I am not much for reviewing games, but I feel the need to do so here. I really hope the devs, Bohemia Interactive reads this. First I would like to thank you for all the hard work that has gone into this game. I have over 689 hours into this game and would like to talk about the changes made to the Exploration. In my opinion the Exploration which made this game amazing now stinks!. You know longer need a ship to hit the islands. The exploration has pretty much been removed. One of the things that made this game so amazing was grinding to make your ship and heading out to Explore and find the other islands. Now all the islands are really close to the spawn point, there are not that many and well they stink. There is no reason or need to make a ship because you can easily reach all the island with a raft. I don't really care for having to go into the caves to find all the different ore, but i don't mind as you had to go to the cave before for certain things. I actually love exploring the cave. I wish all the island types were still in game, it was nice having to go to all the different islands for the thing you either wanted or needed. The desert island was very important for those who really like to build towns and piers etc. I thank you for the crafting items you have added and the fixing of the map issue, but please give us the Exploration back. All the island types, the birds and a reason to make a ship. Exploration is what this is suppose to be and really it doesn't exist anymore. Thank you for you time and hard work.

People at Bohemia Interactive. I want to say something. when i bought this game, i bought it for the exploration survival aspect of the game. Later you release the game free with the explorer pack for those who bought the game. Yet until now, it seems that you are only working on the free to play / creation aspect of the game. Is this the appreciation you give to those who bought the game? prioritizing the free to play aspect over what we paid for? islands are SMALL, UNINTERESTING, LACKING OF WHAT YOU HAD SOMETIMES (like buildings all over them) npc are minimal, enemies are almost non existing (except for a few wolfs bears and 1 2 humans), combat 2.0 is worse than 1.0. Further more, once you used to have to rely on birds in the sky to find the next island (awesome exploration idea) now, i can see 2 islands directly from the shore of the island i am already on (0 exploration). Islands look like a lame small piece of land with some sticks of a trees pointing up (a forest doesnt look like a forest, but more like a small hand of trees). Please forget about the free to play aspect for a period and focus on what money was spent for in the first place. This is the reason gamers are starting to not support games anymore. games come out unfinished and lacking of content (and i might add that you are already on game version 1.+++) Honestly after 30 minutes of gameplay i get more bored then the moment i decided to play this game BECAUSE I WAS BORED) Get your head in the game. like right now...

