There is one thing that I really don't like about this "Expansion" it is the fact that they make you pay to finish the expansion that you already paid for... Markath is the conclusion of it and they released it as a DLC, it is unacceptable and should not be tolerated by the fans it is an insult to us. They do this just to make more money or make us pay for eso+ wich is a double standard for their "Free To Play" model, it is a really greedy move by Zenimax. I love the game but there are ALOT of micro transactions and they are way too overpriced. There are some paid to win elements to it like the fact that you can buy books for leveling mount speed faster (because in game it is taking forever to do it with the 24 hours cooldown) they make the progression slower so you pay for Eso+, like I said it's double standard typical from the free to play business model. To me the fact that they released the end of the expansion, Markath, as a DLC, is a huge slap in the face, if you bought greymoor you are being extorted. They need to be called out for such an act. This move is greediness on another level, we cannot accept things like that this expansion is a shame, it feels rushed and not enough content compared to Morrowind and they have the guts to release the conclusion, as, a, DLC...

Let me be more precise: I'd not recommend this chapter - at full price. This chapter definetly has its merits, the Antiquities offer a break from the combat heavy core gameplay and offer some nice lore tidbits (sometimes going into deep lore territory), tho obviously it can get stale if you focus on it too much. The size of the zone is actually quite decent, combined with Blackreach it's might just be the biggest area of all the chapters as of now, and is actually quite explorable, much less mountain-holes than we had in Summerset. And it's very nostalgic, neat to see how things looked in the past. Repetable contentwise there are some neat improvements; - You only need to do one 'dolmen' for the respective daily, as opposed to the usual 3 - There are plenty of wayshrines (thank god the devs learned their mistake in Anequina), tho some of them are kinda awkwardly placed But if it does so many things right then why would I not recommend it? - No new combat systems to tinker with (come on, where's the 1-hand+magic skill line ZoS, everyone's been asking for it for over 5 years now) - Antiquities can get dull fast - Sets are average at best - Despite praising the worldspace I feel like it lacks connectivity, like there should be gates leading to The Pale (around the Eastern Great Lift) and the Reach to the west (not south! . gate should be around somewhere Dragonhome) but those are sorely missing - It's Skyrim, AGAIN (yes, I did also listed it as a positive attribute, but come on, I have to honor the meme :P. But Skyrim-fatique IS a real thing at this point, so I'm like half serious) - ZoS didn't fix the eastern Skyrim-Morrowinf border. (kind of unrelated but it's a petpeeve of mine, that eastern border remains butchered for at least two-three more years ;w; It's just looks sooo bad, ZoS, please, fix that border. And also add the Niben river to the main map, it just doesn't look Tamriel without it) (Spoiler warning) - The big stinker: the story was probably the worst one of all the chapters so far. Predictable and uninspired rehash of the generic world-ending scenario with flat and lifeless characters and an overly obvious, obnoxious and unrealistic side-villain. Come on ZoS, not every story has to be about a big bad villain aiming for world domination. It's stale, boring and uninspired. Can we take a break and have some smaller scale stories about more localized problems. Wrothgar was cool as it was really about just Orc politics, the world wasn't at peril. Murkmire was refreshing as it was just one person misusing local relics for selfish reasons. Also, vampires, in Skyrim, AGAIN? could you really not come up with something more interesting. Probably would be less painful if the Svana-Svargrim situation wasn't so reminiscent of the Serana-Harkon situation. Like honestly, daughter having to turn against his megalomaniac father, just more rehashing. Their personalities might be different but that's mainly because Svana is a sack of clichés, a meat puppet being dragged around by the plot. One of the very first things she tells you is that she hates being a princess and bam, half a quest later she is ready to take charge and protect everyone in the kingdom. Like I think that change is too sudden, should have set it up better during the initial encounter. Also, somehow she is able to sneak into the vampire and falmer infested caverns of Blackreach on her own? (during the quest The Gray Host) Like thank you for ruining the immersion that Blackreach is a dangerous place :V The side quests aren't that inspired either, there are a few gems here and there but most of the time they are pretty dull. like for example, there are 5 quests in Blackreach that are literally carbon copies of each other. (Though that's kind of the point) - However this means that this chapter actually has less unique quests than the usual amount. Every location pretty much only has one quest associated with them (With the exception of Solitude) and they pretty much all coincide with MQ locations, which means that despite having the biggest map of any chapter it ends up feeling the emptiest. Most of the work on this chapter was done before the pandemic so I don't think it can be chalked up to that, tho it definitely hurt the polishing phase. Tbh I might just be tired of this whole Year-long-adventure format and the cataclysmic scales of the villain's plans, but atm I truly don't think this chapter worth the price tag and an buyer should wait for a discount. Here's hoping that the next chapter won't be a big bad guy(TM) threathening to destroy Tamriel. (, knowing full well it most likely will be) Really wish we could have some more exoteric and creative stories. Or if the whole world really had to be at risk then at least try to find a more creative villain than the obvious evil-looking daedra. Can we like have Mehrunes or Molag be helpful for a change of pace? Like how Clavicus Vile helped us in Summerset to stop Nocturnal.

