Honestly, only came back to this title to check out the black mod for it. The issues and several changes made to the sigma version of Ninja Gaiden 2 has been gone over many times before (like the reduced enemy count/spongier mobs, the female missions, statue bosses, censorship, etc.). Plainly, I don't like Sigma 2 that much, but for the average playthrough its fine enough. Now the black mod (and by extension the NGII restoration mod compilation) fixes most of the issues and makes it closer to a NG2 remaster/PC port, and I highly recommended it, especially with the hassle of Xbox emulation for this game in particular. *Small update: Took a shot in the dark recently with Xenia Edge and didn't expect much since due to the ongoing bugs with Xenia Canary. But damn the Edge branch literally fixes all of the artifacts, audio issues, improves the input delay, and runs perfectly overall. Can't wait for the recomp to be finished for a more definitive way to play NG2 on PC.

Ninja Gaiden 2 первая часть которую я прошёл и я остался доволен, игра сама по себе не то что бы чем то отличается сильно от первой части, в целом все части ниндзи гайдена не имеет интересного сюжета однако геймплей это то чем хороша эта игра, это первая часть где помимо 2 кнопок наконец то можно делать интересные комбо, появились некоторые упрощение в виде хилла на сейвах, автоматическая прокачка хп и прочих мелочей, однако игра от этого легче не становится, тут все так же куча противников которые не дадут вам выйти из блока, большое разнообразие противников, демоны, ниндзи, роботы, летающие твари, пауки и тд, стоит ещё упомянуть сексуализацию женщин и прочего что здесь находится, для меня это не минус но детей от экрана стоит убрать ибо физика цiцок работает так ещё и на весь экран честно если сравнивать 1 и 2 часть то разницу не особо заметишь, 2 нг больше походит на первую но с многими упрощениями и не большими визуальными изменениями, надеюсь я найду силы чтоб закончить первую и 3 часть а так в целом рекомендую попробовать но учитывая подачу игра не всем зайдёт ибо даже на самом легком уровне вам будет трудно

I've been playing Ninja Gaiden 2 for years, and I still can't get enough of it. This is one of the best, if not the best Character Action Spectacle Fighter game out there. If you're looking for a game where the combat options are satisfyingly diverse while requiring skill and mastery to pull off, enemies that keep you on your toes and never let up on the punishing aggression, cannon fodder that are so badass that they would be bosses if they were in other games, and bosses so epic and brutal that you love to hate them and hate that you love them, Ninja Gaiden 2 is your game. For those not in the know, this is a spectacle Hack n Slash game. That means combos. That means you get to kick ass, and look cool while doing it. That means you start playing it and you never, ever want to stop. That means it's a game you can pour an infinite amount of time into and get an inexhaustible amount of fun in return, because the combat system is highly developed, with multiple moves for multiple weapons... I'm not part of the crowd that loves to diss on this or that version of Ninja Gaiden 2, Sigma 2 is rework of the original NG2, with a few tweaks here and there. The game is as fun and intoxicating to play as it's ever been and quite frankly, if you're going to get a game that keeps giving back to you so much you can play it for decades, then Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (or Sigma 2) is the addiction I would recommend. I downloaded the Ninja Gaiden 2 black mod, so this review will be about that version. This game is also really good, however, I do have some problems with it. Pros: -The gameplay is really good, and all the weapons are also good. I love the glory kill/finish-off thing they added, it makes the game really satisfying to play, to the point where I’d say the gameplay carries the whole game. -The voice acting is so much better in this game, and the characters are more memorable. That’s what I think, at least. -THIS GAME is way less frustrating with its save points and shops, it's really a godsend. Also it has auto checkpoints, so when you die to a boss you don't have to walk back to the boss arena, which a lot of times in the first game has some enemies on the way. It just spawns you into the boss arena with full health. THANK YOU SO MUCH. It's such an improved experience. If 1 had the same save points as 2, I would have probably beaten the game in 15 or 20 hours instead of the 30 that it took me. Cons: -I dislike the linear levels. I much preferred the interconnected levels of the first game. Tairon was such a fun place to move around, I really loved slowly unlocking more of the city, and it felt somewhat alive. When the church blows up in the first game, the military responds and cops are replaced with soldiers, it just makes your actions feel like they’re affecting the world. I just love Tairon and its Persian-influenced design. Which also means the map is removed and you have to use this "click this button and i show you where to go" what a downgrade. -I thought most boss fights were a downgrade from the first game. Their fights aren’t as good compared to the first game, but I would say about 25% of the bosses were fun to play against. Pet peeves: -I prefer the mysticism of the first story to the “Ryu saving the world” type thing in this game. The first story was just revenge, Ryu wanted revenge for what Doku did to his village, but he discovered more than revenge on his journey. It’s simple but bizarre, and I liked it, especially with the twin goddess fiends, Nicchae and Ishtaros. Like, let me fight them other than in that battle you have no chance of winning with Rachel, They are some of the coolest designs I’ve seen, and they’re just wasted. But I’m not saying 2 has a bad storym I love the Spider Clan and Genshin, and the ending was great and kind of disturbing at the same time (not going to spoil it). I just wish this game leaned a bit more into mysticism, but I forgive it because it’s mostly a story about the Spider Clan, kind of. -I dislike how the new fiends look. They look pretty generic, like the Chiropteran from Blood+ (a pretty underrated anime). -I wish we fought more fiends than the Spider-Clan, but I’ll let it pass because of the story. The Spider-Clan ninjas look cool and are fun to fight against, they are so much better than in the first game, the first game they were one of the top most annoying enemies to fight. -I dislike the removal of some fiends, like those cat-human-looking ones. I loved fighting those because they’re so weak but do so much damage, and move around fast. Screw the red dragons and the masked cyclops, I didn’t miss them at all. But again, their designs look really cool, so we could have had those rebalanced instead of the Chiropteran ones. -I want more levels with the other characters. I love Rachel, she was so much fun in the first game. I hate how there is only one chapter for them. Like in Sigma 1, you had 3 or 4 chapters to play as Rachel. Were they good? Not really, especially that Gamov boss fight was pretty bad. Or do what DMC4 did and let me play as the characters for the whole game. Again, a must-play. This game is really good. If the first one was like a 9, this game would be an 8.5 or an 8.