How to sum up Ylands "Exploration Pack", A mediocre experience and a mountain of disappointment. It was fun for the first little while, but like a old bowl of cereal, the top flakes were crunchy and nice, the rest was a soggy soup of sadness and neglect. 2/10 Here's a more indepth review, Combat/Survival; The only Good? Combat, perhaps the only thing to improve a lot for the better. Combat was streamlined from alpha/beta, but still remains as basic as white bread with butter. It's ok, but it's nothing good. The weapons do feel better balanced and with the new Yland tier rating it provides and interesting progression but for sure feels like it doesn't quite work. But the bigger step back was the increase in cool downs on dodging that grinded my gears the most. As for Survival, Resources are messy and clutter everything, it's more fun to exploit than grind for. In many cases you'll have so much food you'd die from boredom before starving. Enemies are more of a annoyance than a fear and oceans nothing more than loading screens (I'll get back to this). Exploration Pack? more like the movie Castaway without Tom Hanks or Wilson. Building/Creating; - There is no good. What can I say, not a lot changed here. The game's building mechanics are still as clunky as ever with a build menu longer than a male horse's privates and just as unsightly to experience. The Icons in many cases are STILL backwards and useless to tell what is what without having to click 2 extra menu buttons. This was a problem from day flipping one, and makes building a nightmare and their "Fix" just adds more useless menus to go into wastes time. As well as an organization system that still leaves much to be desired as it in many cases is useless as well with the horrid names for many blocks makes finding things worst than digging into a phonebook that randomly changes location with each page turn. Exploration; - Hey I can see all the islands now. So how did this area improve? Well, you can now see the islands from greater distance. Good Job devs, you actually gain a pass here and placing ores into caves, forcing confrontation was actually interesting, another point to them.... BUT they also reduced the distance to the islands and how many spawn into the world. Oh yeah, this game is not infinitely generated but a tiny sandbox. As well, back in alpha there were tones of shipwrecks, crashed planes, and ruins within the ocean that provided a lot of fun in the blue expanse. But in release? Well they're rarer than the ark of the covenant and less exciting than finding a missing sock. The emptiness of the ocean became a real issue in beta, and I feel the devs took what could have been something new and interesting and threw it out recreating the oceans into just one long loading screen. And now, what do I think of Ylands as a whole? I've been cheering Ylands on since the earliest days, I wanted this game to get better and improve, but oh boy did the devs really showed what they wanted was only money. Also, turning the game into a free game full of "mini" games and making this broken piece of fossilized bullsh*t into a more expensive DLC really doesn't look good... "/s BUT HEY! You're graphics are so much better! /s" A bit of a rant to end off on about the In game Store, I don't usually mind these when they stay as just a cosmetic section. And for the most part, that's all it is. But to me, perhaps the most interesting part, the weapons and armour skins where removed from game leaving this just a glorified blueprint store. Also why were skins removed? I was told directly from the devs "They weren't selling enough". Think about that answer, instead of creating a cool way to say, keep those skins they rather remove them because they didn't get enough money. Ontop of that, the refund was nearly Fallout 76 500 atoms scam levels. SHOULD YOU GET YLANDS? NO, there's better options. IF you want a game like Ylands that is actually decent. Go get Atlas. Atlas has it's own issues, crashing, unpolished, and optimized like a potato. But still leagues better than Ylands, the oceans are fun to explore, interesting, the map huge, and ship building more in depth. It does everything better, all while still running like ♥♥♥♥ and having more CTD's than I care to admit, but I would still recommend it over this sorry game even if Atlas was abandoned tomorrow, in it's current state does everything better than Ylands.

Thanks for buying the game in early access and supporting the game, oh by the way ,we make the game free to play in the release to make you feel stupid and here are some coins that worth nothing that you can buy useless cosmetics and feel you even worst. THIS GAME IS A FRAUD AND I AM NOT GOING TO BUY AN EARLY ACCESS GAME AGAIN!

Ylands represents a classic example of how management can torpedo their own game. This game as a standalone survival experience had the potential years ago to be where Valheim is now. I've been playing Ylands religiously since 2017 and with each passing update, more and more content has been removed, rescinded or forgotten about. Very little quality improvements have been implemented, and now I feel in my mind that the game has reached the end to its sorry product lifecycle. Do not buy the Exploration DLC, there's next-to-no online players anymore with the exception of small pockets of die-hard fans who are very welcoming. I feel that Bohemia Interactive have over-sold and under-delivered this project, and not allowed the development team to get on with creating a solid blockbuster. They have preferred to listen to their Tencent shareholders and twisted this game into a quick mobile-cashgrab to appeal to the pan-asian markets. The offical Ylands forums has threads of screaming fans pilling up suggestions and polite warnings. All of which have been apologetically, blatantly ignored with the same annoying cheery disposition. Its so frustrating seeing such a potentially great game get driven off a cliff by such ignorant management at the helm. This game is done, and Bohemia Interactive need to take a look at themselves!

Hilarious developers. - Made the game where exploration was a big part of it. - Decided against the communities request and forget about that mode to focus on other money making schemes/modes. - Then returned to exploration because community kept requesting it. - Turned the game into a F2P cash model and took out exploration of the base game and sold it back to their customers AGAIN with promises they're working on it to improve it. Aviod these devs at all costs by learning from our mistakes. DO NOT SPEND ANY CASH ON THEM OR THIS GAME.

If you want to destroy a game ask these guys. They chopped the paid version base version between Mp and the single player game mode. All these" modes" linked by a cash grab market that was planned since the development start. if you wanna play private co opyou gotta rent a server or buy some premium currency. Overall the game is awful and the developers as greedy and scumbags as you can get. A scam falls short to describe the development of this game.
