Excellent racing game, some of the soundtrack/music I liked but none of it's bad the gameplay, maps/countries, tracks, steam remote play together/split screen, graphics are incredible it's like you're driving it in real life. There are so many classes and cars to choose from. I also have this game on PS4 since 2023 it's so good I had to get it on steam too. 10/10

I bought it in the summer sale, I think that should just be the original price. Game doesn't feel complete.

Reviews for Dirt 5 seem unimpressed, and I can see that. It probably won't be anyone's favorite racing game, but I had fun with it for the time I played it. I just about 100%'d it, got gold medals in almost every event, bought all the cars, and just finished getting all the achievements, so my playtime approximately represents a completionist playthrough. Upon starting up Dirt 5, I was prompted to select a nickname for my character. This is something that Codemasters games have been doing going back to at least the original GRID from 2008. GRID would usually let you select your real name from a large list of common and realistic names, so that the voiced narrator could call you by your name as it tells you about your race results or newly unlocked events, but the Dirt games sometimes only let you select a nickname. My Steam reviews have not gotten me as many Tinder matches as I'd hoped, so I made Dirt 5 call me "Kitten," since seemingly no one else will. And with that I grabbed my white Monster energy, donned my cat ear headset, and got down to business. The career mode gets the job done, but not much more than that. There's some sort of story going on, which probably isn't worth paying attention to, and some in-game podcast clips where the Donut Media guys talk about you and your upstart racing career. Donut Media always struck me as Youtube car content for 12 year old boys, goofy memes and in-jokes, I'm maybe just not the target audience for it. They've collaborated with Forza Horizon before too, and that was also just whatever to me. There's Throwdown events against named characters, but I don't remember there being much depth to these characters. They might taunt you once, and then acknowledge your greatness after you beat them, and that's kind of it. Nolan North and Troy Baker voice act in the career mode though. The career progression structure is pretty vanilla too. There's slightly branching career paths, which then lead back into a common ending of a couple different events you can beat to complete a chapter and unlock the next one. You beat races to earn money, which you use to buy cars, and also earn XP which unlocks vehicle liveries and other profile customization stuff. I hardly bothered with customizing my profile because the point of doing so is probably to stand out when playing online, which I only did once. The achievement for completing the second of 5 career chapters has only been earned by 17.5% of players, so seemingly even the people who bought this game barely played it, and there was probably never much of an online population. The career gives the impression of having a variety of event types: Land Rush, Ultra Cross, Stampede, etc., but most of these are just races, for better or worse. Racing trucks, racing buggies, racing rally cars, but just racing. Disappointingly, all the events are single races; no multi-race championships like GRID has. This can also lead to some difficulty spikes for players going for gold medals in all the events like I did. You can't win by averaging a consistent top 3-5 finish over multiple races. You want a gold, you need to finish first, which is very challenging in several events, and felt nearly impossible in a few. Specifically the Unlimited truck class events seemed to frequently be the ones that would require me 10+ attempts to beat. Difficulty can be set anywhere between Very Easy and Very Hard, and I played 95% of the career on Hard. This gave me a fun and fair challenge the majority of the time, and sometimes required me to experiment with my choice of vehicle for the tougher races, which I appreciated. The most actual event variety that you'll find in the Dirt 5 career is probably from Ice Racing, Gymkhana, Path Finder, Throwdowns, and Sprint cars. Ice Racing involves racing on shorter courses laid out on frozen bodies of water and somewhat struggling for traction. Gymkhana returns from Dirt 3, which entails driving around arenas doing drifts and donuts and going off of jumps to score style points and combo multipliers to hit a score target. Path Finder is a time trial over a kind of obstacle course like track, with rough and rocky terrain and steep inclines. Path Finder only has one vehicle available for it, with a second one available in the DLC. Not sure what was up with the difficulty balancing on the Path Finder events but they're incredibly easy. I probably beat all of them on the first try, and often beat the gold medal time by 15 seconds or more even after spinning or flipping the vehicle once or twice. There's Throwdown events that unlock throughout the career, and the narrator will tell you about them when they become available. I think these are mostly 1v1 races against some named character, but you seemingly just don't have to play them at all. They don't appear on the main career mode path, they're in a separate tab, and it doesn't even seem to tell you whether you've played or beaten them or not, but again, it seemingly doesn't matter for some reason. Sprint cars are just racing on short oval courses, but the sprint car handles differently from every other vehicle in the game. They are very powerful, popping a wheelie off of the starting line, and navigating around the oval courses requires steering with the throttle to a degree that no other car requires. This in itself isn't a problem, I've played tons of Dirt Rally with RWD cars which require the same thing. I thought they looked fun in previews of Dirt 5, but either they are too cumbersome to drive, or the AI is too quick in them. I said I played 95% of the career on Hard, because I had to crank it down to Easy to beat these Sprint events. Even Normal felt too hard the couple times I tried it. The career probably only makes you drive this car in like 5 different events throughout its entirety, almost like the developers got the sense that players would not want to drive the sprint car very much. Vehicle selection is one of Dirt 5's strongest points. There's rally cars from the 1970's to the present, pickup trucks, racing trucks, buggies, concept racing SUV things, a late 60's Mustang, a Volkswagen Beetle, an Audi truck that looks like a spaceship, the Aston Martin Vantage featured on the cover, and no Toyota's to be seen, per long running Codemasters tradition. Most of the vehicles are either RWD or AWD, but there's a couple of FWD 90's rally cars. Dirt 5 looks pretty, it's very colorful, there's races in deserts, snowy mountains, and green forested areas. There are different weather conditions and dynamic time of day. Some races start in the dark and then reveal an orange sunrise by the time you cross the finish line, or start at dusk and then go dark, allowing neon lights to create ray traced reflections off of the puddles of water that appear in the low areas of the racing surface. During the career mode, you can take on sponsors and complete objectives for them to earn XP and progress through 15 levels of each sponsor. You can unlock nameplates and stuff for your player profile, but there are also numerous vehicle liveries that are unlocked by leveling up sponsors. For what it's worth, I did not complete all the sponsor objectives despite my 50 hours of gameplay, going for 100% in both the base career mode and the DLC career expansions, and sometimes replaying harder events several times and earning XP with each attempt. It seems the game doesn't expect you to complete all the sponsors, and I don't believe there are any achievements tied to sponsor objectives. They don't feel excessively grindy to complete, there's just a lot of sponsors. Running out of characters, DLC adds some stuff that probably should have been included in the base game, like multiclass racing, time trial events, and events which take place on "Playgrounds," Dirt 5's custom track creation feature. Dirt 5 is not amazing, a little bland, but competent, and worth playing for racing fans.

Considering it's a 75 euro game it's kinda lame, physics are random and bad, graphics meh, handling also random just like the physics. This game looks like a copy attempt of the Gravel game.

changing the settings to easy and its still trash. ai cars are able to take corners no brakes, while you get pulled to the wall. they can even fly by when you are keeping pace.

It is nothing like Dirt Rally, at all. Buuuut, this is a nice racing game to play with your son or niece. It support split screen up to 4 player and the tracks are fun, almost like cartoon cart games tracks only without any power up boost thingy. And we can even make our own track, but naah i don't have any energy for that.

Jogo muito bom. Com as assistências fica bem arcade, excelente dirigibilidade. Ou simulador sem elas.
