Risk of Rain
Risk of Rain is an action platformer with roguelike elements . With permanent death as a primary feature, players will have to play their best to get as far as possible. Fight on a mysterious planet with randomly spawning enemies and bosses , either alone or with 3 friends in online co-op .
With over 100 items at your disposal, you will find the tools you need to find the teleporter back home. Discover a myriad of randomly chosen stages , from the desolate forest to the frozen tundra.
The three main goals for our game are simple:
1. Design a game that is randomly generated every play-through, to keep replayability high and fresh.
2. Time = difficulty. The higher the in-game time gets, the harder the difficulty gets. Keeping a sense of urgency keeps the game exciting!
3. Be enjoyable, regardless of whether you win or lose. No more fussing with complex and non-intuitive gameplay patterns. Players should not blame the game for their loss!

Интересная игра в жанре рогалик-платформер. Главная фишка тут динамическая сложность, которая растет каждую минуту реального времени. Сюжет простой космический корабль перевозит ценный груз от высокотехнологичного оружия до загадочных инопланетных артефактов. Происходит событие корабль разваливается и терпит крушение на враждебной планете. Герою, в роли одного из выживших членов экипажа, необходимо пробиться через орды монстров, найти телепорты, вернуться на остатки корабля и сбежать. Хорошая графика и музыкальное сопровождение. Much as I love this game and think it's excellent, with the release of Risk of Rain Returns I think it's probably better to pick that one up since it fixes a lot of the annoyances that plagued the original release. This version is cheaper and tends to go on sale more often than Returns though, so if money is tight I'd say this is still quite playable and worth your time.

If I had played this game before playing RoR2 for hundreds of hours, I think I would have a far greater appreciation for this game than I do. Unfortunately, having played so much of the sequel, it's hard to look at this game without comparing it to that. The music and graphics are great, but I don't think the gameplay works as well as it does in the sequel. This is largely because the gameplay is basically the same for every survivor: run away from a group, activate one or more abilities, run away again until the abilities are off cooldown, activate abilities again, and repeat ad nauseam. In a 2D game, this can get pretty old pretty fast. It also makes melee survivors (and sniper) feel significantly worse to play. The game is also fairly difficult if you're used to the sequel, but with enough runs you'll end up getting used to it. It's a fun game and I can see why so many people like it, I just don't think it's as good as the sequel.

**10/10.** Went in expecting rain: got bullets, awesome monsters, and a gambling addiction instead. Lore is incredible & at first i had absolutely no idea wtf was happening, but apparently, it’s my fault.
