Hello fellow gamers, let me tell you a story. It's a bit sad, a bit disappointing and a little bit tragic — much like the current state of the gaming industry as a whole (with a few exceptions). I got this game as a birthday gift a few years ago. Curious, I started playing, and to no one's surprise I ragequit within the first few hours, outraged that a studio like Bethesda could ship something like this in 2023. Is this really the best you've got? Years went by, and curiosity got the better of me, so I gave it another shot. I'd stopped expecting a company stuck in 2010 to feel present and self-aware in 2026. So what do you actually get in this 2010-era Bethesda "masterpiece"? Yes, I'm aware of the actual release date. Picture Frankenstein's monster — stitched together, but by several different surgeons working on different schedules, and at least a few of them hammered. On paper, it could work(while you are also drunk). Progression and economy There's a full upgrade system: weapons, equipment, ships, base-building and home furnishing. You can customize weapons, design your own modular ship, and push gear from standard to legendary with various mods. So far, so good — that's the pitch. Then you actually play it. I'm level 35, I own a handful of ships, I've made exactly one ship modification (thanks, Reddit), and I've upgraded one weapon to 4-star legendary. In the process, every credit I'd saved for something meaningful evaporated — legendary stat rerolls alone can burn through hundreds of thounsands creds. Either there's some grand plan where a few more zones and levels turn you into a millionaire, or you're signing up for an absurd grind: quests pay pennies next to what ships and gear actually cost. And even once you've farmed the loot, you still have to burn real time sitting on a bench waiting two in-game days for vendors to refill their credits, just so you can sell it. Story and dialogue Here's where you're really in for a treat. Want stilted persuasion conversations built on hidden stat checks that nobody bothers to explain, so sometimes they land and sometimes they flop for no clear reason? It's here. Want story that builds toward immersion and then resolve in ways that make no sense? Also here. Want to bribe a supposed millionaire with a whopping 1,000 credits, because apparently that works? Yep, that too. Space Now for the main event: space, ships, and planetary exploration. Jump into a system hoping to explore, and you'll find 8 planets or moons — remember the marketing? "1,000 planets." Right. Want to land somewhere? Enjoy the unskippable cutscene. Want to go somewhere else? More cutscenes. Also worth metioning that most of those planets have nothing apart from some fauna and flora, no POI nothing. Locations Someone clearly put real effort into a handful of hand-crafted locations, and those are genuinely enjoyable — if only there were enough of them. For every good one, there's a pile of generated filler, and I wouldn't even mind that if there were more than a handful of prefabs in rotation. It feels like Bethesda built five templates, rotated each one a few degrees, and called it a day. Even story-critical locations sometimes don't hold together — not "confusing maze" territory, just genuinely nonsensical: ship layouts nobody with common sense would design, let alone use twice before scrapping the thing. The last thing that keeps me going is that i want to build a fkin big ship and then never play this game ever again. 4 different persons came up with ideas and they implemented them in a way that they did not spoke to each other. This game could be worth when the price would be like 10euro, but certainly not 50.

It's just pretty mediocre, all in all. It's not bad, it just didn't and still doesn't live up to the marketing.

