The Artful Escape really is a psychedelic adveture - a sci-fi rock opera unlike anything else I have played before. It is not really a rhythm game nor a platforming game but it does have elements of those in order to tell its story. It's more of a narrative experience or an interactive short story but that is all it needs to be really! I enjoyed it from beginning to end and it was an awesome, immersive experience. The variety of the levels you visit, the art itself, and the music is all exceptionally made and they make the journey quite memorable. While the game's art is exceptionally creative, its gameplay a bit serviceable, one gripe I did have is that the story's pacing could have been better and the story's climax was lacking that catharsis of emotions that it was leading up to. Sure, a moral lesson was learned by the characters but I felt that the other themes of the story needed more closure. Nevertheless, the Artful Escape is a unique, immersive and memorable experience - an epic space opera that is unlike anything else I played. It easily earns my recommendation even at full price.

Esse jogo não economiza em ser bonito, colocaram todas as fases pra ser um espetáculo sonoro e visual, a gameplay é bem simples e as sessões de ritmo não desafiam porque ele foi feito pra ser apreciado.

Bought this game on sale for five dollars. Oh boy does it WORTH the money. Like, I get it that some people find this game 'lack of mechanics' 'no challenges', but ffs, not every game has to be challenging and requiring your attention or brain power or reflex all the time Some people, like us, we just wanna have some fun time where we can fully relax and enjoy art and be someone in a fantasy world for a few hours without worrying about getting killed or made wrong choices or whatever In real life if it's no pain no gain for most people then why aren't we allowed to just have no pain 100% gain in virtual world? I absolutely adore this game for that. The art style is breathtaking, the story (albeit rather cliche) is heartwarming, the voice acting is top-notch, the dialogue writing is fittingly theatrical, what more can I ask?

Jogo belíssimo e muito psicodélico! No entanto tem uma natureza predominantemente contemplativa e não muito desafiadora com respeito a gameplay. Você passa a maior parte do tempo em jornadas por mundos desconhecidos tocando a sua guitarra e lendo diálogos. Os momentos um pouco mais desafiadores são referentes a memorizar e tocar a pauta musical de acordo com os símbolos luminosos, no entanto, não precisa ter medo, pois a história prossegue independente dos seus erros. Recomendo bastante, é um ótimo jogo para relaxar e contemplar. Diálogo que me marcou: "O trabalho de um artista não é dar às pessoas o que elas querem. É dar às pessoas algo que elas jamais poderiam ter imaginado."

this game is so absurd and at times, absolutely ridiculous but yet so funny! the gameplay mechanics definitely need some editing, as they're very repetitive and at times you're just standing still waiting or just moving left and right jumping around. but it's really fun, and i like the message its portraying. 6/10

This Game is an artistic masterpeice. The plot is completely unpredictable from start to finish and the art is absolutely gorgeous. My only negative is the gameplay is very simple, feels more like an interactive movie with the occasional simon says match. That being said, its an experience Id play again despite its simplicity in gamplay because it makes up for it in its complexity in plot and artistry. A warning for the visuals though, without spoilers. I'd recommend playing sober unless you can handle a LOT of colour and absract designs.

Jeu excellent, tout simplement ! Sa direction artistique est juste magnifique, des décors aux chara design (seul petit bémol pour moi sur ce point : les animations sur la fin du jeu son trop répétitives), mais ça reste du très haut vol. La bande-son, qui est un peu le centre du jeu finalement, est de très bonne facture, et pareil pour le sound design. J'ai beaucoup apprécié l'histoire que j'ai trouvé crédible avec des personnages attachants et un twist relativement inattendu, ainsi qu'une "morale" intéressante. Le gameplay est peut-être un peu trop limité, avec principalement des phases de plateformes simplistes et des "combats de boss" à la guitare, mais ce n'est pas vraiment le cœur du jeu et de son expérience donc je ne suis pas déçu de ce côté là. Je pense que c'est une petite équipe qui a beaucoup de mérite de créer un titre aussi qualitatif sur quasiment tous les points avec surement un budget pas très grand. Bref, je recommande complètement.

What a surprise, I really enjoyed this game! In my humble opinion, this game is FAR better than Mixtape. I love the art style, the music integration, the story, and the characters. The only issue I experienced were a few technical ones. On my RTX 5070ti, I was experience slight Frame Rate hiccups. I thought that this might just be my 5070ti, but when I played them game on my Desktop RTX 5090 PC, I experienced the same thing. Additionally, there were a few times where the dialogue of characters failed to appear. Characters lips would be moving, subtitles will show, but no sound coming out of their mouths. These technical issues were not frequent and never took away from the gameplay experience. If you're looking for a short, narrative, musically driven game then check this out. And, by no means, think this is anything like Mixtape.