READ THIS BEFORE PURCHASE!!! THE GREYMOOR UPGRADE ONLY CONTAIN GREYMOOR AND NO OTHER DLC!!! TO GET THE FULL PACKAGE WITH ALL OTHER DLC, YOU HAVE TO GET THE GREYMOOR WITH THE BASE GAME!!!! I made this mistake, I guess people mentioned it somewhere in the review, it was my bad to not read the review, sort of...

Greymoor takes players to a whole new region of tamriel... Skyrim! Yeah, frustration at not getting to explore something actually new, or see a part of Skyrim that would actually be different in the past (seriously, why is there no expansion including Winterhold? Supposedly it was a massive city before it collapsed into the sea of ghosts!) Theres a lot to like about this DLC... and a lot to feel more... so-so about. So, the elephant in the room, this expansion is lauded as being a phoned in cash grab, with a lackluster story and quests and relatively little content in Western Skyrim itself... yes and no. What people say about the new zone is accurate, the main story is passable if a little bland, and has a big glaring (spoilery) problem I will get to at the bottom of the review. The side quests outside of that are... there. They certainly existed. Some were pretty good, some were standard fetch quests. Definitely nowhere near the amount of in-depth quests as seen in other expansions like Elseweyr and summerset. On top of that the zone itself has a few graphical bugs, and the quests have issues with unclear and confusing objectives. Definitely a rush job. So why do I disagree that its a cash grab? (or, more of a cash grab than any of the other 4 major expansions) Because its clear that dev time wasnt just forgone for a quick buck, it was simply placed somewhere entirely different: Antiquities. Antiquities is the true meat and potatoes of this expansion, adding tons of new loot items, equipment, collectable cosmetics, outfit styles and really cool looking, high quality furniture to every zone in Tamriel, including other DLC's and future DLC zones. Each loot item has snippets of lore and (written) dialogue associated with it, most having multiple. I've enjoyed it quite a lot, the items have really brought my home together. I'm not a fan of the RNG grind for some of the leads (especially on difficult group bosses) but most are pretty simple to find, and often you will find them just playing the game normally. Combined with a middling to decent zone (blackreach looks really cool, but is a pain to navigate) If you can get this pack on sale before it gets assimilated into the crown store, its pretty worth it. So, now for the big issue with the story, spoilers ahead, you have been warned. Like other DLC's, this packs story is part of a greater whole, I knew this going in. But, when you play a pack like Morrowind or Elsewyr, you felt like you got a pretty complete story, with a tease at the end for the next part of the story. You go in, you solve the central crisis, you fight the core established antagonist. Then right at the end you get the little cliffhanger "but wait there's more!" ending setting up the next DLC. Fine. Dandy. This DLC does not, in any way, stand on its own in terms of story. The entire story spends its time establishing The Grey Host and Rada-Al Saran as your primary antagonists. You thwart their plans, kill their allies, and eavesdrop on these characters. Instead of you confronting the grey host and Rada-Al Saran, stopping their plans and defeating them. You get a new villain right before the final act, who you fight as the final boss instead, while the Grey Host runs away to the Markarth DLC instead. Had the Grey Host been more of a background thing (Or at least Rada-Al Saran himself only showing up in the final act rather than most of the quests) this wouldn't be so bad. But the DLC is called GREYmoor, you go to castle GREYmoor, the headquarters of the GREY host. The ending is incredibly abrupt, with little buildup and fanfair when compared to the final confrontations in all 4 of the previous major expansions, and even most of the smaller expansions too! No expansion feels like I am receiving only half of a story (Even dragonguard, which only makes sense post-Elseweyr, was a complete standalone story) until now. I fight the final boss (without realizing it, and being disapointed when I noticed I was on quest 7/7) then the Skald-King shows up and contributes... literally nothing to the story and moment other than being a cameo appearance... and thats it. Want to conclude this story! Buy Markarth. Speaking of which... Oh boy, a city that literally cant have changed in thousands of years, since all the buildings were built by a race that is already gone. What an exciting new locale to explore in Tamriel... sure its thematically appropriate since we are fighting Reachmen a whole lot (holy go-to villains batman! The Reach almost gets as much play in being villains as the Daedra! 2 going on 3 expansions and 4 base game zones?) We better get a major Black Marsh dlc next... or a plane of oblivion that's not Coldharbor, the Shivering Isles or the Deadlands. Part of why I bought ESO was to see new parts of Elder Scrolls, not revisit old ones.

