one of the best experiences of the fallout series as a whole, the only reason you dislike it is a skill issue on your part

One of the best DLCs in the game. You can't approach it like you would the rest of Fallout- you need to understand that the situation is different here, and your normal gameplay loop is disrupted as long as your within the Sierra Madre. Once you get past that and start genuinely engaging with the story and atmosphere, this DLC is perfectly crafted. The best work I've ever seen in Fallout by a longshot.

This is the second best dlc besides Old world blues (which mogs base fallout new vegas by a mile) People that dont like this are garbage at video games or only can TOLERATE, only STOMACH, vanilla fnv gameplay

This DLC is rightfully divisive. As someone returning to replay the game from a several year hiatus I could recall the.. dread.. this content elicited. The atmosphere and writing are spot on, serviceable -- not amazing. my main issues are: - this entire DLC is a cakewalk for stealth/melee builds and literally no one else. ghost people have ludicrous levels of ranged damage reduction.. why?? - repetitive writing and chastising voice lines about "greed" from completely hypocritical and self-motivated characters - the toys you are given to play with throughout the DLC are mostly worthless trophies for a hideout chest, not worth using. - ♥♥♥♥ the radio collar ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, frankly. and also ♥♥♥♥ the maze layout. poison gas and projection mobs tbh you get a pass for being hardly noticeable. This DLC plays like a bad migraine

did you like new vegas and all its crazy weapons, unique enemies, memorable characters, and freedom of exploration? then for just $5 you can get none of that! aside from the 3 sidekicks who all leave ur party halfway thru, the only npc to talk to is elijah and hes not interesting in the slightest. hes brotherhood of steel, wants the casinos tech to kill everyone, who cares. you're talking to a brick wall. the "gameplay" is a couple hours of running through mandatory damage to complete asinine tasks, while "sneaking" past a bunch of zombies who have INFINITE perception due to a typo in the files (seriously look it up. you cannot avoid any of them whatsoever) you will also find countless radios and alarms that play an ear-piercing high pitched beeping noise and kill you in 5 seconds. Only some of these can be destroyed, and they become absolutely unbearable toward the end of the game. after entering the sierra madre, your companions leave and you can finally explore (complete a mandatory linear quest) the casino (a bunch of hallways). you find some keys, turn the casino on to scam the blackjack table, and convince/kill your companions while moving toward the basement vault to finish the dlc. The weapons are absolute trash. if you use guns, you get the police pistol (a 357 magnum reskin) and maybe 1 shotgun somewhere iirc. for melee, you get a kitchen knife that u can turn into a weak spear. energy gets the holorifle, which is pretty good ngl, and unarmed gets pretty much nothing. you are never going to find a better armor set than the stupid guard uniform, which you will certainly throw away after the dlc because it's hideous and weak. you CAN, however, leave with over 10k pre-war money and 30-something gold bars worth thousands apiece. its the devs' way of apologizing to you, by letting you buy out the entire gun runners dlc 3 times over. its one of the only reasons to bother with this dlc. the other reason to buy this is for the vendors. you can break the entire game if you really want to, by collecting chips in fountains and trading them for stimpaks, ammo, even WEAPON REPAIR KITS. my last time playing, i carried 100 kits out with me and never had to worry about durability ever again. so if your goal is to remove all challenge from new vegas, play this and youll leave with all you need, plus a lingering feeling that you could've bought lonesome road instead. TLDR it's the complete package: terrible weapons, few choices, migraine-inducing gameplay, severely unbalanced rewards, and the brownest graphics ever rendered. beating it just once, and never again, is the right way to do it (but i beat it 3 more times just to be sure the positive reviewers were as wrong as they seemed). DO NOT BUY