Starfield Review Overview I have never been a massive Bethesda fan. I like their games, but sometimes it feels like they expect the Bethesda formula to carry a game simply because it worked so well before. I bought Starfield when it released in 2023 and barely stuck with it. Coming back in 2026 and playing it properly from start to finish, including both DLCs and every achievement, was a completely different experience. The easiest way I can describe Starfield is Skyrim in space. It is huge, full of quests, factions, companions, planets, ship building, crafting, space combat, and things to grind. After roughly 110 hours, I genuinely like Starfield. I can also completely understand why it disappointed so many people. Story and Characters The characters were one of my favorite parts of the game. Companions have different personalities, opinions, and reactions to what you do. Some will agree with your decisions, others absolutely will not, especially when you start building relationships with them. The voice acting is also really good. Characters rarely sounded robotic or unbelievable, and I was much more immersed in conversations than I expected. The main story itself is much weaker. The premise is interesting enough to keep you moving, but I never found it particularly exciting. The faction questlines were honestly more interesting to me. I also barely used the powers unless an achievement or quest required them. There are plenty with different uses, but collecting them gets repetitive fast. Find a temple, do the same floating minigame, get a power, repeat. World and Exploration Starfield has over 100 star systems and more than 1,000 planets, which sounds insane on paper. The major locations can be really immersive. New Atlantis, Akila City, Neon, and other settlements have their own look and personality. The problem is that exploration itself is one of Starfield's biggest weaknesses. You can land on completely different planets, enter a structure, and realize you have already seen the exact same layout somewhere else. Same rooms, same enemies, same bodies, sometimes even the same placements. That completely destroys the illusion of exploring a massive universe. Planets are also often huge but empty. You can find caves, facilities, landmarks, creatures, and other points of interest, but once you notice how often everything repeats, the motivation to explore starts disappearing. That is where Starfield really fails compared to Skyrim. In Skyrim, wandering somewhere could unexpectedly lead to a new cave, character, quest, or story. In Starfield, exploration often led me back into content I had already seen. The menus do not help either. You spend way too much time navigating maps, inventories, planets, systems, and fast travel screens. Combat Combat is fine, but very basic. There is a good selection of weapons and you can modify them, improve skills, use powers, or try stealth. But most fights played the same for me. I entered a room and started shooting everyone. Enemy variety is not particularly impressive, and harder enemies often just felt like they could absorb more bullets instead of forcing me to change how I played. Stealth was especially disappointing. Every time I tried to properly use it, it felt unreliable and frustrating. Combat never became terrible, though. Shooting and looting stayed satisfying enough that I did not mind doing it for over 100 hours. It is just nowhere near as deep as I hoped. Progression and Ships I really liked the skill system. Skills have multiple ranks, and progressing them requires small challenges related to that skill. Most happen naturally while playing, and I liked having to actually use something before fully improving it. Ship building is also cool. I did not go crazy with it, but upgrading weapons, shields, cargo, and grav drive was fun. Looting kept me going too. Even when exploration became repetitive, I still enjoyed opening containers, picking locks, finding credits, and looking for better equipment. DLC The two story expansions are Shattered Space and Terran Armada. Shattered Space was probably the stronger one for me. It feels more focused and handcrafted than a lot of the base game's exploration, with a concentrated area, story, and atmosphere. Terran Armada was decent too. Delta was a fun addition, and it gives you more combat and progression to work through. Neither expansion blew me away. They are not bad, but I do not think either changes how you feel about Starfield. If you already enjoy the base game, they give you more Starfield. If you hate the core loop, I doubt they will change your mind. Performance and Bugs My 2026 experience was massively better than launch. When I first played in 2023, performance was one of the reasons I stopped. Coming back now, I had no real FPS problems and the game ran very well overall. It is still buggy, though. I had conversations break, interactions stop working, and moments where I had to reload a save. Nothing destroyed my playthrough, but the game still does not feel as polished as I would like. Bethesda has clearly improved it a lot since release, and the current version is in a much better place. 100% Completion Getting every achievement took me roughly 110 hours. Most are honestly pretty chill. The biggest grind for me was reaching level 100, along with some exploration and resource-related achievements. The game currently has 82 Steam achievements. It is not a particularly difficult 100%, just a long one. What Works [*]Great companions and voice acting [*]Enjoyable faction questlines [*]Huge amount of content [*]Distinct cities and settlements [*]Satisfying shooting and looting [*]Good skill progression [*]Deep ship building [*]Much better performance than at launch What Falls Short [*]Main story is pretty average [*]Exploration becomes extremely repetitive [*]Too many reused locations and layouts [*]Many planets feel huge but empty [*]Far too much menu navigation [*]Combat lacks depth and enemy variety [*]Stealth feels weak [*]Power temples get repetitive fast [*]Bugs are still present Verdict Starfield is not a bad game. I actually had a lot of fun with it. It has serious problems with repetition, exploration, menus, combat depth, and a main story that never really grabbed me. But it also has memorable companions, enjoyable faction questlines, satisfying progression, tons of content, and that Bethesda charm that can keep you playing much longer than expected. After buying it at launch, putting it down, and returning years later to complete everything, I am happy I gave Starfield another chance. If you want a huge single-player space RPG where you can explore, build ships, complete factions, collect loot, and disappear for 100 hours, it is absolutely worth trying. Just do not expect every one of those 1,000 planets to have something worth finding.

This is a terrible game. Copy/paste buildings. NPC's are all the same. The companions are atrocious and there are really no choices. The combat is bad with bullet sponges. Faction quests are shallow and the main quest is ridiculous.
