My girlfriend suggested we play Half-Life 2 together in co-op, and since this mod was available, we both installed it. But then we hit a wall trying to figure out how to actually launch the multiplayer so we could get onto the same map. Most of the tutorials on Steam Community were all about port forwarding, LAN, Hamachi, and stuff like that. We were ready to give up after ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with it forever, but then we finally checked a YouTube tutorial and realized we didn't need Hamachi, port forwarding, or any of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at all. All it takes is Steam Networking, which is super simple and just requires a few console commands from both players. So in the end, we actually got to play together. I was just really happy my girlfriend was down to play an FPS with me for once, and we had an absolute blast with Half-Life 2, even though shooters aren't really her thing.

im gonna be honest the idea of being in a multiplayer server in a half life game is accutally pretty cool

♥♥♥♥'s peak through and through, both the original game and this online mod. Played it a few times with 1 or more friends at the same time and, everytime we booted this up, it was bang after bang after bang of funnies from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around and finding out and literally the game itself being fun on it's own. only thing is I can't do the reverse bhop tech and I'm perpetually sad because of it

Synergy is a breath of fresh air involving Half-Life 2, while not perfectly polished, it's an incredible refreshing experience with either one, two or more friends together, makes the game feel a lot differently, and the game handles single player areas, like the airboat or car, really well.

This mod is fun but so stupid i took me like almost 1 hour to get into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ server and when i finaly got in we played and the game was like really buffed for no aboslute reason and never said it was buffed then i got to the ramp part before the vortigaunt gun for the air boat and my boat became a ghost and i couldn't get in it so i just quit like wtf not recomended just get Gmod and play that way.

... so you have to use a vpn... *yawn* andnnd the point of the game is for half life 2 to be multiplayer//.. then you have to connect via the console. a glitch that doesn't in base game hnalf life 2 make it make sense

Expected Sven 2, got instead the most limited HL2 Co-op mod ever, get GMOD instead.
