Important note up front: as of 2026, HITMAN 2 no longer exists as a standalone purchase. HITMAN 2 was delisted on all platforms in January 2023, coinciding with HITMAN 3's rebranding to Hitman: World of Assassination. Its levels, story, and content now live inside HITMAN: World of Assassination, the unified live-service package that also includes HITMAN (2016) and HITMAN 3. This review covers the HITMAN 2 experience as it exists today — as the middle chapter of that combined trilogy — since that's how virtually everyone plays it now. The Good Some of the best sandbox levels the series has ever produced. HITMAN 2's six core locations — Miami, Santa Fortuna, Mumbai, Whittleton Creek, Isle of Sgàil, and New Zealand — are widely considered a high point for IO Interactive's sandbox design. Miami's racetrack, Mumbai's dense slum-to-Bollywood-set verticality, and Whittleton Creek's suburban murder-mystery structure remain genre standouts even years later. The freeform "figure out your own assassination" design is as strong here as anywhere in the trilogy. Consolidation into World of Assassination is a genuine positive. Rather than fragmenting the trilogy across three separate purchases with inconsistent features, everything now runs on one modern engine build with shared progression, unified mastery systems, and cross-game contract sharing. If you own access to all three "seasons," moving between HITMAN 2's Miami and HITMAN 3's Dubai is completely seamless. Legacy Pack integration remains excellent. The remastered HITMAN (2016) locations, updated with HITMAN 2's mechanical improvements (better AI, picture-in-picture cutaways, mirror mechanics), still play great folded into the same package. Elusive Targets, Escalations, and live content. The rotating limited-time contracts and ongoing seasonal content give the game unusual longevity for a primarily single-player title — there's meaningfully more to do here in 2026 than there was at launch. Sniper Assassin co-op is a fun, if minor, novelty — playing Hokkaido/Sgàil-adjacent sniper scenarios with a friend adds a different pace to the otherwise stealth-heavy format. The Less Good Accessing it today can be confusing. Because the standalone HITMAN 2 listing is gone, newcomers have to buy into World of Assassination and then unlock or purchase "Access Passes" for HITMAN 2's specific content if they don't already own it from the legacy release — a genuinely unintuitive situation for new players trying to figure out what to buy. AI and stealth mechanics, while refined, are starting to show their age next to more recent stealth titles — guard behavior can be exploitable once you understand patterns. Story remains the weakest pillar. The Shadow Client/Providence conspiracy plot is serviceable connective tissue between missions rather than a real driver — nobody remembers HITMAN 2 for its narrative. Performance/technical hitches persist on the shared World of Assassination build for some users, a common complaint on the Steam forums even years post-launch. Does It Hold Up in 2026? The content absolutely holds up — arguably better than any other entry in the trilogy in terms of pure level design. What's changed is the packaging: you're no longer buying "HITMAN 2" the product, you're buying into an ecosystem and unlocking HITMAN 2's contribution to it. Once you're past that hurdle, the moment-to-moment experience — replayable sandbox murder puzzles with enormous systemic depth — is as good as it's ever been, and the price of entry (frequent deep discounts on World of Assassination and its access passes) makes this one of the best value stealth-sandbox packages available today. Verdict 9/10 — Some of IO Interactive's finest level design, now folded into the excellent, if slightly confusingly monetized, World of Assassination platform. Miami and Whittleton Creek alone are worth the price of admission.

Un objetivo, un escenario enorme y libertad para preparar el desastre como me dé la gana. Puedo actuar con paciencia y pasar desapercibido o improvisar cuando el plan se tuerce, que normalmente es cuando aparecen las situaciones más divertidas. Los mapas están llenos de posibilidades y repetir una misión sirve para descubrir rutas, disfraces y métodos nuevos. La organización del contenido puede ser bastante confusa, pero como juego de sigilo y experimentación sigue siendo de los mejores.

⭐ Un sandbox di assassinio fatto davvero bene 🎯🕴️ HITMAN 2 è uno dei migliori giochi stealth che abbia provato. La cosa più bella è la libertà con cui si possono affrontare le missioni: puoi pianificare tutto nei minimi dettagli oppure improvvisare completamente. Le mappe sono grandi, curate e piene di possibilità. Ogni obiettivo può essere eliminato in tantissimi modi diversi e questo rende le missioni molto rigiocabili. Anche il gameplay è davvero soddisfacente: travestimenti, esplorazione, oggetti e situazioni imprevedibili permettono di creare continuamente nuovi approcci. Graficamente è ancora molto piacevole e l'atmosfera delle varie ambientazioni è ottima. Voto: 9,5/10 🎯🔥 Entro pensando di eliminare il bersaglio in modo discreto. Cinque minuti dopo ho fatto esplodere mezza villa e sto scappando vestito da cuoco. 😂 Assolutamente consigliato agli amanti dello stealth e dei giochi che lasciano libertà al giocatore.