While I enjoy playing certain things about this expansion, there leaves a lot to be desired. First of all, the above-ground zone, while appealing enough, isn't anywhere near as appealing as any previous chapter. I was hoping for something a lot woodsier. Skyrim was fairly woodsy. Blackreach is incredible-looking, but more on that below. Secondly, Solitude, which again is pleasant enough, is annoying for doing crafting writs. Too many mini-load screens. A mini-load screen to get into the city, a mini-load screen to get to the clothing area, a mini-load screen to get into the alchemy/enchanting area, a mini-load screen to get into the inn. Sick of mini-load screens yet? You're getting the idea. Third, the trial...it just sucks imo. None of the sets are particularly good, and that's fine. The actual trial though is so boring and stale. After completing it, I immediately longed for a vampire-theme trial that sank in level design into the depths of Nirn. Instead it's just tired old Nord with a semi-interesting final boss. I can't see myself ever repeating it, and I repeat all the other trials and love them. Speaking of vampires, fourth, the vampire revamp...while it's great to have more abilities, they still don't elevate vampirism above RP status. In other words, you can't slot the vampire abilities and expect to play at anywhere near the dmg power of regular abilities, which means you're going to lag behind everyone else. And ZOS made regular abilities cost more if you play as a vampire. That seriously needs reworking...again. Now, there might be a way to make the abilities work and I haven't stumbled upon it yet, but it's definitely more than just slotting them in, and if it's more than that, then it's already far more difficult than building a regular character. Shouldn't be that way. Should be relatively simple, balanced, and powerful enough to make it a viable option. Fifth, Blackreach...one of the better things about Greymoor. It's gorgeous, but you don't really do much down there. You can't even find antiquities...hello? It's a deep cavern! Wouldn't it be full of them?? It's wondrous to explore, but hard to get around. That's OK, I just wish there were something to do down there. There's an amazing castle, Castle Greymoor. It's so gorgeous, but it's relegated to the main quest line really, and after that's done, it has no use as far as I could see. Finally, the antiquities system. I think this is the best thing about the expansion. It's quite fun, imo, and I enjoyed leveling it and hunting for stuff. But it does sort of play out somewhat quickly, and then you move on. The thing is, with other expansions, for example, Summerset and Elsweyr, you got something that would last a long time and was worth repeating. The class lines introduced in those chapters can be played endlessly, and the zones are very appealing, lively zones. The storylines are more interesting, although I've never been much of a fan of ESO questing. The Morrowind chapter, which was so long ago...you go to Vivec City and it's full of players. You run around Vvardenfell and you see players everywhere. I visited Blackreach 2-3 days ago and it was a ghost town. I really wish ZOS'd have another look at Greymoor, the trial, and the vamp line. It's not too late (or maybe it is?) to turn it into something spectacular.

Не играл около года, куплен был только морровинд, решил купить издание с Includes The Elder Scrolls Online base game, Greymoor, Elsweyr, Morrowind and Summerset Chapters and Digital CE Contents,
