei. Das Spiel macht von der ersten bis zur letzten Sekunde unglaublich viel Spaß, was vor allem an dem fantastischen und herrlich abwechslungsreichen Leveldesign liegt. Hier merkt man einfach mit jeder Faser, wie viel Herzblut in der Spielwelt steckt. Ein kleiner, aber wichtiger Hinweis vorab für moderne Windows-11-Nutzer: Nativ läuft das Spiel auf aktuellen Systemen leider nicht mehr. Dank Proton läuft es auf dem Steam Deck oder einer Linux-Partition auf dem PC dafür umso besser und absolut reibungslos! Wer diese kleine Hürde nimmt, wird mit einem echten Klassiker belohnt. Wichtiger Tipp zum Speichern (Savegame-Warnung): Nutzt die manuelle Speicherfunktion mit Bedacht und speichert am besten nur dann ab, wenn eure HP (Gesundheit) auch wirklich voll sind! Das Spiel setzt euch beim Tod gnadenlos genau auf den Stand zurück, den ihr abgespeichert habt – es gibt keinen automatischen HP-Reset. Wer das nicht weiß, manövriert sich sonst schnell in eine knifflige Sackgasse. Wenn man diesen Rhythmus aber erst mal verinnerlicht hat, steht dem puren Spielspaß nichts mehr im Weg. Klare Kaufempfehlung für alle Retro-Fans und Sci-Fi-Enthusiasten! 10/10
