An absolute masterpiece of the fighting game genre. Even years after its original release, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 remains one of the most chaotic, fast-paced, and incredibly fun fighting games ever made. The 3v3 tag-team system allows for unparalleled creative freedom, letting you mix and match your favorite Marvel and Capcom characters to build wild, screen-melting combos. The learning curve can be steep, but the sheer satisfaction of landing a perfect team hyper combo makes every bit of practice worth it. The cell-shaded, comic-book art style has aged beautifully, and the soundtrack is filled with absolute bangers. While the online matchmaking can require third-party community mods for the best connection experience today, the local multiplayer and overall gameplay loop are flawless. If you love high-energy fighting games, this is an absolute must-own. When's Marvel? Right now. Highly recommended.

Trash, garbage, unredeemable cruel joke covered in retro fighting games values with beloved characters that means a lot to whoever is even considering the purchase. Do yourself a favor, don't! 5 dollars wasted, worst spended money in my whole life, pack of cigarettes is so much superior and more benefiting way of wasting money. The idea itself of the game and core fundamental gameplay is superb, but the execution in every aspect is criminal. 1. Poor offline with nothing to do and idiotic damage scale and rules in arcade that ruins entire fun and genuine challenge cause its either too lame and easy or impossible because of stupid reasons (which is the only offline thing you can play. This is not challenging, nor enjoyable, nor satisfying, its just.... nothing at all, thats what it is). That's a lot to talk about but i skip details cause these aren't even worth digresing into it from the main review. Waste of time for such a low effort anti-content. Thought SF5 vanilla was an abomination anti-content?? Well.... at least it had survival.... 2. Poor heroes and heralds mode advertised as offline but in the end, its online actually... which is unplayable because of dead empty graveyard state of game (took me 4 hours until finally someone picked match request while i was playing and learning game, thats single match worldwide with skill level any, no filters, anyone -> 4 hours, fu-ck no, fu-ck off game). 3. Poor online execution -> you thought Street fighter 5 and King of fighters 13 steam edition had garbage rock bottom netcode? Well.... you didnt see umvc3. And most important, you dont want to see it, dont want to witness it. Summary: Unconditional despise, loath, spite, regret, disgust and rejection from the bottom of the heart. I got tricked and baited (so you dont have to) by nostalgia characters and retro values of old school fighting games from back then, when fighting games meant something, but nah, not umvc3. Amazing idea and core fundamental gameplay that much superior game picked from ashes and trained it further and evolved which brought us dragon ball fighterZ that was executed heavens times better with much greater quality level (until android 21 lab trash literally broke to half and nuked the game from orbit), but the idea and gameplay of umvc3 is trully awesome, its just cruelly and poorly executed -> and that what's heartbreaking here, when you see the picture what developers meant and what it was supposed to be on paper, and what is the actual outcome HOW DISAPPOINTING IT IS. To everyone considering the purchase even for that discounted pack of cigarettes -> DON'T! (unless its coach friendly sessions only which is the only way of squeezing any joy and positive vibes from this garbage) Verdict: TRAGEDY. THE ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME AND ONLY WASTE OF TIME. Dead forgotten and broken game. 0/10 ps/ would give at least 1/10 for classic nostalgic capcom vibes that used to bring so much joy and quality to the table whenever you saw the capcom logo opening the game, the sf4, re5, dmc vibes and all.... but.... I just wont for sheer fu-ckin' hubris. Clean bitter but rock solid fair 0/10 it is.

After all these years, still the #1 all-time favorite fighting game for me. I'd still recommend trying to play with other players near your skill level if possible. There's quite a lot to love about the presentation from the music, big roster, and comic book themed effects. X-factor is a psycho mechanic that lets you chip entire health bars or kill someone really easily in a single super or a couple buttons. It makes a lot of 'trash' teams salvageable, sometimes. Game is absolutely recommended if you think big flashy supers are your jam. Biggest weakness is still the netcode. Call me when online works.

Undoubtedly the MOST FUN game to lab. Even with the fact that the servers of the game are so far past dead to where getting a match is not online impossible but also if you do the connection will be so awful that pressing an input will take your entire lifespan to come out. Even though Parsec exists it still sucks that you have to go through that entire process just to play some form of online. Even so, this game's offline features still make it a time to remember, with labing being one of the most fun things with the kind of stuff you can pull off as well as the arcade features that can actually be quite difficult at times. Still one of the best fighting games ever made
