The automatic camera movements can occasionally feel restrictive, and the inability to freely rotate or see far into the distance gets a bit annoying when you want to scope out the terrain. But overall, it is manageable, and you get used to it in 30 minutes. Time & Achievements? 6.8 hrs to 100%. The story could be done in 1.5 to 3 hrs depending on your pace. Out of 12, 10 are missable/extra achievements, and you can keep going after you complete the story. You'll need a guide or an interactive map for some extra achievements, as it is easy to get lost on what to get where. But remember, these extra achievements are a lot of fun; try them out. Final Verdict Even with the camera movement quirks, A Short Hike is easily one of the best cozy games ever made. It’s short, sweet, and fills you with a profound sense of warmth and accomplishment. This is my first time giving a review to a game on steam but damn it was so good, i've been so busy with works and school lately that i havent got a chance to play any game, so i picked this up because the playtime is short according to HowLongToBeat and im glad that i play this one out of the other game in my backlog! The game is super chill, super nice, and the characters dialogue was so funny that i had a genuine laugh, but the best part was actually the ending itself, i wont spoil anything but it gave me tears, a hard one. I didnt expect a cozy game like this would make me miss my mom so much, highly recommended

Great short game to get lost in for a few hours, took me 7 hours to get every achievement as well as doing some exploring. Really enjoyed it. And that's one more game from my backlog finished.

This game, among everything else amazing about it, has such fun flying mechanics, it really scratches the itch I have for games with free flight. The exploration feels so right, and there's so many fun little puzzles and challenges.

This was one of the most fun gaming experiences I've ever had. The controls are solid and easy to pick up, the story is adorable, the music is comforting. There aren't any enemies, there is no battle, just Claire going for a hike to the top of the mountain to get cell signal. Adorable and memorable. End of the game warmed my heart. As the title describes, it IS short. You can probably blow through it in 2 hours or so if you're rushing, but to do so would defeat the purpose of this game - it's a short hike. Enjoy it! 10/10 and wish I could wipe my memory and play it again for the first time.
