Return to Monkey Island is an unexpected, thrilling return of series creator Ron Gilbert that continues the story of the legendary adventure games The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.
It’s been many years since Guybrush Threepwood was last locked in a battle of wits with his nemesis, the zombie pirate LeChuck. His true love, Elaine Marley, has turned her focus away from governing and Guybrush himself is adrift and unfulfilled, having never found the Secret of Monkey Island. Hip, young pirate leaders led by Captain Madison have shuffled the old guard from power, Melee Island has taken a turn for the worse, and famed businessman Stan has been imprisoned for ‘marketing-related crimes’.
Banter with old friends and new faces on familiar islands now under dangerous new leadership. I don't understand the ending, even though I played the game three times: twice in English (on Normal and Difficult modes) and once in French. I'm quite disappointed by the ending. I've played Monkey Island (my favorite) and MI 2 (didn't like it), but but I didn't really click with this one MI 3 Return to Monkey Island. The game is pretty good, but from the 3rd chapter, it becomes increasingly difficult, with illogical puzzles and tedious backtracking. The hint system is good and actually essential; otherwise, I would have stopped playing as early as the 4th chapter. As for the graphics, I would have preferred pixel art, but it still looks nice. The only ugly part is Guybrush's alcoholic face. That said, it's not really a "point-and-click" anymore, but rather a "spot-and-click"; it loses some of its charm, though it plays quite nicely with a gamepad or on the Steam Deck. Works perfectly on Steam Deck.

Game is OK but bit disappointing. Not as funny as the previous games. I guess if you like of the old series you might experience some reminiscence. But overall I would mark it as 6.5/10.

Me and my best friend played the MSDOS original when we were 6 and had a blast. My best mate, from the early 90's had MS and is no longer with us. Nevertheless, the nostalgia in this title really meant something to me.

This game was supposed to be the sequel to Monkey Island 2, but it turned out to be a mockery of Monkey Island fans. Don't waste your money on this.

I loved the atmosphere which brought back a lot of fun memories about Monkey Island 2 and 3. Just don't take this game to seriously and don't expect it to be the exact copy of your favorite old game.

Komplett Deutsch vertont mit den original Sprechern. Sehr gut gemachte Ingame Hilfe. Wenn man das Spiel par Tage liegen lässt wird man gefragt ob man ne Zusammenfassung der Story haben möchte.
