While I didn't think the first DLC was as good as the base game, I still thought this was good overall. I wish I could say the same about this one. I can appreciate some of the ideas and innovations they were going for, but ultimately, none of the cases really clicked with me, and so I can't really recommend it.

The sequel to the prequel to the main game, and it seems to be much heavier on smaller details. Espeicially in the second case, one should be mindful of the most seemingly insignificant objects and conversations in order to reconstruct the whole picture, although understanding only the general gist is sufficient to complete the expansion. It offers three more cases with three more achievements. The first case deals with the shipwrecked foreigners' integration into an island commune. Optional puzzles include identifying quite a number of new characters by name and function in the local governing body, as well as rearranging illustrated tiles to shed light upon the commune's simple origin story. The second case really scratches the detective itch, featuring a murder which implies supernatural forces at play. The case unfolds across three consecutive points in time, and presents several characters with a motive. The only point of criticism can also be appreciated as an advantage in such a game - compared to the other cases, the circumstantial evidence from which to infer some of the facts seems a little more ambiguous in this case. A couple familiar faces visit the commune in the third case, which serves to directly tie the events of the expansions to the main game. Every character lives through this one, and there isn't much of a compelling mystery of any other nature to unravel here. However, this deficit is made up for by a considerable amount of blanks to fill in to summarise the events.

This trio of additional scenarios was not quite as good as the other DLC, but it is still more Golden Idol, so I can't complain—great stuff. The last mystery seems super daunting, but ends up tying together a (once again) surprisingly deep narrative from relatively little.
