A masterclass of story telling... I simply cant even find the words for this review. The feelings that this game envoked in me were indescribable. I would advise ANYONE, who has never played this game to buy, play, master, but most importantly. Enjoy it... 10/10 Would let honor die on the beach again.

Ghost of Tsushima is pretty much everything I want in a game. A beautifully detailed and immersive world, a memorable protagonist, interesting and complex characters, great voice acting, a perfect soundtrack that blends in seamlessly whether you are in an epic battle or just taking in the sights near the cliffs, excellent and responsive gameplay, gear upgrades, tons of things to find and discover, and an incredible, emotional story. Every inch of Tsushima felt screenshot worthy. I constantly found myself stopping just to take in the scenery, and it was ridiculously easy to get lost in this gorgeously colorful world while cutting down Mongol invaders. The major story missions are just fantastic. They are packed with story, character moments, and excitement, all building toward an emotionally impactful final duel that, when it was over, left me sitting there for a minute thinking, "Man." This was a "Man" game for sure. The DLC only made it better by adding even more story that fills in Jin's past, his upbringing, and how he ultimately processes the man he chose to become for Tsushima. It was a great addition to an already great story. I completed everything in the base game and the DLC, then went back for a New Game+ playthrough. Normally, a NG+ achievement annoys me, but I was actually happy to play through the main story again. I went into NG+ thinking it would be even more fun to experience the main story without having to worry about all the side missions and exploring every inch of the island looking for sword kits, charms, flowers, shrines, fox dens, and healing pools. I was very wrong. I found myself wanting to replay every mission in the game. I didn't, but I honestly felt like my second playthrough was less special because I skipped all of those side missions. Those little stories and all of the stuff you stumble across while exploring are such a big part of what makes this game special. Then there is Legends. I have to admit, I went into Legends with annoyance and skepticism. Another multiplayer achievement. Great. At first, Legends just felt off to me. It was darker, I had no idea what I was doing, and I struggled badly playing through the story solo. By the time I reached Ki 32, I finally decided to figure out what I actually needed to do to get better. A few days later, I was comfortable enough to turn Matchmaking On. 100 hours later, I'm hooked. I begrudgingly came for the achievements, but stayed for the gameplay, story, gear grind, and fun. I never expected Legends to become something I would actually spend that much time playing, but here we are. It's also pretty remarkable that this entire multiplayer mode is free. And even in 2026, there is still no shortage of people playing. I've rarely had to wait longer than a minute to get into a matchmaking story or survival run. Ghost of Tsushima is one of those games where I kept finding reasons to play just a little longer. Finish one more mission. Find one more shrine. Upgrade one more piece of gear. Try one more Legends run. Then suddenly I'm over 100 hours in. The funny thing is, I started this game expecting to love the single-player experience and tolerate the multiplayer long enough to get the achievements. Instead, I ended up loving both. Great world. Great characters. Great story. Great gameplay. Great DLC. And somehow, a multiplayer mode that I didn't even want to play became another 100 hours of fun. Yeah. "Man."

This game is absolutely beautiful. It is not often that I pause in a game to make screenshots, but I found myself hitting F12 constantly in this game. At the time of writing, I have finished the base game and did all sidequests and found all collectible items. I have not tried the online mode yet, though, and still need to finish the Iki Island DLC. The good: - The game looks and sounds absolutely amazing - The fighting is really great, giving you many options to aproach each battle. You have a good bunch of quickly throwable weapons to play around with that incapacitates the mongol soldiers or hides you in smoke, you unlock 4 different sword stances that allow you to break the defense of an opponent dependent on wether it's a big guy, a sword fighter, a spearman or a shield bearer, you get two different bows as well as a seperate few throwable items that require you to aim. - You feel really overpowered at times, but a few blows of the opponent can quickly kill you. - The action is at it's best if you parry and dodge attacks. This is not a soulslike, though, the parry timing is very forgiveable. - You can pet foxes, monkeys and cats - Loads of unlockable armor, headgear, masks and horse saddles - The game is very minimal with it's HUD. Instead of following an arrow, you follow where the wind blows. If there is a secret nearby, you can follow a firefly or a golden bird to find it. This was incredibly immersive. The bad: - While it's a lovely open world, it has the same issue as many open worlds have, in that it is filled with repeated events. Rescue all hostages from a camp, do a little uncharted-like climbing sequence to reach a shrine, follow a fox around, do a button combo to cut bamboo etc. It doesn't have the kind of variation that The Witcher 3 had, for instance. That said, I only started to feel burned out on it in the latter 1/4th of the game. Considering I got 83 hours on it so far (mainly because I didn't use the teleport all that much), it's not too bad. - I felt the stealth gameplay was a bit easy, with enemies taking a while to spot you and clear arrows appearing if they might. - You unlock the entire skill tree and will be able to upgrade all your gear long before you reach the end, meanwhile, due to it taking flowers, you won't nearly have all cosmetics unlocked even after 100%ing the main game. It would be nice if it was a bit more balanced. - The story felt a bit cliche, although the main cast of characters was great. I liked their character depth and individual stories despite nearly all dealing with their pride and their past. All in all, a great experience. I loved getting to know the island of Tsushima and I hope I get to pet more animals once I get around to the Iki DLC.

THE GREATEST SAMURAI GAME EVER CREATED!! Do I have to say more! So satisfying from start to finish. Eliminating enemies is so satisfying, perk trees are awesome, animals in the game are beautiful, livelyness of the npcs of the game are great. (honestly no cons) I say this with deep admiration, EVERYONE should experience a masterpiece of a game like this once in their lives because this game is perfect. Also Ghost of Yotei is peak but Jins story is just written so well.

I'm an old school gamer and as a result tend to watch Youtube videos of the ZX Spectrum and Amiga 500 and remember how much those games entertained me and I got invested in them. These days I tend to buy modern games play them for a few hours and move on. HOWEVER in the case of Ghost I finished the whole game (well I have done a few side quests) and what a great game it is. Truly art. I loved the way the violent kill scenes ramp up towards the end of the game and how it paints such a lovely but violent picture. The story is absolutely fantastic and had me in tears at least twice. Game play wise it reminds me heavily of the Shadow of Mordor with the ability to use enviromental factors against enemy's (hornet's nest being a big steal). I cannot overstate what a complete package this game is ..AN ABSOLUTE MASTERPEICE.

God of Story? God of Atmosphere? God of Gameplay? God of Completion?
