I love Star Trek, I love John DeLancie as Q, but it hurts to see this DLC wasn't very good or interesting. The problem is that what was advertised as the Equinox DLC, all you get is a roguelite mode where you travel through randomized sectors. The story, the actual story of the game, is stripped out. Which in the base game was one of the stronger points. Yes, they were rehearsing Voyager's episodes, but the care in writing and execution of branching stories and technology/characters changing how events play out showed the passion within this game-- which this game mode removes entirely. Equinox is a reskin of Voyager, it looks different, but it plays all the same. I was hoping that this would be the team's time to shine to write some genuine arc of how the Equinox ended up in the situation Voyager found it in (before the alien abductions, naturally).

Not a fan of the changes to the game made with this update. The Equinox DLC is just a Q Trial and the sector progression seems randomized. I played a little of it, got bored and uninstalled it again. The base game was fun, but i'm ready to move on.

I have played the base game to death, and I was really looking forward to this DLC, but I feel a little disappointed with it. Which it pains me to say. You can either play as Voyager or the Equinox in Q's trials. With the Equinox being harder as it's a smaller ship. You can mix the Equinox and Voyager heroes which is a nice twist. Neelix could be the captain (I'd be in an escape pod hoping for assimilation). You get random events/tasks in each sector like help these people, pay these people off to leave you alone for awhile, collect this amount of resources, with Q chiming in every so often. The tasks do feel reused, as a couple of the sectors felt pretty much the same, and leaving the sector was the same way. Basically complete the trails and get home. It does give you a feeling that Q is playing you. Like the Kazon are 20,000 light years away from where they should be. Having them multiple times feels lazy. There are so many species Voyager introduced that could be used, and played upon. I'm yet to complete the Q trails but maybe more will come later, and maybe different as the Equinox. I have played as the Equinox, and I died in the second sector. Yep! I'm no Ransom. What I did notice was there are some bugs. It's even in the promo clips/screenshot. You're playing as the Equinox so why as it telling me "Voyager shields down", and why are the ship's silhouette Voyagers when you're in battle? How has these get through the testing phase? If you have the pass give it ago and see what you think. I personally would wait if you want to buy this on it's own. Give the devs a chance to listen to the feedback and make some improvements.

This would be good if we could play the game with the Equinox like an alternative universe. All you can do is struggle like the Year of Hell in a smaller busted ship with no resources. Not worth the $9.99. The Equinox has the worst layout option as well making it "challenging" to say the least but I can get over that in the campaign but not in the Q trials.

Macht mir keinen Spaß. Es ist echt sackschwer. Die Einstellungen wirken sehr eingeschränkt, man kann einfach das nicht so einstellen das es ausgewogen wäre, so deprimiert es mich einfach nur dauernd auf die Fresse zu kriegen. Hätte mir auch gewünscht das man mehr "böse" - Equinox Entscheidungen treffen kann. Viele Einstellungen sind auch ausgegraut und müssen erst freigespielt werden - SCHADE. Großartiges Spiel, aber das hier enttäuscht mich.

I am so impressed. Again, you knocked it out of the park. I dare say $10 is a bit under priced. But, frankly what got to the end for me was the same ness of the story, the optimization of a sector was a bit too meta. Now the extra layer, the challenge of a smaller ship, the possibilities of a larger ship. I can only dream of a Defiant, or Enterprise in this situation. Truly the potential and current execution are great!

Really good DLC with a nice sandbox type mode, bringing the Equinox (or Voyager) back from Delta quadrant with an ever increasing difficulty level due to random changes. Some of the Q trials actually are really good and useful. Others...definitely not useful! Solid DLC and worth the money; adding in alot of replayability.
