Seeing so many negative reviews for this game breaks my heart. This is genuinely everything you could ever want from this type of open world game, it has some of the most in depth crafting/cooking systems and world detail and building capabilities I've EVER seen, and I mostly play survivalcraft stuff. If you can conceptualize a build, you can make it in this game with almost zero limitations, more detailed than modded minecraft. I've seen people build things from massive underground tunnel networks, to medieval castles and cities, to the Stargate Destiny ship. I'm hundreds of hours in and still nowhere near done with the game. It's phenomenal. It's beautiful. It's incredibly fun solo or with friends (up to 16... insane!). I have endless, ENDLESS praise for this game and I cannot wait for 1.0. If you're curious at all about this, PLEASE try it out!!!

One of My All-Time Favorite Games Enshrouded has become one of my favorite games I’ve ever played. Disclaimer: I’ve only played it in co-op, so my experience and opinion are based entirely on playing with my wife. The combination of exploration, survival, building, combat, and RPG progression works incredibly well. There’s always something new to discover, and playing alongside friends makes every adventure feel that much more memorable. The world is beautiful and mysterious, and I love how naturally the game encourages you to explore. The building system is also fantastic. It’s easy to get completely lost in designing and improving your base, and there’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing it evolve as you progress. Progression is another huge highlight for me. Finding new gear, unlocking abilities, discovering new areas, and gradually becoming stronger always gives you a reason to keep going. And with at least one friend, even the simple moments, exploring, gathering resources, building, or getting completely sidetracked can turn into some of the best memories. Enshrouded is one of those games where you can sit down intending to play for an hour and suddenly realize you’ve been playing all night. For me, the co-op experience is where this game really shines. Highly recommended if you have a friend to play with. It’s easily one of my favorite co-op gaming experiences. Game is worth 2x Full price

This game is terrible for co-op play. I loved the game on my private server so I rented a dedicated one to have my friends join in. The problem is the server-based progress and the unlocked NPCs. The game is only rewarding if you are all playing together and unlocking things as a group. Otherwise, if you're playing and questing on your own, your server mates miss out. Sorry! Also, the unlocked NPCs are one-per-server. So if you friend decides they want to make a little town but you want to live in a different part of the map, then you have to decide who gets the black smith, farmer, etc, because there is only one spawn of these crafters per server. The game expects you and your friends to play at the same time to unlock things, and all of you agree to make a little town and share your resources. That's so ridiculous, given how beautiful and large the map is. One of my friends inevitably left the server to play on their own because they were missing too much content due to me and another friend having already unlocked survivors/completed quests. Was this designed as a single player game at one point and they just half-assed co-op play? I have no idea why this is designed in such a terrible way. It wouldn't kill them to have duplicate NPCs for different flame shrines. You could just unlock their 'tools' which could make the same thing that the crafter NPCs do and have the NPCs just give quests and add flavor. Why do you have to talk to the black smith to make nails, but you can go to the crafting station to make metal plates?

I have been playing video games for 35 years, this is one of the best games I have played. You can tell the dev team put their heart and soul into this game. To address negative reviews , rewarding games come at the cost of actual limitations and challenges. For one you can adjust the difficulty in depth in the settings its very easy to make this game a breeze or difficult. My wife who is a noob has 100% this game with me 2 times. Would a mount be nice sure but so would you being able to read a basic terrain map to optimize your flight paths. Put a teleporter at the highest point in a biome and glide to your destination with ease. Put points into skills that make stamina less of an issue they give you the tools use them. On to the important stuff , an incredibly in depth building system. Fun missions and bosses, great combat and mechanics. This game is absolutely gorgeous without needing insane specs to run it well. Puzzles that make you sweat along with obstacles. They have steadily made this game better and better I have full faith in this team. Only things I would like to see, more glowing armor and weapons I love them lol. Have gems do more than what they do currently they are very under powered. Higher level cap for progression and it would be awesome to have a spell sword type tree. All in all if I can get 340 hours of fun from 30 bucks you are more than getting your moneys worth.

Extremely addictive survival game with enough casual elements to keep things fun without making it feel too stressful. The world is visually beautiful, and even in its current state, Enshrouded already offers a lot to enjoy. The co-op experience has easily been a 10/10 for me. You can have your own solo world, build and progress at your own pace, then take that same character into a completely different server and enjoy the game with friends without affecting your personal save. I also really like how quests work in multiplayer. If your friends complete a quest while you're offline, you can still go back later since quest items and bosses respawn. You can complete it yourself, get the XP, and remove it from your quest log. There are also plenty of optional side quests scattered throughout Embervale through NPCs and lore books. They give you more reasons to explore the cursed lands and discover places you might otherwise miss. Since many of these quests can be completed again, it also works really well for shared servers where someone might join late or miss something. Overall, Enshrouded mixes survival, exploration, building, quests, and co-op really well. It's one of those games where you can easily lose a few hours without even noticing. They chased the Elixir... and released the Shroud. Highly recommended

To celebrate 1000 hours in the game I decided to recommend officially. It's a perfect family coop. We came to it from Valheim after we hit 1800 hours and got tired of Mistland. Enshrouded feels much more balanced and the voxel based world is an amazing experience. It's beautifully and efficiently implemented and opens crazy opportunities, like digging your way through a rock just because. 1.0 is coming next month and we are looking forward to the new biomes and new toys. It's fun. Sometimes tedious but very rewarding fun. Sorry Valheim, we are not coming back.

Coming from a VERY beginner level gamer I have to say that I absolutely LOVE the customization that is allowed wiithin the settings, and the entire gaming experience along with it. What I mean is, my oldest son and my boyfriend are very experienced gamers and they WANT excitement, action, quests, skill-trees -the whole 9 yards! But my daughter and I are very inexperienced, and struggle to even hardly keep up, or understand how to navigate through the game -let along try to focus on killing enemies and gaining skill points, or any level of progression at all really... But Enshrouded has it ALL! Seriously! I changed the settings to where the enemies only attack IF you attack them first, so you can still engage and rank up, but we do it at our own pace and on our terms. Some days we quest, others are spent at our camp building and creating, others yet we have to gather supplies. AND YOU CAN EVEN CRAFT A CAMERA & TAKE PHOTOS AND FIND/KEEP PETS TOOO!!!!! I have never been much of a gamer, but I can say I am in love with this game - and the graphics are breath taking! Oh, you can also adjust (in settings) how long it is day & night and other survival/game-play experience aspects as well. 10/10 recommend.
