it's ok but the dlc's seem like they're squeezing as much money out of the game as possible most should have been free if not all of them.

This is my first game I reviewed on steam, It disserves to be my first , because how good it is. I love this game the team behind it put a lot of work and time into this game. I have never seen such a good apocalypse game when I bought it, and even still today it holds up, as in my opinion the best survival/mostly apocalypse game ever made. The enemy design is soo cool, the fear it gives you when you play solo and with friends, the world design is amazing I will always wonder off to explore, you can just find a random places that you look over on the map and it will have good detail. The music is amazing the sound affects too, just go up to a tank as it falls the sound 10/10 This game has bugs and only a few annoying ones that you don't come across to much. but all the other bugs are just funny, it is funny to have a dead tick go Mach 10 or to have a tank you kill come back from the dead for a few seconds and just fall over again dead. and all the DLC's are good and fun. One of my favorite things are the experimental weapons, they are so unique (experimental Kvm 59 my beloved) and the skill tree. You can choose between 4 different skill trees/specializations depending on how you like to play or survive. At the end of each tree you will unlock a final perk or specializations, my favorite is the Tech Branch. "While you’ll still only be able to have one specialization skill active" you can use skills from other branches, just not the final one and yes you can unlock all the skills in the games and you can switch though your specialization skill. This game is amazing I wish Avalanche Studios gave more money to Systemic Reaction for the game near the end. I wish/hope for Systemic Reaction to make a second game, I will always come back to this game, it will remain one of or my favorite game ever. This game is unique and I will update this review if I have more to say later. 100/10

(Update 3 below) - After hours more in the game and despite some negative reviews, a rewrite. Generation Zero is an amazing game. You start in the wake of a robot take over, nobody knows where the robots come from. As you do missions and side missions, or just explore the map, an invasion unfolds. You don't know what is going on, but you learn to adapt. It's incredible fun to sit in one of the hundreds detailed handmade house while robots roam in the yard, including giant ones. They are clever, but not too clever. - The map is huge and beautiful. Having a companion with a rocket launcer is helpful. - The DLC's are nice, though they immediately give advanced weapons. It's best to stick with the more simple default weapons first, you don't need brute force to outsmart robots. - If you like FallOut4 you'll certainly like this game. Instead of a nuclear wasteland you're in rural Sweden in the late 1980s. Robots are invading and building fortresses and patrols, it's your job to contact survivers and find out what is going on. You can build fortified bases like in FO4 but that is not necessary. You can play this game in any way you like it. You can set difficulty to 'adventure' to put the focus on exploring rather than combat robot armies. Update 3. This game with DLC is a true gem, I got all really cheap on sale. What might be confusing, there is a base game plus extra missions and extra weapons. When you're new, the game does allow you to play missions ahead, and with DLC you'll have very strong weapons. Anyway, the map is huge. After 200+ hours I still discover new locations and new side missions. Having strong weapons from DLC at start is not really a big 'cheating' advantage since schematic trees and perk trees are pretty important. The real fun starts when you have shaped and maxed out your character with perks that feel important to you. The game world is constantly evolving. Yesterday I was invading a base, but suddenly I got attacked by dozens and dozens of robots, the base and the vicinity was like an ants nest. - The diversity of the landscape makes each encounter unique. You have plenty of tools and toys to make up a plan that suits best. And I really like the slow pace. Today as a single player it took hours to take a very powerful giant down (Gemini explained it's meant for team work in multiplayer). Any way, the map is huge compared to games like FO4, GTA5, RDR2. No minimap means you start to memorize locations and recognize places where you haven't been yet, rather than checking out blips. The weather effects are very impressive. You may be roaming a sunny autumn landscape, then see snow start to fall and accumulate. And as said before, the level of detail is amazing. No house is the same, there are traces of what happened as robots attacked everywhere, and there are really cool easter eggs and references to movies. Very enjoyable when you think about something you saw 5 minutes earlier and decide to return and check. - Anyway, is the complete series + DLCs worth ~80 Euros? I'd say yes if you like a huge detailed open world without being pushed around, even when this means you can play missions ahead and have strong weapons from start. I got all on sale for a minimum, I believe 5 euros for the main game and 20-30 euros for the DLCs and expansions, and 35 euroes is absolutely a great bargain. Where other games tend to flat out after playing the main story line this game keeps evolving, the world is dynamic. After a while you understand how different classes of robots react, but the environment is so diverse that there is always a margin of 'unknown'. For example, runners ('dogs') can completely ignore you when you are in camouflage later in the game, but when military runners are hunting you as a pack it takes just 1 small mistake to get fragged. GZ doesn't have bullet free vests or 150% health. Three or four hits and you're gone. No adrenaline shots left when you're in limbo and a timer for a medic is running out? Select your spawn point, you lost the battle. - The persistance of the game world is impressive. Kill a robot at location A, travel the map to B and do you're thing, travel back to A and your killed robot is still there. - Before this becomes an essay, it's incredibly fun to seek shelter in a church or a house and have a robot army outside trying to get you. Interior furniture gets smashed around, windows break, and your brave companion... Just play this game.

This game is version of fallout and helldivers mash up together, but in a sense of much cheaper than the other two. The main campaign is very nice, medium long, can be beaten within or less than 30hrs, after the story still got lot things to do like base/tower defense, raiding enemy bases, raid rivals(bosses). Theres also additional story from dlcs, if you wish to extend much more of the game. Thats optional, since you still can squeeze tons of hours into the game without those dlcs, just by grind the materials, weapon augmentation, and experimental tier weapon. The game also got some negative point, atleast to me; Abit buggy, but not game breaking, just until at somepoint you need to restart the game. Lacking npcs throughout the game, that doesnt count how lifeless the npcs is, but for this tier game, thats all doesnt matter I guess. Theres no minimap in the game, but theres compass system as alternative for it, which not really helping at some cases during doing mission in bunker, hell, some mission involving bunker is confusing asf, got lost few times in bunker due to not paying full attention, and missed some vital point. The conclusion, is the game worth to play-yes, absolutely. Just be patient with some unpolished part of it. You can get the game less than 5 bucks during discount, thats really hard bargain for most of us. The game deserves some love. Adios.

Yeah its fun, but its buggy and unrefined. Maybe there is a mod to fix the long list of wtf moments. Examples include: - I put new armor on my pet and it dies. - Missions don't progress even when you think you are doing them correctly. - Assault rifle attachments only fit on CERTAIN assault rifles (this goes for all weapons) - No explanation on how many of the game's systems work so be prepared to watch alot of videos and searching - Why does a tiny tick robot take 3+ .44 caliber shots to destroy? Have you ever fired a gun IRL? ect. ect. you will see when you play it. the interface is pretty confusing also. It just needs a pass through a QC cleanup and it would have been a 9/10 game, as is I would pick it up on deep discount only.

Take everything good about Far Cry 5 & 6, remove the bad, make it moderately scary. That's this game
