While this one might not be as deep as the main story is, it is still a very cool and delightful experience. People are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the price in relation to the dlc's length but I think that it is a fair price for genuinely high quality. I can recommend!

In contrast to the glazing I just gave the main game, I wouldn't recommend the DLC (with a few exceptions). It's short, maybe about an hour and a half. It's an interesting enough continuation to the main story, and it benefits from not being too ambitious in its very short run time. Fantastic voice acting and writing, like the main game, but almost boring by comparison. The actual moment to moment gameplay is just a lot of swimming around for the first two thirds of it and an underwater (and therefore more limited) variant of the main game's sneaking and running. It's very cool seeing the Beira D as a sunken wreck, and again, the story is a very original concept, but something is just missing. I'd say that something was the level of tension and atmosphere of the main game. It's very much taken out, mostly due to the setting, which is fine. The main issue is that Siren's Rest makes no real effort to replace it, leaving a gaping hole in the trinity of design that made the main game so well. To be fair to Siren's Rest, it doesn't really have the same runtime to create this environment. It probably should have been double the length it was. Despite these missing parts, the skeleton of what was left was still very enjoyable from a story standpoint. I found the ending in particularly to be a very fitting send off the game as a whole, and I was happy with where it left the story. I've put that I don't recommend this solely based off of what you pay versus what you get. I got this on sale and still feel like I slightly overpaid. I'd only play the DLC if you were very invested in the characters of the first game and if it's on sale, otherwise, better to save the money and look up a playthrough.

Ok so sobbed even more, fun. If you are a fan of the original game definitely play this!! But I can totally see why people didn't like this. The horror is way more in the environment in this rather than the monsters. It also had a few bugs, and I had to reset from checkpoints a few times because I would get stuck and couldn't move. I really enjoyed the gameplay in this, just exploring something familiar yet so different now was really intriguing for me. I loved just looking around for clues and such. I didn't need feel the need to figure out exactly what happened on the rig, because that's what cosmic horror is: Its beyond our comprehension.

Siren’s Rest is a DLC for Still Wakes the Deep, which takes place 10 years after the end of the main game. You play as Mhairi, a saturation diver looking for mementos in the Beira D's wreck, deep underneath the North Sea. Compared to the main game, the gameplay is a pretty interesting change. Obviously, most of the time you would be swimming, with unlimited oxygen outside some sections. Swimming feels smoother than in the base game, and in some areas you can freely explore, getting a bit more lore and some mementos in the process. If you enjoyed the base game, Siren's Rest is a pretty great DLC, with around half its length. You might see areas you're familiar with, and overall it's interesting to re-explore Beira D in a new perspective. It might not be as atmospheric as the base game, but there are some interesting and tense moments. Though, I kinda wish the monster makes a bit more presence.

Not sure why people wilding out here in the reviews. It's just a small part 2 of the original game. Enjoyed it, decent piece.

I loved the main game but sadly this DLC didn't live up to the main game. Buggy at times, and just doesn't feel like it had the love the original game was made with.

DLC就是多年后从另一个视角复盘一次本体的故事，基本是潜水关卡，风格更压抑一些，2小时不到的流程长度，玩之前先确认下自己无深海恐惧~另外，显著改善了本体那个水下推进的动作，好评，只需要按右键就能实现动作

Can't believe the negative reviews. Yes, it's definitely not longer than the main game. But it's really good. I liked even more than the base game. Got a bigger sense of dread while exploring the wreckage and the ending with the choice you have to make, I think it's really good. This costs half the main game's price tag but it's definitely well worth the price.
