Perhaps the greatest game ever created. Beautiful design, fantastic storyline, and brilliant voice acting. The puzzles are incredible and fun, and each new mechanic is introduced in such a way that it never becomes overwhelming or overly difficult, yet maintains a challenging arc as the game progresses. Then add to it the workshop, and being able to create your own puzzles and publish them for others to play, and you have, in this old man's opinion, sheer perfection.

А представляете, ААА-сутдия делает игру с хорошим геймплеем, сюжетом и нарративом, где одиночная игра сделана так же хорошо как и кооператив, а доната и косметики в ней не будет? Не представляете? Вот и я не представляю. Уже нет.

Having finished both the single-player and co-op campaigns a couple of times each, I can safely say that Portal 2 is an extremely polished and simply brilliant experience in every single way. Everything from the tutorialisation and difficulty curve to the environments, story and humour has the level of polish that players have come to expect from Valve. After practising with Portal, which is practically just a prologue to Portal 2, they hit the nail on the head and made a puzzle game that's hard to surpass. There's not much to criticise or talk about that hasn't been said a thousand times at this point. One thing I will say is that while there's more achievements than in Portal, if you happen to have a co-op buddy, they're generally more fun and satisfying to complete compared to Portal's tedious Bronze/Silver/Gold ratings on the challenge maps. I just have to give a shout-out to the end credits song which – like the one in Portal – manages to be incredibly funny and emotional at the same time while also summarising the main events from the game. I occasionally have to go back and listen to them a couple of times to reminisce about Portal and Portal 2 with teary eyes while also smiling from ear to ear. All in all, Portal 2 is the golden standard for puzzle games and might be the point of comparison for the genre even decades after its release. Looking forward to replaying it once again in some number of years! 10 / 10

this reminded me why i liked playing video games in the first place. and game itself aside, THAT VOICE ACTING AND MUSIC!!! this game is a treasure chest.
