XCOM: Enemy Unknown will place you in control of a secret paramilitary organization called XCOM. As the XCOM commander, you will defend against a terrifying global alien invasion by managing resources, advancing technologies, and overseeing combat strategies and individual unit tactics.
The original XCOM is widely regarded as one of the best games ever made and has now been re-imagined by the strategy experts at Firaxis Games. XCOM: Enemy Unknown will expand on that legacy with an entirely new invasion story, enemies and technologies to fight aliens and defend Earth.
You will control the fate of the human race through researching alien technologies, creating and managing a fully operational base, planning combat missions and controlling soldier movement in battle. Key Features

It's X-Com Baby, Enjoy getting stabbed, gassed, shot, blown up, mind controlled then enjoy it again enjoy your sniper with a 90% chance to hit and a height advantage missing, leading to a total wipe out, enjoy running out of money and everyone hating you, that's xcom baby! mod it, kiss it, love it, its the best game in the world, then move onto Xcom 2 and feel the pain like a new born baby stuck in a loop, then go back to vanilla, just get it, then do it again, and again, crack is less addictive

100% recommended. XCOM is easily one of the hardest single player games I've ever played (impossible + iron man + entire second wave is borderline masochistic experience) - "getting xcom'd" is known for a reason. If you are up for a challenge, this is the game.

Softlocked twice on the FIRST mission due to bugs. Unit got stuck on the roof and couldn't move, reload the game now it's stuck in a tutorial asking me to kill an enemy that's already dead. Not a good first impression.

It was my first Roundbased Strat game. i Love XCOM since, also XCOM2. I liked playstyle, the Story, the Maps, the Squad, Enemies and their variety.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown So, this is a very new game to me. I bought it randomly 2 years ago and only now did I touch it. I was immediately hooked to this game, because it wasn't some mainstream, fast paced game to destroy my attention span but rather the complete opposite. Turned-based combat gameplay has always been something I've never been completely tried out. The only game that ever came to mind in this genre was "Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle" which I played many years ago on the Nintendo Switch. Yet I find myself to deeply enjoy this genre and I am very eager to keep exploring more genres because of this game. I honestly recommend this game to anyone who wants a new gaming experience that genuinely feels like a complete breath of fresh air from all the crazy slop stuff we see nowadays. Although be warned this game does get incredibly hard, incredibly fast. Go check it out, there's a demo!

Played it for the first time 14 whole years after this REMAKE came out and it is so good and so hard to put down. The base building elements were a challenging learning curve, and I had to use a guide to get over a hump where I kept failing in the same spot in the plot, but now I *get it.* I couldn't put it down even when I was bad at it, and now I'm getting good at it and it's even worse. 2026 it looks great on my ROG Ally and in 4k on the big tv. Controller control is excellent.

Classic tactical RPG that really hasn't been outclassed. It's a bit barebones, but it's also simply really good.
