The characters, art style, music, and overall settings are all delightful and add a ton to the feeling of the game, not to mention the voice acting, which is absolutely superb. However, as a mystery game, this game fumbles the bag quite hard. The actual way to progress in this game blind is to effectively present every piece of evidence to every individual. This shotgun approach is the antithesis of the surgical, methodical gameplay of most detective games, which makes it feel like the individual isn't figuring anything out for themselves, but is just being railroaded by the writers. But by far and away the worst part of the game is the ending. The plot accelerates into terminal velocity as all the intrigue and plot twists come out in the last 10% of the game in a massive exposition dump, but somehow, many of the most important/interesting plot threads are left unaddressed. Maybe the next game addresses and builds off these plot threads to create an even more satisfying conclusion, but as the game stands now, the ending ruined the payoff of the game for me.

Отличная игра. Прекрасные персонажи, живые диалоги, шикарный арт и звук. Одна из тех немногих игр, где я провалился в просмотр арт-альбома с комментариями разработчиков. Одно предостережение - это не квест в классическом понимании. Это в некотором роде VN. Стандартный процесс такой - мы заходим на локацию, немного пиксельхантим на ней объекты. Потом если тут есть персонаж - говорим с ним на 3 темы, спрашиваем о каждом предмете-улике. После чего идём в новую локацию (или еще раз проходимся по старым персонажам, чтобы показать им новые предметы). После нахождения определённых улик у каждого персонажа открывается возможность поговорить на четвёртую тему, самую важную. Самым вариативным тут является подбор главной фразы - когда мы из улик и заготовленных кусочков предложения должны составить правильную фразу типа (окно) + (было открыто) +(невестой) + (ради свежего воздуха) И это в принципе основной геймплей. Кроме этого в игре есть несколько головоломок, и они в принципе неплохие, но их маловато. То есть никаких инвентарных головоломок (кроме разговоров на их тему), никаких диалоговых головоломок (у всех персонажей 3+1 темы плюс перебор комментариев о всех уликах). Все экраны очень удобно открываются на большой карте. В общем всего того, за что любят (и ненавидят) классические квесты. На 90% игра состоит из болтовни 3-х персонажей. Но диалоги классные. История хорошая. Прошёл с большим удовольствием.

Great art, music, animations, and voice acting. I just wish the investigation was a bit more tricky to solve, right now it is very straightforward. Disappointed by the ending, I felt like the culprit's motive did not make sense. Other than that, very nice little game.

Great improvement from the previous game. The ending is not the most satisfying but it sets up for something bigger, like the loose ties in Detective Grimoire.

Прикольная и простая игрушка на один вечер/два вечера, не справился с одной головоломкой, потому что мой iq меньше трёхзначного.

Bof. The game caught my eye with the graphics. The colors, castle, and characters are all unique, the plot is also quite interesting. However, the gameplay is not it at all. Despite being a Detective game, I never felt like I was actually solving anything or even doing any real thinking. Most of the game is about asking every character about every piece of evidence until you eventually get the info you need. There is very little deduction involved. There are also very few puzzles, that are quite easy and, imo, often don't make much sense.

These are the ones that make it all worth it. Detective Grimoire was good for what it was, but Tangle Tower is the best-case scenario where the devs managed to improve on every single aspect while also sharpening its strengths, specifically the cast. The game is a delight to play through thanks in large part to the fantastic script and voice-acting that makes every character feel fully realized from the get-go. A lot of the puzzles were very inventive and a lot of fun to figure out while the detective logic bits remained relatively unchanged. I was concerned about a lot of the negative reviews saying the game had an awful ending, so I was prepared for the worst, but it's... fine? The leadup to the reveal was fantastic and had me on the edge of my seat, and while the culprit's motive wasn't the most compelling, anyone thinking it invalidates the rest of the story is crazy. Super excited to move onto the next game.

Візуально й аудіально приємна, дуже талановита гра. Після розслідування у вас буде шанс роздивитися скетчі, які стоять за дизайнами усіх персонажів, локацій та доказів -- не пошкодуйте часу. Окремо хочу похвалити акторів озвучки -- вони зробили персонажів справді унікальними і надали їм особливого шарму. Детективна історія нескладна, але приємна. Нагадує Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Відчувається, що навіть у тих персонажів, які просто згадані у грі, є великий лор. Хотілося б більше сюжетів у цьому всесвіті. Гра проходиться швидко, за раз. П'ять годин задоволення.