Download Sigma 2 Black on Nexusmods. I played v18. What does it do? +Restores blood and gore. +Essence (30,000) are used to upgrade your weapons. +Izuna Drop is already unlocked. On my observations for Warrior difficulty: +More spawn points for enemies. +Ryu clones are spread out throughout the story. They appeared in Chapter 16. +Enma's Fang is removed. A weapon added to Sigma 2. Incendiary shuriken is added and has a unlimited ammo. In order to get Enma's Fang, you must remove the mod, reload a save in Chapter 4, grab it, save, and add back the mod. +Howling Cannon is also removed. It's supposed to appear in Chapter 6 in a cellar. +Statue of Liberty fight is skipped on Warrior. On my observations on my second playthrough, Normal: +Spawn points for enemies aren't increased. +Enma's Fang can be picked up. After completing Chapter 4, the Incendiary shuriken and Windmill shuriken were added. +Howling Cannon can be picked up. +Had to fight the Statue of Liberty. +No Ryu clones in Chapter 16. Everything is vanilla. The mod itself has bugs, so my findings above can be different for you. Also, Smart App Control on Windows 11 decided to block two .dll files for no reason even though I had no problems before. I had to do an update on Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus and the mod worked again. Thanks Microslop. My Warrior (Hard) review: * Tutorial: You actually get a tutorial as opposed to the first game. * Gameplay: Pure action. Ninja Gaiden Sigma would be adventure action. You backtrack at times. Sigma 2 is linear. Each chapter has a different stage and setting. You have abundance of enemies. Ultimate techniques are important as you'll get overwhelmed by projectiles, attacks, and grabs. * Izuna Drop. v18 punishes you for using it since it's not safe anymore. All the enemies won't stand around anymore and will attack you as soon as you land. Still, I use it out of habit. * Three ladies. 1 lady for each story. You can say they're intermissions. Some people don't like their chapters. * Momiji - Feels a bit heavy to play. She has a naginata. She can "Izuna Drop." * Rachel - She has a freaking machine gun. Pew pew pew pew pew. * Ayane - Feels light to play. She can "Izuna Drop." * Sonia. Not playable. She kicks ninja butt. Nice to look at. * Upgrading: In the original Sigma 2, you can only upgrade your weapons from the blue Muramasa statues. In the mod, you can use 30,000 essence to upgrade at any statue. You also get some hilarious dialogue if you don't have enough currency. * Ryu clones: Two of them appeared at the same time in Chapter 16. If they Izuna Drop you, you are dead. They can be a nightmare to fight and may be rage inducing. * Bosses. Better than Sigma. Watch out for grabs. Lunar Staff works well against most bosses. * Lunar Staff: An excellent weapon. Fantastic AOE. Slaps bosses. * Enemies: The enemies are super aggressive. I don't know if it's difficulty or the mod, but you need to move. Blocking does only so much because you can get grabbed or your guard breaks. Enemy ninjas are constantly throwing shurikens at you and it get worse when the incendiary shurikens comes in. Score: 8.5 out of 10. I do recommend the game if you mod it. Otherwise, Sigma 2 OG is just bad. Mod it for the blood. Mod it for the difficulty. Normal can be snoozefest, but if you just want to play through the levels, then go ahead. If you want to get your butt kicked, play Warrior or Mentor.

Overall much better than the first one, improved where it mattered, but still has some issues, specially the ending relying way too much on tanky enemies that can't be staggered, also, for a monster being hyped as the end of the world, the final boss is a joke
