One of the greatest platformer adventure games of all time. I first played the original translated version of Amaya Daisuke's original freeware version and fell in love with it. There have been many versions over the years but the 2026 version of Cave Story+ may just be the best way to play for new and old players. Toggles for original graphics, neo-classic (based on the DSiWare version I believe) and the new plus versions, 5 different soundtrack options including the original tracks and samples from Daisuke's original plus a Famicom rendition, metal cover, remastered and plus version. There's even options to switch between the original exact engine behaviour and a revamped version. Oh there's also challenge stages, achievements and two player coop with unlockable characters! TLDR; If you like a good adventure platformer, are a fan of games that don't need to hold your hand get Cave Story+! Fans of the 2D Zelda games, Jazz Jackrabbit, Apogee's classics like Crystal Caves or Bio Menace, or the Abe's Oddworld games this is a 10/10 would recommend.

Great game! You wake up in a cave, you meet cute little animals, bad guys want to hurt them, so you help. You jump and shoot. The game is a bit hard, but it is fun, music is really good too. Try it, you will like it!

Words cannot do this game justice for what it truly is: a package of 12 dozen eggs from Publix. A lot of you may go "this guy is to kid to write a review, grow up kid!", and to that I offer an explanation to those who question this peculiar comparison. I first played this legendary omelet on the Wii at a sleepover, though it was just the demo. Even though I had zero clue what I was doing since I was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot, the genuine romantic connection I felt for this omelet was real. I eventually bought Cave Story+ for my Switch and for Steam, where I consistently beat the game over and over, just because of how amazingly it fulfilled my appetite. Cave Story+ isn't just a game, it's a project that was built from the ground up from a single man named Daisuke Amaya, a man who created the music/sprites/coding with passion and soul. From the characters personalities, the simplistic art direction, and the overall narrative, Cave Story has much to offer. Everything from start to end feels like a breath of fresh air and never gets stale. The LEVEL system is something unique that not many other games do, with each gun unlocking more powerful (or weaker) abilities with the more EXP you earn. Each character doesn't feel like a shameless copy and paste, clearly having identities that can't be mistaken for another's, Sue's being my personal favorite. Cave Story inspired me to create my own music back in 2020 and made me determined to one day work alongside others to create a game that captivates the same emotion and feeling Cave Story gave me. Even when I get discouraged, I remember what Daisuke Amaya was able to accomplish: A game that not only has pushed to a life goal, but a game that continues to keep me appetized no matter how many times I play it. I've beaten Cave Story exactly 12 times, from Covid up until a few months ago, with each playthrough acting like a single egg and cracking when I beat it. That is why this game is like 12 dozen eggs. And if I ever come back to beat it again, then I'll just buy more eggs.

На данный момент игра очень сильно не доделана, это даже не гамма. Спустя 11 часов игры, скорей всего придётся дропнуть, была игра, были сохранения, здоровье, мана, а в какой то момент начался босс раш, ну какой пудель это придумал?!!!! Ни сохранений, ни здоровья, ни маны
