Rome: Total War — настоящая классика, которая даже спустя много лет остаётся довольно бодрой стратегией. Наверное это единственная игра, которую приобрёл в своё время без чьего-либо совета, обзора и т.д. Просто выклянчил у мамки приглянувшийся диск на прилавке. По началу думал, что сильно ошибся с покупкой. Пошаговый жанр поставил меня п*здюка в тупик. Но увидел режим сражений и решил повременить с обменом. Позже на примере героев раздуплился и засел в игру с головой, попутно подсадив на неё кучу друзей. Сколько же часов было проведено на карте кампании после школы, а иногда и вместо неё.))0 И даже спустя столько лет приятно хотя бы раз в год окунуться в воспоминания и в очередной раз завоевать карту на максимальной сложности, нагнув компик со всеми его читам. Боги...я ненавижу галлов! Мой дед тоже их ненавидел, даже до того как они выкололи ему глаза.

not bad but honestly just get medieval 2, i'm sure there's a roman mod out there. it's this game but better in every way, the character stuff and combat got refined in that entry.

Been playing since childhood. After so many years I keep founding new small details that keep the game fresh to this day. It makes you think how much effort and care been put into the development. OSTs are immortal classic, still on repeat to this day. Also with the recent community patch called REX the game runs so smooth and fast, its no longer a question whether to buy RTW:Remastered/Rome 2 or not :)

Absolute banger of a game. People will say beginners should play shogun 2 or medieval 2 first because they are objectively better and easier to learn, but you'll be doing yourself a disservice because there's so much fun to be had for what it is on its own, it's beauty in simplicity. Now that the REX patch is out an the game actually works, there's no excuse to sleep on this (don't think about remastered, they didn't fix a damn thing). Love the music, love the world map and the visuals. Enjoy 60+ Fps Massive battles with 3000 dudes screaming and grunting amongs the chaos of the battlefield, surrounded by burning pigs, war dogs and screeching women, while volleys of arrows and pilums (and heads) delivers death from above. Just experience it all, and then you can go buy Medieval 2. note : don't put battle difficulty below hard, the ai is a total pushover even in superiority. I've lost some battles with less enemies in hard because i didn't plan accordingly to counter their cavalry.
